Quick and short

We arrived a little early at our designated spot. There were no signs or guides around and it was very dark so we were not really sure we were in the right place. Our guide did show up on time, but he was smoking a cigar and continued to do so for the next 20 minutes! There were only 6 people on the tour so it was a nice size group. The problem was that the guide (Brandon) who told us he owned his own tour company and was just helping this one out tonight as a favor, seemed to be in a big hurry. He walked and talked extremely fast. There were about 4 or 5 good stories. He seemed to know his stuff and could have probably given a very good tour except for the fact he seemed to be in a hurry. Our tour that was supposed to last 80 minutes only lasted 60, so we were very disappointed in that. When the tour was over we were about 6 blocks from our car and where we started so he gave us quick directions back and then disappeared. Overall it had the potential to be very good, but it was a let down. I would only recommend this tour to a friend after I had warned them first.

My soon-to-be fiancee and I were the only participants during the Ghost Walk time for which we registered, and we were treated to an enthusiastic, engaging tour guide - a College of Charleston student who spent over an hour's worth of extra time with us, providing not only well-told ghost stories but plenty of other anecdotes about life in Charleston. He was highly entertaining and we enjoyed every minute!

tour guide was informative and entertaining, learned some of the history of Charleston, but the ghost stories were a bit weak and we expected to go inside some of the buildings not just walk outside, would have liked a little more subsatance to the tour...

It was not the most exciting tour but we were glad to have an activity that we could do with our two dogs.

Daughter age 13 liked it. Some people in group complained that the guide spoke too fast and rushed the tour.

We had such a fun and informative tour with Brandon. We learned so much more about the history of Charleston as well as the Pirates! It was a chilly evening, but he still took the time to answer all questions and show us pictures along with all of the information. We will use Brandon again the next time we visit :)

Best ghost tour I have been on in Charleston area.

I recently had a colleague/friend visit Charleston for the first time. We decided to sign up for a ghost tour. I was concerned that the tour might be bad, and send my colleague/friend away with not so fun memories of Charleston. I have been on tours by other companies that were so boring we almost walked off the tour. I have read your ghost book, and my husband recommended the tour because of Mr. Buxton. This tour was really good - I was pleasantly surprised! The guide was fun and knew his history well. My colleague/friend really enjoyed the tour too. We both had trouble sleeping after the tour... she in her hotel room and me in my house thinking about that headless ghost! The tour had alot to do with the guides fun attitude, knowledge of Charleston history, and honesty... I think his name was John.

Fun and Informative

Our guide was pleasant and affable. We saw some parts of Charleston we may otherwise have not seen. Perhaps the only awkward moments were when other tours showed up in the same spot which is likely hard to avoid in Charleston. Overall, we were very satisfied and had lots of fun.

A Boo-tiful Experience

The Ghost Tour was our first scheduled activity for our sisters trip to Charleston. Happy to report that it set the tone for what turned out to be a wonderful, memory-making trip and it was not too scary for our slightly shy sister, who was concerned about the fright factor. Our tour guide was very entertaining without being obnoxious. All four of the sisters enjoyed this just-right tour. Thanks so much.

A Waste of Money

Our guide was a college-age female who delivered the entire tour by rote, hurriedly, and without expression. She tried to do a good job, but lacked the necessary presentation skills to make the experience interesting. This tour was a complete waste of money!!

Ghosts of Charleston

Tour guide stuck to her script and seemed to want to finish in record speed. She knew her information but I could have read it out of a book for all the lack of personel attention given. I was disappointed and would have to think again about recommending the tour to anyone. In fact, I bought the book Ghosts of Charelston and did the tour by myself again the next day.

It was a great tour. I learned lots of interesting things about Charleston that I otherwise would not have known. The guide was a very engaging speaker, and was very knowledgeable in Charleston's history. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a fun walk through 300 year old cemetary's, graveyards, haunted houses, and old churches. Great time!

Wow. We were so looking forward to this tour. Then it was canceled. Totally disappointing. We will not book again online.

Great tour for Charleston history and fun too

This tour provided a good deal of history along with the ghost stories and associated jokes. The jokes were a little too cute, but the rest of the tour was fun.

Enjoyed hearing the ghost stories. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Would like to hear some updated stories, though. Most seemed to come from the 70s and 80s. Has anything happened since then?
