Had hoped for an engaging, scary ghost tour of Charleston. What we got was a perfunctory, canned speech at several stops over a 90 minute period. Guide was just "going thru the motions." All in our tour group (10 folks) were clearly bored and guide did not make any effort to engage the group or tailor his stories to the group. He had a prepared speech and delivered it. He was friendly, but couldn't mesh with his audience. (He seemed like he might be better on an architectural tour.) Unitarian graveyard was neat...but we were only there about 7 minutes...then he moved us on to the next stop on the sidewalk. Nothing scary about this tour and certainly not worth $40.

My wife and I are ghost enthusiasts and this was our first ghost tour. We had a wonderful time listening to the stories that Ian told. He had a flair for the dramatic. He knew how to use his skills to make the story come to life. We were going to go on another tour the next night but it rained. We would definitely reccomend this to friends and look forward to doing this again when we return to Charleston

We had a great time listening to spine-tingling stories of Charleston's ghosts. The guide was very knowledgable and very scary serious.

Our family enjoyed this tour. It was recommened to me by a friend and I would definitely recommend it to others. I would like to go back and do additional tours (The Ghosts of Charleston 2, and the Pirates Tour) the next time we visit Charleston. My son (age 11) purchased the book "The Ghosts of Charleston" and read it on the way home. He loved the tour!

Even the most skeptical will enjoy the history on this tour, and even the bravest may be a bit creeped out by the atmospheric, spanish moss-draped cemetary.

Top Notch Presentation

This tour has many positives - the story, the drama, the humor, and the city itself are all top notch. The meeting location, section of town toured, group size, and time are all perfect. However, what made this tour was the OUTSTANDING presentation by Ian. A truly professional appearance, approach, and presentation. Ian was dramatic at the right times, and funny when he needed to be. Friendly with all guests and contains a mountain of knowledge for the tour and the local area. The only negative - The end - The two hours we had was enough to satisfy the tour, but I could listen to Ian talk for an additional two hours - he is that good.

Great Storyteller

Make no mistake--this is not a scary trip. It is, however, an entertaining way to spend an evening. Our guide must have been a national speech and debate champion--his interpretation of the ghost stories of Charleston was priceless. This ghost tour gives you a feeling for historic Charleston and adds to your knowledge base. The tour ends in a Unitarian cemetery with a particularly poignant love/ghost story. An excellent location for ghostly communication!

The tour was amazing...the history involved in the tour was something I didn't expect. While I had my own ideas of what it would be like...it was totally different and more than I imagined it would be! I highly recommend anyone interested in ghosts to take this tour...it made my vacation to South Carolina well worth it!

I enjoyed this activity... historical and interesting. You're in the midst of traffic and people, so it isn't as "creepy" as you'd think, but it was still neat to hear the stories of the area.

This tour is full of both historical information and the fun ghost stuff too. The guide was full of enthusiasm and he made it so much fun. He would look everyone straight in the eye when he was telling the stories. It is a tour that I highly recommend. I will be taking this tour again when I go back to Charleston.

Great Tour - Better Tour Guide

My Fiance and I, who are both avid paranormal and supernatural fanatics decided while in Charleston to go on a Ghost Tour. We were both extremely excited and enjoyed the tour given by our very experienced tour guide Ian. He intertwined just enough whit and sarcasm to keep you entertained and his knowledge of the history of charleston was impressive. We were in a group of 10 and this was perfect! If you're not into the paranormal and supernatural i could see why you could leave a negative or mediocre review, but I couldn't give the tour and our guide anything less than a 5 Star rating. Definitely go on this tour!! Pray you get Ian!

Great tour guide

This was my first time in Charleston but I was with my mom and it was her third trip, second ghost tour. We both found the tour guide to be very enthusiastic and fitting to the part of a tour guide. Not only did he tell ghost stories but included a lot of historical facts about Charleston. This company is the only company in Charleston with permission to enter the graveyard site of one of the ghost stories - very creepy but very cool! There were a couple of kids on our tour and they were somewhat frightened but he was able to make them feel comfortable as well. Highly recommend this tour for your Charleston trip!

I enjoyed the tour with Mr. Phillips. He was informative and humorous, very interested. Definitely a little cheesey, but after living in Charleston for 4 years and never having been on a tour, I enjoyed it.
