Fun Night Walk Through Charleston
Sun, Oct 19  7:30 PM rickdonnelly Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Frank was a good guide. He seemed to be enjoying the tour as much as we did. It wasn't scary and nothing jumped out at us. But we learned local history about pirates, local legends, and took a tour through a graveyard. Frank spent a lot of time with each different story he told us. So we came away with a good understanding of the history of Charleston and how the history impacted the ghost stories we heard.

Not worth the money

A lot of walking and not so much in terms of terms of the rest of the experience. The one saving grace was that the guide took inside a grave yard. It was raining which added to the ambiance. Other than this stop, the tour was not particularly interesting.

Started out at the battery fountain and great story on Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. One I had never heard before. Route encompassed a couple restaurants and a few churches....and of course a grave yard. All in all very entertaining!

Austin did an excellent job. Our group was an adult and four 11-year old boys for a 7:30pm tour. He catered the tour to the audience. Timed stories to when church bells rang (very cool effect) even pointed out a black cat walking in a graveyard (boys were creeped out) . Had great enthusiasm. Displayed mindful depth and breadth of Charleston, from stories to buildings. The stories he shared were not cheesy, and were offered in a manner that allowed for personal interpretation (believers or non-believers). Used his I-Pad as a visual aid in some of the stories. The fact that this tour agency gets access to the Unitarian graveyard is HUGE. We walked past many of the other tours just standing at the gates, while we walked in. By happen chance, the church Sexton gave us a brief tour of the inside of the church as well. Kids loved it tour.

Tour guide was courteous and nice, but not very apt for the role. He tried to be spooky and mysterious, but it was somewhat forced. Was overall disappointed.

Mr. Cody provided a very in depth and detailed trip into Charleston's history. Not only was he rich and passionate about the city he was also very polite and took great care to explain every detail of our surroundings and to every question asked. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the downtown Charleston area to share in this experience.

Historical ghost tour

The tour was interesting. Our guide was a little too dramatic for my taste but the others in our group liked it. The best part was the tour of the cemetery. Without the cemetery I would not give the tour 4 stars. The guide was entertaining.

A big shout out to Frank who was a wonderful tour guide. Not only did we have a ghost tour, but learned a lot about Charleston 's history. Meeting at the Waterfront Park was easy to find and relaxing, as we just spent a few hours dining and shopping before our 7:30 tour. Being able to enter into the Unitarian Church's graveyard just as it was getting dark added to the mystery and fun. The tour held the interest of our two teenage boys and they also liked Frank's energy and presentation. Great job!

We enjoyed the ghost tour! Our guide Cody was very informative and made it interesting. We were able to hear stories/history about places in Charleston that you wouldn't get to hear otherwise. We would definitely recommend going on the tour!

Found guide to be knowledgeable but delivery was very poor. Not very animated. Disappointed in the tour- not very spooky at all. I've been on a better tour a few years back. Not recommended.

Ghost historical legend tour of Charleston

My wife and I enjoyed the tour given by Cody along the Charleston streets and hearing his stories and anecdotes. It was entertaining as well as educational such as hearing the stories of the pirate hangings and the photo of the woman kneeling at the gravestone with her child. if he had turned off the lights in the graveyard that would be more scary. :-)

A little hokey and not very entertaining
Mon, Jul 21  9:30 PM Sbarnett6 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Our 13 year old thought this would be a fun, entertaining activity while visiting Charleston. My husband and I consented, thinking we'd hear some interesting local stories about perceived ghosts. We were only told 3-4 stories and they were long and drawn-out with not much connection with what we were seeing (two were related to graves that we couldn't even see in the graveyard from outside the gates). The tour guide did provide a few basic history facts that were interesting. We entered one graveyard at which the tour guide took out her phone with a "spirit detector" - she totally lost us after that. I'm not sure exactly what we were expecting but this was not worth the time or money. Even our daughter thought it was pretty unexciting. === SELLER RESPONSE === Our goal is for every guest to have an excellent experience on our tours. We are sincerely sorry that wasn't the case on this tour. Your guide that evening has a solid reputation as a knowledgable and engaging storyteller. However, she was suffering from severe back pain which unfortunately negatively impacted the quality of your tour. She is currently taking time off to recover and heal. Please contact us so we can make this right.
