The tour was the biggest waste in my entire life. Tour guide, Ian could not seem to keep his dates in chronologic order. It was impossible to follow his information. Some information lacked creditability. I would not reccomend this tour to anyone!!!

We wore comfortable shoes and still ended up with blisters. Lot of walking at a pretty brisk pace. So worth it. Heard a lot of interesting history. Guide was witty, funny and knowledgeable. Was enjoyable, you don't even have to believe in ghosts. Fun. Would do it again.

| The tour was good overall...It did start a little late due to checking in all of the people. I would like the guides to show up at least 20 minutes in advance not 10 as it was this weekend...the only reason I say that is we had dinner reservations at Peninsula Grille after the tour which we here slightly late for. I based our reservation on the time the tour would take and as the web site states the tour leaves promptly at 7:30pm....other than that the guide was very nice and informative. The route was good and going to the unitarian graveyard was a treat in the dark. I have lived in Chas. for 14 years and never took a tour until now. Glad I used this company and I have enjoyed several of Julian's books before.
Thanks

A group of us were visiting my sister in law, a Charleston local, and we decided to take this tour. The ghost stories were interesting enough, but we never went in any buildings, scary graveyards or anything. All of the stories were told on the street or in a courtyard near the building in which the story took place and we kept thinking we'd get to go in, but nope. Perhaps we didn't read up enough on the specifics, but we were very disappointed and were glad when it ended.

Tour started almost an hour late due to overbooking. The man over the tour was very knowledgeable. ( younger man who saw the ghost 18 yrs eariler) If not for him, this would have been a total waste of time. We would mainly stand in one place and hear many stories. Then we would move to another location and hear more stories. Basically we heard lots of stories but did not see many locations. I think we may have visited 3 locations. This was very disappointing! The tour through the cemetery was not what I expected. We walked in through a gate looked at one spot and then left. That’s it! We also ran into other tours and would have to wait. Another thing that really bothered me was that once the tour was over, the group was pointed in the direction in which the tour started, and then the guy left us there. We had never been to Charleston and were a little lost with no one there to help us.

We enjoyed our tour. Interesting stories and cool to have access to the graveyard. Would have liked some more ghost stories, but the guide was great and very funny. This is not a booooo tour if that is what you are looking for, but it is entertaining and very interesting.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the town, about the historic context of the city, and about the ghost stories surrounding the tour. He was very intellectual and humorous, which I found most entertaining. The tour takes you through the historic downtown Charleston and gives you the thrilling ghost stories promised, but also offers wit and enthusiasm for what they are doing. Our tour was 9:30 at night, and we had a fantastic time walking the streets, hearing the horrific tales, and seeing the proof that we needed to believe that ghosts do walk the streets of Charleston. I highly recommend this ghost tour for those who are not faint of heart and who like to mix the factual with a little mystery.

This was really a great ghost tour, and we have done them in numerous cities! We liked the factual/historical information instead of the silly actors that some ghost tours include. Our tour guide was VERY knowledgable about the history of Charleston and the background for the ghost stories. We definitely would recommend this tour...and the book, too!
