| I fully understand that the focus of such a tour is entertainment. However, try as hard as he did...Ben, simply over acted the part. It was really more a gore tour...than a ghost tour. More of the city ghost history and less of the ghoulish stories of fingers falling off would have made it a better experience. I think people wanted to believe they could see a ghost on the walk itself....not just stories of death in over acted detail.
The other issue was with the facts, as presented, many of the facts were simply lies. The seats in the theater are not from the early 1800's. These stories were obviously designed to enhance the experience, but in fact they insult the listener by asking him/her to believe something that's obviously not true.
Overall I Ben did a really enthusiastic job....and he clearly loves what he does....but his tour should be a bit more about ghost sightings...and a bit less about ghost stories.
I can't say I would go again....we've been to many around the country and yours isn't in the top 10, but with Charleston to work with, and some focus, it could be. |

| Our "guide" was a terrible story teller and told brief ramblings of his interpretation of the history of Charlotte. Never any mention of ghosts or "spooky stuff" we had hoped to hear. We basically walked around downtown Charlotte, stopping every once in a while on a stoop and listened to his bad stories. I would hardly call it a tour. At one point we found ourselves in a bank parking lot listening to his bad jokes. We were then guided to their "theatre" for what we thought was the big finale but instead we watched him try to light a candle for ten minutes until another group arrived. Then we were just sent on our way. I sort of feel scammed. Huge disappointment. |

| Words can not say what a waste of time this was! Please Please Please take my advice and try a different tour! I truely believe in ghost and I had a very hard time believing anything that was told to us. The only interesting story that we heard was about a place we didnt visit! A total waste of time! The guide even yawned while he told the stories! I wish I could get my money back! |

| Saturday evening I took the Charleston tour with 8 of my family members. Six tickets were purchased under Gerlich and two were purchased under Britting. We were greeted by Robert our tour guide. Our family was very disappointed with the tour. We spent most of our time listening to the ghost stories in several parking lots. We were no where near the homes and graveyards of the stories being told. Needless to say, we were not entertained. We were robbed of the experience we had expected. The tour would have been more effective if we were actually brought near the Inn where the torso ghost has been seen. Brought to the home of where the woman saw the friendly ghost and to the outside of the Circular Congregationalist Church. It was also stressful when we went to Poogans Porch and at least 5 tours were congregated to the same area. It was difficult to hear the story and focus on the tour guide.
I recently moved to the Charleston area and in good conscience would not be able to recommend this tour to visitors of the area.
I think the firm my have to reassess the flow of the tour.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time.
Warm Regards,

| FRANKLY, MY SISTER AND I WERE DISAPPOINTED BY THE TOUR. SHE HAD BEEN ON ONE IN BOSTON (A GHOST TOUR) AND HAD ENJOYED THAT ONE. BY THE END OF THE TOUR WE WERE CALLING IT THE THE 2 BLOCKS AWAY TOUR BECAUSE EACH TIME WE STOPPED THE GHOST WAS AT SOME POINT 2 BLOCKS AWAY. I THOUGHT THAT HALF THE FUN OF A GHOST TOUR WAS TO MAYBE GET A LITTLE SCARED AND HEAR GHOST STORIES. THE TOUR GUIDE WASN'T THE GREATEST STORY TELLER AND NEEDS TO LEARN TO HOW TO TELL A STORY SLOWLY AND WITHOUT SO MUCH JUMPING AROUND. IT DISTRACTS FROM THE STORY. I ALMOST THOUGHT THAT MAYBE THE TOUR GUIDE WAS USE TO GIVING ANOTHER TYPE OF TOUR AS WE STOPPED AT NON GHOST SITES MORE THAN GHOST SITES. THIS WAS DEFINITELY A THUMBS DOWN TOUR AND GIVES ME ANOTHER REASON TO SAY THAT TOURS ARE NOT WORTH A GRAIN OF SALT. I WILL READ THE BOOK BEFORE I GO NEXT TIME. MY SISTER AND I ACTUALLY RETRACED OUR TOUR AFTER IT WAS OVER TO FIND THE CHURCH WHERE ONE OF THE GHOST WERE TO HAVE BEEN AND THAT WAS THE GHOST ON THE COVER OF THE BOOK.
DON'T RECOMMEND THIS TOUR AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| I really liked the tour guide, very knowledgable, but i was not impressed so much with the tour. For all the walking that was involved, we didn't get to actually "see" anything. I'm not saying ghosts, necessarily, but we never went inside anywhere. We walked around, heard all the stories that we (my son and I) had read about...but never went anywhere but the sidewalks. I was not impressed. We would like to go on other tours, but are they the same? Because if so, I'm not spending $40.00 for the same, disappointing trip. |

| The web site made it look as if this were the best tour in Charleston, and that spaces were so limited you'd need to purchase tickets far in advance in order to get in on this tour. My family has gone on ghost tours all over the south, and this one was the worst by far. We were the only people in our group, our tour guide was less than enthusiastic, and the stories weren't so great, either. They could have been made better if the guide had felt more like putting effort into it. I suspect that the small group (of four) was disappointing to him as well. Never again. |

| The tour was okay but I am not sure I would go again. The tour started late and our guide person did not show up, so we had to go with another tour. The guide did a good job but he was hard to hear, I thought he would wear some kind of microphone but he did not. According to the reservation, he would be wearing a black shirt and carrying a book. He had on a white shirt and the book was not easily accessible. We finally had to ask if he was the ghost tour guide. We also thought the tour would be a little bit spooky but it was not. Just a walk through the city with a few stories. |
