NOT A GHOST TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Don't get me wrong, it was a VERY informative tour. Only problem we have with the tour was that it was NOT a ghost tour!!! The tour last for 1 1/2 hours. We heard a total of 4, count them, 4 ghost stories!!!!!! Most of the tour was information about the city. My family and I have been traveling to Charleston for the past 30 years. We have gone on historical tours of the city before and this time we wanted a GHOST tour. We weren't very satisfied to have yet another history tour!!! Our tour guide knew alot about the city. He was a very good tour guide for a historical tour, the only problem we had with him, other than no ghost stories, as a guide was that he was constantly criticizing other tour companies. We did not think that was very professional. I had a friend and her husband, who are locals, also join us on the tour. They had never been on a ghost tour before. They were not happy with the amount of "ghost" stories that they heard either. My sister used to live in Charleston. She had taken a tour before with another tour company and had heard alot of interesting stories. Next year when we go, we will be taking another ghost tour with a competitive company!!! Our guide kept talking about the other tour companies using "their book". If there were so many ghost stories in the "book", why did we not hear about them????!!!!!! | ||||||

| We thought we'd get a witty, fun tour of Charleston. What we got was walking around alleys, and some ok stories, told with little enthusiasm. The one graveyard we went to was neat, but it was so dark, you really couldn't appreciate it. The guide knew his stuff, but was uninteresting. People freaking out about the Palmetto bugs was more fun than the tour. | ||||||

| This tour was OK, but did not keep my attention. Guide talked more about history than ghost stories. Also repeated himself quite a bit. There were not that many locations we walked to,so it wasn't fast paced enough. The graveyard was great atmosphere, though. But, for the price, it didn't meet my expectations. | ||||||

| I recently took the 9:30 PM tour with friends while in Charleston on vacation and would recommend this tour to other visitors. I knew little about the history of this city and learned a great deal of interesting information about the alleged 'ghosts of Charleston' on this tour. We visited several sites of supposed ghost sightings and were told the related ghost story at each location, complete with a visit inside a graveyard. Our tour guide was funny without even trying to be and made the tour a memorable one. This tour is not intended to be scary in nature but I found it to be well worth my time and money! | ||||||

| Several good stories with facts about Charleston but the ghost stories were mediocre. Best part was the trip to the cemetary. | ||||||

| We have been on many ghost tours around the country ,and this one had to have been the best I have ever attended. Ian (our guide), was very lively..with a great sence of humor. He not only gave us ghost stories, but a lot of Charleston history to go along with it. It was obvious that he enjoys his job, as he was very enthusiastic about the stories he was telling. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Charleston, even if you are not into ghosts..you will get a great history lesson and have a lot of fun! | ||||||

| Silly me thought I was on a ghost tour, where ghost stories were told. In the hour and a half of the tour he told 2 stories. The rest of the time he spouted out history that had nothing to do with anything and tried to be funny by making as many puns as possible. I could have bought the book for the money that I spent on the tour and saved myself a big waste of time. | ||||||

| This tour was not interesting at all. With all the history in Charleston, surely more interesting stories can be found. We actually stopped by a house and the guide stated "This house is not haunted, but what if it was..." | ||||||

Not Enough Ghost Stories

| I went on the tour with a fellow local and a friend from out of town, and we all felt that Ian did not tell enough ghost stories. The tour was interesting, but it was mostly information about the city and general information on ghosts. We heard maybe 2 or 3 actual stories, and our tour that exceeded the usual tour time by about 20 minutes. The Unitarian Churchyard was great, but we spent way too much time there. | ||||||

Exciting & Informative Ghost Tour

| This tour began at the Waterfront Park at 7:30 p.m. With the darkening skies and looming showers, the setting was complete. The guide was excellent and very engaging. His knowledge of the area, along with his ability to present the information, kept everyone in the tour group engrossed. Walking through the alleys, seeing the symbols from days gone by that were used in an attempt to ward off the spirits and then moving on to the cemeteries and hearing a personal account with a well-known Charleston ghost made for a most informative and exciting evening. We snapped a couple of ghostly photographs that our tour guide has asked us to email to his office. We will do so as soon as possible. We will recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Charleston. | ||||||

| The tour wasn't scary at all, but the tour guide set a slightly eerie and spooky tone for the tour. I liked that the purpose of the tour wasn't to scare the audience because that would've made it cheesy and amusement park like. Instead, the tour guide was a wonderful story teller. He was extremely informative and knowledgeable about the history of Charleston. He also cared if he could be heard by the entire group. It was nice that he was so concerned about the quality of the tour. The guide tells ghost stories of the area as he escorts you to each place. In fact, the tour ends in a graveyard, which is really cool. If you find history fascinating then you'll really enjoy this tour. It was a really nice walking tour of Charleston as well. We did this our first night there and it helped us get familiar with the area for the rest of our trip. This tour definitely wasn't a waste of time. You'll walk away with interesting facts about the paranormal activity that is intertwined into Charleston's history. | ||||||

| Not only was the Ghost Tour a fun experience, it was also a real lesson in the history of Charleston. The late tour, after dark, was a thrilling adventure! Just know that when you are standing in the dark, dark cemetary, you are not in Disney World and those are REAL spider webs right above your head with REAL spiders! Ian was a great tour guide and a great story teller....making the tour enjoyable and very worthwhile! Be sure to buy the book as you will want to learn more on your trip home! | ||||||
