Our guide took us straight to the Dungeon first and it was not what I expected- it was full of dressed dummies, depicting the historical figures who were imprisoned there so that part was kind of cheesy-if you can overlook the dummies the guide did a good job of giving the history of the place and the characters though. We liked the Graveyard portion of the Dungeon tour much better. HINT- you walk across alot of original cobblestone AND river rock streets fairly fast and IN THE DARK to get to the various destinations, so wear comfortable shoes with NO heels, unless you want to break your ankle(which I did a year ago.) Even though I am healed now and was wearing my most comfortable gym shoes this time, I still found the walkways uneven and challenging to the ankles.Bring your camera, as you are encouraged to take as many photos as you want-in an effort to capture images of orbs and figures who may appear on them! Happened to me!! Tie a sweatshirt around your waist, as it can get cold at night in the graveyard and dungeon, especially from mid October til May. Good tour but expected a couple more stops than what we did. Go during the week, as Friday& Saturday you will end up in larger groups and will have a hard time crowding in close enough to hear the tour guide. |

Although the lady giving the tour was a very sweet woman, the tour was not at all what we expected. All three of us agreed it was definately a waste of time and money, a big disappointment. |

My husband and I enjoyed the graveyard ghost tour. it wasn't scary at all--not that I truly expected it to be, but thought it might be eerie. It really wasn't. It was really neat to see the centuries old tombstones, and hear about local history. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others! |

The Ghost & Dungeon Tour started on time. We were broken up into smaller groups so that everyone could see and hear the guide. Our guide really knew her Charleston History and not only was the tour educational, it was full of opportunities to hear factual stories of how the ghosts that remain in Charleston today met their demise. Some cases are tragic, some cases are sad, and some cases are war related. I would recommend this tour for anyone who has a desire to know the history of Charleston or who has an overwhelming curiosity about the paranormal. We were able to capture several pictures with spirits; one of a child and some just orbs (which would be the older spirits). I intend to take this tour again, along with several more tours, with Bulldog, every chance I get. Well worth the money ... an enjoyable and entertaining evening to say the very least. AWESOME EXPERIENCE! |

This tour is a little different...not a ghost tour but a great historical tour! Lane did a wonderful job of supplying us with some lesser known history of the area. I thought it was awesome that he was able to recall facts and years so well. I would even take the tour again:). Great way to spend a night in Charleston |

I really enjoyed our ghost tour. Karen was GREAT! She is really into her job and that makes the tour enjoyable. Plus, she is just a genuinely nice person and that's easy to tell. The only thing is that the stories can get long. It's sometimes hard to stand for that long and listen to a long story. I find the material really interesting, I just get sidetracked if the story is TOO detailed and long. But I would definitely recommend this to others! |

The tour of the old city haunted jail was excellent. We heard stories about several ghosts who haunt the jail and learned about the disturbing lifestyle and punishment of the inmates. It was very intriguing and I would take this tour again! |

We had Franny as our guide and she was awesome! We actually took two tours from Buldog tours in one night and would have gladly done another the following night but had tickets to a show and no time to spare! We have been on ghost tours all over the south and this is one of the best! Franny was a great tour guide and very friendly. She seemed to know so much about the history and area. I would be willing to take the tour again...this time with my mom because she loves these kind of tours! See ya next time! |

If you wanna be scared, skip it. But if you want to spend an interesting hour and 1/2 learning a little Charleston history a bit on the dark side it is well worth it. Informative and entertaining. |

Our Tour Guide, Hoon Calhoun, was fantastic!!! He was so informative with Charleston history. He is such a good story teller and one can tell he is very passionate about Charleston...especially being cordial to those who have passed in it's history. Also, Hoon's sense of humor was great!!!
It was nice to have a local give us a tour because along the way he pointed out places to eat, even if it meant having a picnic in the graveyards/cemetaries during the day : ) Which we did go back to the next day to see the difference from night to day.
His use of pictures, from other tourist, really help to make the tour more believable about what people have experienced in those graveyards. Definitely glad we did this tour!! |

our tour guide, Glen, was great!!

Our tour guide, Glen, was very informative and kept us all listening and eventually breaking down the 'shyness' of our group. We started to ask more questions because he was very easy to talk to.
I just wish we toured more of the jail. We went to about 2-3 rooms and this included the art school downstairs. In the background the students were doing renovations and this really took away from the tour. I understand, being an alumni art student, that all time is crucial but we also took time (and money) to explore this area. There really weren't any artifacts/photos to look at of how the jail use to look or of any inmates. That would have been interesting and put us more in touch with what the inmates endured.
All in all though, Glen did a good job of telling us how it was when the jail was open. The best part of the tour were the real ghost stories that Glen and other tour guides have experienced. |

I have officially taken all of Bulldogs tours! They are amazing!!! All of our tour guides have been fantastic and seem to thoroughly enjoy their jobs. It is the biggest part of my trip to take a tour in Charleston. The Jail Tour was by far the scariest and so much fun for my group of friends! I cannot wait for next year to do them all over again! They truly live up to the name as best tours around!!! Thanks so much for the fun time!!! |
