The Ghosts of Charleston Tour - Waterfront Park

The Ghost Tour of Charleston was certainly that of an educational adventure. We learned, not only of the local ghosts of Charleston, but also many historical facts that supported their possible existence. Our tour guide was especially knowledgeable on the subject. He was also very personable. I recommend this tour to anyone with common interests.

I was really excited about the tour, especially since it's based on the book, The Ghosts of Charleston. However, I felt more like I was at an architectural lecture than on a ghost walk. I heard maybe three ghost stories over 2 hours. I really think that if there was less chatter about doors and windows and more ghost stories i would have enjoyed it more.

We came hoping to possible see or even hear something that would make your blood freeze up. We were disappointed in that aspect, because nothing happened, that we know of. The information from our guide was very good, although rather on the dramatic side. He was much better when he was just talking and being himself rather than the exaggerated tour guide. We (I) should have dug a little deeper, and chose the tour for the jail and cemeteries ...... the really scary places we thought we were going to see. We only got to see the exterior of these places. We wanted to go inside, not just look in. Our next trip to Charleston will definitely include that particular tour, maybe some others, now that we know what to expect. We still had a good time. Weather was perfect, time was perfect. Would recommend it for the 1st time ghost tour. Thanks!

Guide gave excellent tour with much information that was easily understood and tour moved at speed that was easy to follow. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The tour guide was very animated, knowledgeable, and appeared to LOVE his job which made the experience FUN! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Started out pretty good, but some of the group quickly lost interest. This didn't bother us since we thought the group was too large anyway. Guide was quite irrated when some of the group left and he made some inappropriate comments. There were children in our group. Enjoyed seeing the city at night and our guide pointed out some interesting symbols. Thought we'd visit Poogan's Porch since we were only about a block away, but we didn't. The time passed quickly and didn't realize our tour would end so abruptly. Not sure what happened there. Even though our group wasn't very interactive, we were listening carefully. We were not guided back to the Waterfront, but instead were just left at the church and given very vague directions on how to get back. Hopefully everyone got back safely.

I have taken this tour with many of my visitors - probably 8 - 10 times. Each tour is a little different, even with the same guide so it never gets boring. I have also taken ghost tours by other companies and by far prefer this tour. - - - next time I have visitors, I'll do it again.

This tour was great, allowing you to get a different perspecitve on the history of Charleston. The tour guide was quite entertaining as well.

The tour was very informative and our tour guide was very enthusiastic; you could tell that he really loved doing his job!! I would highly recommend the tour for anyone who would like some Charleston history along with the more sinister and macabe details!
