Very Informative

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Charleston. He provided us with information that we would not have acquired on our own without hours of research. He summarized historical events in a classroom manner making it easly understood and interesting. The tour itself took us down main streetd, side streets, alleys, into buildings and viewing artwork and photos that pointed out historical and current Charleston lifestyles. We recommend it highly.

The guide we had was very informative, personable and really made the walk fascinating. The stops we made were just enough, the walk was enjoyable, and the stories were very interesting. We took the ghost tour on Halloween night, how great was THAT?!? I immediately recommended the tour the very next day to a local person working at Lowe's, who wanted to take his grownup son on the tour. I also told him how easy it was to get tickets online thanks to Zerve. If I ever get to Charleston again, I will definitely take the other tours this group provides! Thanks for a great time, even my somewhat skeptic friend who knows a lot about Charleston had a great time and learned a few things!

My family which consisted of my husband and two grown sons really enjoyed our historic walking tour. I would highly recommend it and I definitely want to return to Charleston. Our guide was very informative and really knows the history of the places we were taken. Most of all she was very enthusuiastic and really seem to love her job. What I really liked the most was the streets and alleys that she took us through. We would of never seen these if we had taken a carriage ride, although I am sure those are nice too. It was a fantasic morning, the weather was perfect for walking and we all had a wonderful family experience and made a great memory.

I took my sister on the ghosts of Charleston tour. It was alot of fun. Our tour guide was April and she was enthusiastic and very very friendly and sweet!! She was the best part of the tour. We took the latest tour so it was pretty late when we got done, I would recommend the 7:00 tour instead, it would still be dark but then you'd get out earlier. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Even for kids...it wasn't too scary for little kids!!

Interesting and informative but could be spookier.

We enjoyed the few ghost stories and the history which was pointed out but the walking part of the tour leaves something to be desired. It felt like we were walking aimlessly instead of walking a tour of a few spooky, haunted buildings/graveyards. That being said, it was certainly enjoyable.

My friend and I were in Charleston for 3 days for Blackbaud training, and wanted to go on some type of historical tour while we were there. Because we were in class until 5 pm every day, we missed the typical historical and carriage tours. We decided to try an evening Ghost Tour, and we were very happy with our decision. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and a good storyteller as well.

The tour guide was informative. The stories were told in a way that kept attention of us all, even our 10 year old son. Overall, the tour was a fun night out for our family. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Our tour guide was funny and friendly, while keeping that sense of mystery and fantasy that make ghost stories great. I noticed that he didnt sound rehearsed at all, and was very knowledgeable about the stories he told. He seemed to really feel everything he was saying. We were having so much fun we just wished it could have lasted longer! I have and will continue to recommend this program for others to enjoy. The girlfriend had a great time :)

Market saturation
Fri, Oct 13, 06   7:30 PM PSM123yh Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
There were other tour groups (competetive companies) at each stop competing for the limited audio capacity of an outdoor environment in a busy tourist town. This significantly diminished the ambiance of the "ghost tour" experience. The tour guide for this particular tour was mediocre at best. She had limited storytelling ability and the group (19 people) was too large for her to connect with.

Out of the three Buxton walking tours, The Ghosts of Charleston Tour was the best! Our guide, Kyle, was absolutely wonderful, very knowledgable, and a hoot!!! My husband and I, along with our two four-legged children, Sam and Libby, thoroughly enjoyed each tour and Kyle's true sense of humor and dedication to his job! We would not hesitate to recommend or book another Buxton Tour with Kyle!!!

The basis of the tour is a good idea. We had a new tour guide who was not proficient at telling the stories in an interesting way. I was disappointed.

A little disappointed
Fri, Sep 15, 06   7:30 PM casinelli Unspecified Unspecified Unspecified Unspecified
I was disappointed with the ghost tour. The guide seemed somewhat unprepared. It felt more like an historical walk and not nearly as informative as a carriage tour that we had taken earlier that day. For what it was, it was very expensive. The guide told one story that was not appropriate for the makeup of the group.
