Good History Lesson

| It was a good tour for all ages. It gives a personal touch to the buildings of Charleston. I personally would have liked to go into a building or graveyard to get a spooky feeling but our 6 year old may not have been okay with that. He was bored with the stories so I recommend age 10 and up. There are brick and cobblestone streets so you have to watch your step and wear comfortable shoes. There was a family that had 2 children in strollers and they had a tough time on those streets. So to sum up: small children will not be scared but may be bored, wear comfortable shoes, strollers are in for a bumpy ride, and enjoy the interesting ghost tales. | ||||||

Tourguide Ian Tries a Little Too Hard

| Ian was our guide and he's EXTREMELY knowledgeable about Charleston history and the ghost stories.... however, he tries too hard to be dramatic. Enjoyed the tour, but not nearly as much as similar tours in Savannah and New Orleans. | ||||||

Request a Non-Smoking Guide

| Our tour guide arrived five minutes early at the designated meeting place with a lighted cigarette in hand. He proceeded to smoke two more cigarettes while we waited for the remaining guests to arrive. My wife and I and our two children went off by ourselves and stood some distance away so that we didn't have to breathe in the second-hand smoke. Once the tour started, our guide put out his cigarette and didn't smoke during the tour itself, but he lit up again as soon as the tour was over. Although the tour itself was great and our guide was knowledgeable, exposing the rest of us to his smoking habit was inconsiderate and unprofessional. | ||||||

Guide wordy and interested in showing off

| This was our second "ghost" tour and the first with this company. We much preferred our tour last year. This year's guide, though quite friendly, was very impressed with his credentials, spent inordinate amounts of time telling only 3 "ghost stories". The children, delighted last year and anxious to repeat their experience, were bored. | ||||||

This is the only Ghost Tour You need to take

| This is one of the best Ghost Tours offered. All of the other tours and stories are based on accounts from his book. I recommend buying the book and doing your own self guided tour. It will save you both time (as you can take the tours at your leisure at night) and you won't have to buy other Tickets to hear the same stories again. If I may also recommend Black Cat Tours and their Ghost Show in their shop. Mark and Rebel are awesome. And take the Civil War Tour with Mike. | ||||||

| We have visited Charleston numerous times over the years and have always enjoyed self-directed as well as guided tours of Charleston's historic homes and churches. This was our first "ghost" tour. It was expensive, long and not terribly interesting. But most of all, it was short on touring and long on lecturing. Our 13 year old and 11 year old -- veteran tour goers -- got tired of standing in one place listening to the guide talk for 15 minutes nonstop. | ||||||

Interesting, But Fell Short of Expectations

| The ghost tour was interesting, but I thought we'd be going to different places that were advertised when I read about the trip. I thought we'd have more access to the places in discussion, but we didn't. And, although our tour guide was nice, I didn't find her particularly knowledgable - she seemed to have a script that she was sticking to. It all fell short for me. I'd go on another ghost tour, but would pick a different one next time. | ||||||

| We had a great time with Ian guiding our tour on Monday night 5/12. Thanks for being fun and informative. Ian - my pictures from the graveyard (where the girl was put in the crypt alive) have orbs in them, right where the crypt is!!!! | ||||||

| The tour guide was excellent, very well informed and full of historical knowledge. He knew so much of the background history of Charleston, and I could tell that he enjoyed what he was doing. A great storyteller, he captured everyone's attention. He went above and beyond what was expected of him as a guide. You will not want to miss out. It is the perfect activity for any setting. The stories are very interesting, compels you to investigate even more. I am currently planning on purchasing a copy of the book, Ghosts of Charleston after going on this tour, just to find out more! | ||||||

| Ian was our tour guide and it was like having your own History Chanel along for the walk. He was very knowledgeable about the area, and there were many times we would have passed by something unnoticed had he not stopped and given the background in amazing detail. This guy knows what he is talking about. We really enjoyed the trip. I did recommend him on occasion while we were there. | ||||||

| I not only learned about some of the ghosts of Charleston; but I also learned about some of its history. The walking is done at a leisurely pace. My guide was very knowledgeable about Charleston and the surrounding area; very easy to talk to and to understand. The tour started on time and he made sure that we all got back to the park area safely; since it was getting dark. I am now going to get the book and read it. I would recommend this tour to everyone. | ||||||

| I've been traveling to Charleston my entire life and had never heard any of these stories before. I was glad to get a little variety, rather than the same old ghost stories that are known throughout the state. I did expect a little more hands-on tour, but the stories were fun and the guide was enthusiastic. While we saw a graveyard on our tour, I feel like there could be a separate tour for strictly graveyards around town. Overall, very interesting and something fun to do for the evening. | ||||||

| I attended a tour with this group 5 years ago and it was the best I had ever been on. Our guide went about is speeches so fast, you would have thought he had a hot date waiting. Taking us to the top of a parking deck and telling us a story NOT GOOD. Worse at the end of the tour you dumped us in the MIDDLE OF TOWN and then said GOOD LUCK finding you way back. By the way your tour information was too CURRENT. DO I have to buy another ticket to here the other half of the story!!!!!!! STOP TRYING TO SELL THE BOOK AND TELL THE STORY WITHOUT HANDOUTS!! | ||||||

| I really enjoyed this tour. I wanted to get more history and to be able to hear about it in this manner, was excellent. In fact, the next day I went and bought the book. | ||||||
