Thoroughly Enjoyed Ourselves The Ghosts of Charleston Tour - Waterfront Park |
|||||

| Our tour guide was Ian, who might I add was very knowledgeable on life (and afterlife) of Charleston during the times of the Revolution. This tour is suitable for children being it's not scary but informative. It did take a fair amount of walking but there were frequent stops and at least 1 opportunity to sit down for a few minutes while he was telling about a site. Other than dodging traffic and moving out of the way of an occasional car in an alleyway I didn't experience anything that could have been an inconvenience. Loved it! | ||||||

| Highly recommend for an entertaining evening. We had hoped for more information...there was more walking than ghost stories. All in all it was a fun time! | ||||||

Excellent Tour - The Guide was Great The Ghosts of Charleston Tour - Waterfront Park |
|||||

| Our tour guide was a local Global History high school teacher who was energetic, very friendly, great with the one litle girl who accompanied the tour, was very knowledgeable of the area, and held the attention of the group for the entire time. He sprinkled in historical facts but was very focused on the local stories as they related to the "spirits" haunting the Charleston neighborhoods. The group size was perfect and not overbooked like some other similar tours in the area. The guide ensured that we were all within earshot before speaking and frequently asked if we had any questions. I would highly recommend the Waterfront Park Tour............ | ||||||

| The ghost walk doesn't make you shake in your shoes or anything, but it's interesting and it gives you some interesting history of the South. | ||||||

| I loved the tour and even got my book autographed! I especially loved concluding the tour in the theater, with the lights out, listening to the brutal story of the poor man beaten to death at the Garden Theater. I even ended up in the 'haunted' seat! GReat tour, great guide, lots of fun! | ||||||

| The tour was outright NOT SCARY AT ALL...... the guide was really nice and really knowledgable, but the content was not scary, creepy or in any way "ghostly". It was more historical in nature.... my 10 year old niece could tell scarier ghost stories.... | ||||||

| all this tour consisted of was a history lesson. there was nothing remotely scary about it. the leader walked us around a block, and told a couple of stories (more history than horror) about some buildings that we were not allowed to go in, or even near. We literally heard stories about buildings that were not even in our eyesight. very disappointing!!!! | ||||||

The very best tour guide we have ever had. The Pirates of Charleston Walking History Tour |

| Rodney, the tour guide was not only personable but very well informed and communicative. Our 7 year old grandson kept up with him the whole way and that is all he talked about on the trip home. We not only learned about pirates and their impact on Charleston, but also some great history. We have told many people about this tour and Rodney. He is a true gem. | ||||||

| I've lived in Charleston my entire life, but I've never taken a ghost tour. This was fabulous! I had a large and rowdy group of friends in town and I was worried they wouldn't settle down for the tour, but they all loved it. Very satisfied! | ||||||

boring and embarassing The Ghosts of Charleston Tour - Waterfront Park |

| I invited some friends to join my husband and I to take the tour. They were local residents, we were from out of town and had read about the tour in Southern Living. We were all excited and looking for an lively evening of charm and history. We all love history and our friends were eager to learn about the historical "spirits" of their adopted town. Our guide showed up inappropriate dress of short-shorts and delivered her corny script in a monotone. The overpriced event left alot to be desired. And I felt let down plus I was embarassed that I had talked my friends into going. We obviously picked the wrong tour group. | ||||||

| I had high expectations about the tour, so I thought I would fell let down. That was not the case. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told good stories, both ghost and historical fact and trivia. The only negative comments I have is that we left at least fifteen minutes late and fifteen or more minutes was spent with the history of the settlement of Charleston. I would have rather had fifteen extra minutes walking around and having an extra story or two told. | ||||||

Save your money The Ghosts of Charleston Tour - Waterfront Park |
|||||

| I have taken a ghost tour in two other towns and they were fun, exciting and kind of scary. Maybe it was just the guide we had for this one, but he only told 4 ghost stories, from a historical point of view and the rest of the time he told us history and architecture. Yeah yeah, all that was great, but we got that on the carriage tour we took earlier. We wanted ghost stories! Charleston is one of the most haunted places in America and he wanted to tell us about the great earthquake and how you can tell how old the buildings are. BORING. The tour started at 9:30 and was suppose to end at 11:00. At 11:45 we slipped away from the crowd and headed to our car. Our feet were killing us, the mosquitoes were feeding on us, and I just couldn’t take any more about the construction of Charleston. I honestly want my money back. So save yours, take the carriage tour during the day and find a real ghost story company for night. Good luck! | ||||||

| The tour leader was a college student who was very enthusiastic about her job. She had some good stories to tell. Even though I am a sceptic, I enjoyed the walk through old Charleston and enjoyed the stories. | ||||||
