The tour guide was excellent, very well informed and full of historical knowledge. He knew so much of the background history of Charleston, and I could tell that he enjoyed what he was doing. A great storyteller, he captured everyone's attention. He went above and beyond what was expected of him as a guide. You will not want to miss out. It is the perfect activity for any setting. The stories are very interesting, compels you to investigate even more. I am currently planning on purchasing a copy of the book, Ghosts of Charleston after going on this tour, just to find out more! |

Ian was our tour guide and it was like having your own History Chanel along for the walk. He was very knowledgeable about the area, and there were many times we would have passed by something unnoticed had he not stopped and given the background in amazing detail. This guy knows what he is talking about. We really enjoyed the trip.
I did recommend him on occasion while we were there. |

I not only learned about some of the ghosts of Charleston; but I also learned about some of its history. The walking is done at a leisurely pace. My guide was very knowledgeable about Charleston and the surrounding area; very easy to talk to and to understand. The tour started on time and he made sure that we all got back to the park area safely; since it was getting dark. I am now going to get the book and read it. I would recommend this tour to everyone. |

I've been traveling to Charleston my entire life and had never heard any of these stories before. I was glad to get a little variety, rather than the same old ghost stories that are known throughout the state. I did expect a little more hands-on tour, but the stories were fun and the guide was enthusiastic. While we saw a graveyard on our tour, I feel like there could be a separate tour for strictly graveyards around town. Overall, very interesting and something fun to do for the evening. |

I attended a tour with this group 5 years ago and it was the best I had ever been on. Today it sucked. Our guide went about is speeches so fast, you would have thought he had a hot date waiting. Taking us to the top of a parking deck and telling us a story NOT GOOD. Worse at the end of the tour you dumped us in the MIDDLE OF TOWN and then said GOOD LUCK finding you way back. By the way your tour information was too CURRENT. DO I have to buy another ticket to here the other half of the story!!!!!!!
STOP TRYING TO SELL THE BOOK AND TELL THE STORY WITHOUT HANDOUTS!! |

I really enjoyed this tour. I wanted to get more history and to be able to hear about it in this manner, was excellent. In fact, the next day I went and bought the book. |

This was an excellent tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Charleston. He was personable and a great story teller. The stories that were told were very intriguing and left one’s mind to ponder. Charleston, being an old city, is full of ghost tales and the historical buildings make the tales that much more believable. I recommend that everyone try this tour. |

Ian told his stories with enthusiasm, and we very much enjoyed the tour. Not really scary, but the history and info behind the stories makes these trips worth it for us. You don't read about the history in the normal channels. |

The guide told the stories in an as interesting way as possible, however, the walk was just a walk. Feel should have been taken into a cementery, and at least one building that was supposedly haunted -- the jail would have been an appropriate place to visit.
Certainly not worth the $20 cost for each participant . |

On these tours, the guide that you get makes all the difference. Our guide's name was Ian, and not only was he very engaging, but he had a tremendous knowledge of the history of Charleston and how it related to the various "ghost stories" he told. Also, no cheesy attempts at "scaring" the people on the tour. He told his stories with flair and wit. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable experience. If you take this tour, hopefully you will get Ian! |
