The guide was an excellent story teller but our experience at the Unitarian Cemetery is beyond comprehension. Amazing!

Learned alot about the history of Charleston along with it's haunts. The stories were excellent. The graveyard was our favorite part...very, very creepy at night!

This is the second ghost tour I've taken in Charleston, and this tour so much better. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

We enjoyed hearing the history of the city. The guide was very animated and did an awesome job keeping our attention. We felt he spent too much time on the first story at the echol rock and could have included a few more stories along the way. It was also weird to hear stories about places we could not go to. He said something about zones didn't permit him to take us to the church cemetary included in the story about the lady with the baby. Otherwise it was enjoyable.

My daughter and I did a quick weekend trip (from Greenville, SC) to Charleston and Savannah for ghost tours. We had a great time at both. Our tour in Charleston was really good. We enjoyed our tour guide thoroughly. Excellent storyteller. Very captivating, friendly and knowledgeable. I thought his level of intelligence and detail of storytelling style might be a little over my 13-year-old daughters head, but she loved every bit. We would definitely recommend this tour. Especially the last bit in the cemetery of the church.

Enjoyed, but....

We had a wonderful guide, who was well informed with the areas we visited and who also added a bit of humor. There was no scare factor to the tour at all. One of the reasons I chose this tour was they promoted the idea that they would discuss the superstitions of the Gullah people. Well, one superstition was mentioned and that was the end of it. So why they added this as part of the tour promotion/write up, I don't know. I was hoping for some insight as I am doing book research. Also, although you take a tour of the cemetery (one you can see during the day and truly appreciate), you are only there a very brief time. The tour was a nice way to get a feel of downtown at night though.

Not much to see

It got off to a pretty slow start with a long story about a haunted carriage house we weren't going to even see. The leader was very nice, but sort of silly (he kept referring to us as "my pretties" and putting his flashlight up to his chin to make his face look weird). Several stories were long-winded, complex, and about things that happened outside of Charleston, but didn't have much to do with where we were standing. The scariest thing was the Unitarian cemetery, which is amazing, but the rest of it was fairly dull. My husband and I went on one several years ago that was much scarier and more geared to adults. There were only two children on this tour and I think even they were bored. My niece and I left the tour a few minutes early. Not impressive.

My daughter was home from school with three exchange students from Germany. The tour was fascinating and fun for all of us and the exchange students spoke positively about the experience for the rest of the weekend.

I grew up in Charleston and had never done one of the ghost tours. My 11 year old daughter wanted to go and so we did and everyone enjoyed it. Out tour guide was excellent--knowledgable, personable and very effective.

Our guide was very well informed and a good storyteller but the tour was really not scary and my 15 yo was bored. As an adult, I appreciated the history and I especially enjoyed the tour of the graveyard in the dark.

Tour with the grave yard included

Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgable, but I thought he tried a little too hard to be funny. We enjoyed the stories, and he certainly knew all the details. We had college/high school age kids, and they enjoyed it.

Ian was our tour guide. He presented each story with great enthusiasm. He is very knowledgeable and he really loves his history. I would definitely recommend The Ghost of Charleston Tours. P.S. The grave yard was really scary. I captured two floating orbs on film!

I made reservations but the group was split into 3 seperate groups. My group had one outspoken person that left early in the tour due to boredom. I would have left but i wanted to get my monies worth and hoped it would get better. IT DID NOT!!!!!!!!!!! The tour guide tried way too hard to make the guest feel comfortable. He told goofy jokes and played with his light way too much. I took this tour because of the recommendations from various television shows it was featured on. The tour was not worth a third of the money i paid. I would never recommend this tour to anyone EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps Why have reservations if your going to let so many customers sign up ??????????

Although it did rain on us, it actually felt great after a long hot day in Charleston. Our guide, forgot his name, was a World History teacher and so much fun. Very knowledgable and funny!! You should really do this tour when in Charleston, SC.
