A MUST while in Charleston!!!
Sun, Dec 7, 08   7:30 PM irvingj1 Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
This was the best tour I've ever been on. I'm not big on tours at all but I'm so happy we decided on this one! Our guide, Ian, was phenomenal! He was so animated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. We had been on one other tour during our stay that was also very good however the history and excitement that Ian gave us was so wonderful. Ian stated he had been a tour guide for about 15years and you could totally tell he loved the town he was in because he knew everything there was to know about Charleston. If you don’t do anything else while in Charleston you HAVE to do the ghost tour! The cemetery is awesome, the history of the stories is amazing, and the town is so beautiful at night. It was Wonderful!

Fun Ghost tour

My husband and I took the Ghost tour on Friday, December 5th and had a wonderful time. We both felt that the guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining as well. We learned things that we did not know about previously which always leaves us with great stories to tell our kids. We also had great weather considering we are from up North any weather is better than ours!! Zerve made it easy to book this tour as well. Thanks for a great adventure into the world of Ghosts!!!

Great Atmosphere for Ghost Stories
Fri, Dec 5, 08   7:30 PM whitneybea Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
This ghost tour was a great little interlude to my boyfriend and my long weekend in Charleston. My boyfriend is a believer in ghosts and supernatural, however, I am less convinced. But, this was a present to him and the tour guide and other people on the tour made it fun and spooky so I enjoyed it whether or not I believe in it... and I admit, some of the stories have me convinced that I could become a believer if anywhere in Charleston! The graveyard walk we went on at one site was incredible and historic and spooky at the same time. The tour guide was funny, tld a great story and was enthusiastic and knowlegable about the area. All around great fun!

Tour was ok.

For my taste the tour included too few sights. Be aware that most of your time will be taken up walking to the sights. When our tour was over our guide left myself and the 3 other women in the group about 4 blocks from our starting point and told us he would be fined if he talked to us any further. This was after he made it clear he accepted tips. Just not what I was expecting.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the ghost tour! The guide was awesome. The history and commentary were both equally enjoyable! The Unitarian cemetery is "to die for!" (Ha! ) We'll highly recommend this to all our traveling buddies.

a fun, UNordinary evening

I would highly recommend this tour to locals as well as travelers. I was able to learn about the history of Charleston and some of its early inhabitants from ghost-story characters. The end of the tour took place in the Unitarian graveyard (which was roughly 200 years overgrown) and it added a lot to the atmosphere. Lots of fun- even for non-believers.

The Graveyard was the BEST!!!
Tue, Nov 25, 08   7:30 PM slsmith71 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Our guide was very knowledgable about the city and history of Charleston. His story telling ability was absolutely absorbing; you just could not tear yourself away from his words. Each stop on the tour had extensive history where the guide captured your imagination and you felt you were back in time reliving the event. The graveyard was one of the best and eeriest that I have ever been in. I do not want to give anything away about the setting. One has to be there to see and feel the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the haunting of Old Charleston and its ghosts.

The tour was very thought provoking. I enjoyed the walk through dowtown Charletson. The guide was very knowlegable about the area and it's ghost.

Not what I had expected.

Our guide, I believe his name was Ian, was very informative as he took us around. The only disappointing thing was that we could only stand outside of buildings, except the cemetary, and here the stories. We were hoping to be in the actual dwellings of the places where the ghosts were seen. Thank you, Shary and Michael McGloin

Interesting Concept; Weak Execution
Tue, Nov 11, 08   7:30 PM hmumford Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
I was very interested in learning more about Charleston ghost stories. The presenter was knowledgeable but didn't stay "in character" during the tour which diluted the effect of the stories. The walk through the historic areas of Charleston was interesting but you get much more detail taking one of several carriage tours.

Informational, Beautiful Sights, Creepy Graveyard
Fri, Nov 7, 08   7:30 PM uwekseeler Male 30-39 Local Other
Our guide had been with the company for 15 years and clearly knew what he was talking about. If you are looking for a haunted house, scary masks and screams, this tour is not for you. If, however, you are interested in seeing some beautiful sights, hearing some interesting tales with some neat history mixed in this is for you. We started at the circular fountain and then made our way through dueling alleys, haunted storefronts, past cemeteries and finally concluded our tour with a visit into (yep, into) the Unitarian Graveyard. The Unitarian Graveyard was certainly the creepiest place on the tour. I enjoyed the walk through Charleston, the historical facts, and the great ghost stories, but don't expect people jumping out saying, "BOO!". Great tour for someone who wants a mix of storytelling and sightseeing.

Missed the tour

When I had originally booked the tour I thought I had entered it for 9:30 pm. I really did not look at my confirmation regarding the time. We went to meet for the tour and no one showed up. I then looked at the confirmation very closely and saw that it was for 7:30. I know the letter stated there is no refund and no rescheduling so we ended up losing our money.

We really enjoyed our tour and especially our guide Ian. He was very knowledgable about the places visited as well as history of Charleston. Only negative comment was wish that we visited more ghostly venues.

Boring Evening
Fri, Oct 31, 08   9:30 PM mkbroas Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Our tour guide was nice, but not very knowledgeable. We knew some of the stories better than he did. He did not have good story telling technique and he was unable to capture our attention. Basically we were just walking around Charleston in the dark with a group of strangers and occasionally stopping to hear a poorly told story which was more often than not incomplete and inaccurate. There are better tours available for the money.

Interesting but not exciting

Tour guide was very informative but not a good storyteller. For the price… buy the book and walk it yourself.
