There are lots of ghost tours in Charleston, but this is the one to take. The guides are punctual, professional, interesting and knowledgeable about the "unseen" that makes this place so special.

Our guide was well versed in history and did a great job tying in the ghost lore. the walk was easy. we very much appreciated being able to take our well-behaved dog on the tour too. it's worth the fee and time to participate.

Our tour guide, Ian was rude, disrespectful, discourteous, and told only one ghost story for the amount of time we remained on the tour. He greeted my group from Houston with a sarcastic "Guess your cell phone isn't working." When I asked him what he meant, he said "You're supposed to be here 15 minutes early." The tour starts at 9:30 and we were there by 9:20. When we stopped by St. Phillip's to hear the ghost story about a young woman who lost her child and her ghost was photographed, he managed to insult the mother and daughter of the other party in the tour. When she innocently asked, "Are the church gates open so visitors can walk the grounds?" Ian responded with "Are you serious? Of course they're open when church is open. Were you kidding?" Excuse her for answering a logical question as the gates were locked at the time of the tour. When he was trying to show something about the ghost in a photograph, one of the teenage girls giggled and he said "This is not something to laugh about!" None of us could see what he thought was in the photo. The final straw however was when he asked one of my friends why she was so emotional about the story with the young mother and she told him she preferred not to talk about it. He persisted in questioning her. When another friend jumped in and asked Ian not to ask any questions, his response was a very childish "I wasn't talking about her, I was talking about me! I guess we won't talk about anything!" and stormed off. I was so stunned that I stopped in my tracks and we left the tour at that point. Tourists should be made to feel welcome, and Ian is definitely in the wrong job. I would like my money back and will be writing a letter to tour company directly.

I thought this tour did a great job at teaching you about the history and legends in Charleston. The guide was interesting and really knew a lot about the places we went. I also appreciate how the guide was willing to answer all our questions. I think this tour is a great addition to any Charleston trip.

The guide was prompt. He was knowledgable of facts pertaining to Charleston history and architecture, not simply local ghost lore. He was also enthusiastic and took the time to answer questions. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to experience an interesting evening strolling through the streets and alleys of waterfront Charleston.
