Really, the Ghosts of Charleston were secondary to getting out late night and learning about the history of some of the people and places of Charleston. Now, how to explain someone's phone going off, with no actual call received recorded, every time the tour guide spoke about one of the ghosts?

this was my first trip to Charleston and I must say probably my favorite thing we did. if you are in to creepy old things that may go bump in the night you should check it out. it helped that our guide Braxton was awesome!

The history was interesting on the tour but the actual tour was bad. I expected an "old" jail not one being refurbished into who knows what with drywall and fake walls. The place is a school during the day and a "haunted" place at night after 6, Make it look original and I would give it a better score but its not scary spend your money on a better tour.

We booked this tour for our teenagers (age 17 and 18) on Friday the 13th. After the tour was over, the tour guide did not bring the girls back to the same place where the tour started, but instead just left them on a street corner to fend for themselves. The tour guide asked the girls if they knew where they were, which they replied no. She then rattled off directions and turned and walked away. Who leaves teenagers alone on the streets to find their way back in a strange city. Would not recommend this tour to anyone!!!

The walk was easy and the tour was great! Lots of history!

we thought we were going on a ghost tour ... but it turned out to be a history tour of the old jail the site was pretty cool & the history of the site was interesting BUT we just walked outside and then from room to room and just listened to the guide tell us the history - it wasn't scary, wasn't creepy and def wasn't a GHOST tour here's what could have made it better - have the guide tell her PERSONAL experiences of the building or giving tours etc - I'm sure each tour guide would of had MANY experiences to draw from - let us explore a given floor by ourselves - keep everyone quiet, - remind the other groups and people in a given tour to be QUIET during the tours - group size was too big (17 in ours) we found the guide talked more about watching this step or that step or go here or there then doing any actual ghost hunting ... the site had sooooo much potential but again was just a history lesson .... this was for beginners and had nothign to do with ghosts or ghost hunting - I was VERY disappointed

It was a decent tour. Some history mixed with some ghost stories. Certainly better than the jail tour.

We had a terrific tour guide. I believe her name was Mary. I think she knew everything about Charleston. It lasted about 2 hours so I really feel we got our money's worth out of the tour. Be prepared to walk. I would recommend bringing water with you, especially if it is hot.

Our tour guide, Jenny, was wonderful, very personable, gave not only informative info, but had a nice sense of humor also, Couldnt believe we had a 2 hour tour, it went so fast & was absolutely wonderful!

This walking tour takes you places that a trolley can't. Our guide (Joanne) was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. This is a slow paced tour that wasn't the least bit strenuous. I recommend comfortable shoes and carry a water bottle. There are no restrooms so start the tour relieved.

The tour was pretty boring and not scary. With the exception of visiting the dungeon which was interesting everything else was very mundane. Would not recommend. Take a carriage tour instead

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stroll! The tour guide,Faith, was knowledgeable and delightful.The variety of information kept the tour from being a mere history lesson and more like making history come alive! I heartily recommend "stroll" to anyone visiting Charleston.

We were really disappointed in the stories. An old jail opened for several years I'm sure has better stories than what we heard. And nothing about the whole tour inside the jail gave any 'Ghost' type feeling.
