| we had a hard time hearing the person talking. The history was interesting but they could have done a better job telling the stories. It also would have been fun if we could have gone in some of the places where the stories took place. It was not worth the money. | ||||||

| I would not recommend this tour. We were very excited for it and it was NOT good. The tour guide was not an effective speaker. He had his facts down but his delivery fell short -- he paced back and forth, he was long-winded, he built NO suspense. I wanted to be scared a bit and instead we were BORED. I'd actually like my money back. It was bad. The tour guide was a nice guy - I actually kind of felt sorry for him because you can tell he was trying, he just wasn't gifted in this area. D. Ghost stories...at a distance

| Our guide was pleasant enough, and very informative/entertaining, but we had expected to actually be able to enter some of the "haunted haunts," in hopes of feeling a sudden chill or catching a glimpse of something in the corner of our perifery.... Much to our disappointment, though, our tour was limited to ghost stories told on the sidewalk. While they were wonderful stories, the total atmosphere of the experience amounted to a somewhat less than hair-raising walk under the relative safety of the street lights and palmettos. | ||||||

| After being left behind with four other people due to bad description of the location to meet (two fountains in the park), the tour guide just didn't seem to be too enthused once we caught. The stories were delivered half-heartedly at best. Then at the end after being turned around several times in a strange city, in the dark, the tour leader seemed utterly shocked that we might need directions back to where we started (thank goodness for the map we had). I am staying neutral because maybe one of the other tour guides would be better. | ||||||

| This was a great opportunity for a first timer to Charleston to get a brief history of the city while hearing some interesting and entertaining ghost stories. The stories our guide told were light-hearted for the most part. The walk was long enough to stop at several historic landmarks, but short enough that we weren't too exhausted to head to dinner afterwards. We would recommend this tour to others. | ||||||

| It was a fun trip, but instead of saying all of this happened "in there", it would be nice if we could actually go into those places. Otherwise, it was a good experience. | ||||||

A Nice Walk...through parking lots.

| This ghost tour was touted on the flyer as being the best in Charleston. Instead, it was a long, boring walk full of twice-told tales. The tour guide was a very nice guy but soft-spoken and tentative. We learned we were barred from residential areas and therefore paused in a lot of parking lots to hear the story of something that happened blocks from us. The tour guide provided no added value to the telling of a ghost story, seemed to tell it word for word from the book, and used vocabulary that the average tourist probably failed to grasp. I would have preferred a little more entertaining, a little less scholarly. We didn't hear, as promised on the website -- which I later accessed -- what has since happened to the handlers of the film purported to have captured a ghost in a graveyard. That would have provided added value. Everyone in my family was disappointed. And unless it was in fine print, the flyer didn't mention AAA, AARP, etc., discounts as I later saw advertised on the website. Thank goodness the weather was accommodating. | ||||||

| The tour was shorter than 80 minutes and when asked about the white ghost picture in front of a grave that is on your brouchure, the guide said that is not this tour. I have taken your tour before and it told the story of the ghost on the cover before. | ||||||

| Hi - The guy who gave the tour is a young guy and was talking and walking way too fast for some of the older ladies in the group who had also enjoyed some after dinner drinks apparently. He didn't really have a great storytelling talent...spoke with the rapidity and patter of a used car salesman actually. There's an art to building suspense and tension with tempo and dramatic pause in the kind of tales he was telling. He needs to listen to really good storytellers and hear more than just the story. Had a feeling he was rushing through it to be done with it. He was a nice enough guy and the information itself was interesting. | ||||||

| I had heard good things about the ghost tours given in Charleston from other friends and family members-they all recomended we give it a try. Our tour guide took us on a fairly fast pace for some distance before he stopped and gave a few facts about the spot we stopped. He was a nice young man, but not much of a guide. In total, we did much more walking and very little ghost talking. We stopped maybe 5 times for a very few minutes each time. The guide did not even take us back to the fountain where we had started the tour. (Remember, we are not Charleston natives and are not familiar with the city in the dark!) This is what I had expected: A slower walk with interesting ghost or strange history tidbits. I expected to be taken at least in sight of where the tour originally started. I know these are just for entertainment, but I feel ours was not entertaining enough and would not recomend it or go on another. | ||||||
