Ghost tour

| I did not like the tour guide, who spent more time telling random facts rather than ghost stories. On our 80 minute tour, only 3 ghost stories were told, and we were taken on random routes throughout the city. I have been on several ghost tours in various cities throughout the US, and this was by far the worst ghost story. Normally after a tour, I feel that I have learned a lot of history about the city. After this tour, I did not get this feeling. Our tour guide spent the last 30-40 minutes telling us his own personal story, and it was so strange and not at all in keeping with the description of the tour. I was very unsatisfied by this tour, and would recommend any other Charleston ghost tour over this comapny's. | ||||||

| It's a great family activity, but if you're REALLY into ghosts and want something a little more in depth and hands on, this probably isn't the tour for you. It's great for an overall history and walkabout and especially for families with kids. | ||||||

| When I had originally booked the tour I thought I had entered it for 9:30 pm. I really did not look at my confirmation regarding the time. We went to meet for the tour and no one showed up. I then looked at the confirmation very closely and saw that it was for 7:30. I know the letter stated there is no refund and no rescheduling so we ended up losing our money. | ||||||

| If you have never been on a ghost tour, this is a fun thing to do. However, we have been on a few of them in other cities. St. Augustine Florida has the best tour we have been to. On this one the stories were long, and there were not enough stops. | ||||||

| I had high expectations about the tour, so I thought I would fell let down. That was not the case. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told good stories, both ghost and historical fact and trivia. The only negative comments I have is that we left at least fifteen minutes late and fifteen or more minutes was spent with the history of the settlement of Charleston. I would have rather had fifteen extra minutes walking around and having an extra story or two told. | ||||||

| Our tour guide (Ben) was very enthusiastic and a great speaker. In addition to the Ghost stories, he gave us a lot of very interesting facts about history in Charleston. | ||||||

| Saturday evening I took the Charleston tour with 8 of my family members. Six tickets were purchased under Gerlich and two were purchased under Britting. We were greeted by Robert our tour guide. Our family was very disappointed with the tour. We spent most of our time listening to the ghost stories in several parking lots. We were no where near the homes and graveyards of the stories being told. Needless to say, we were not entertained. We were robbed of the experience we had expected. The tour would have been more effective if we were actually brought near the Inn where the torso ghost has been seen. Brought to the home of where the woman saw the friendly ghost and to the outside of the Circular Congregationalist Church. It was also stressful when we went to Poogans Porch and at least 5 tours were congregated to the same area. It was difficult to hear the story and focus on the tour guide. I recently moved to the Charleston area and in good conscience would not be able to recommend this tour to visitors of the area. I think the firm my have to reassess the flow of the tour. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time. Warm Regards, Stacey Felenczak | ||||||

| The web site made it look as if this were the best tour in Charleston, and that spaces were so limited you'd need to purchase tickets far in advance in order to get in on this tour. My family has gone on ghost tours all over the south, and this one was the worst by far. We were the only people in our group, our tour guide was less than enthusiastic, and the stories weren't so great, either. They could have been made better if the guide had felt more like putting effort into it. I suspect that the small group (of four) was disappointing to him as well. Never again. | ||||||

| Perhaps my son and I just got unlucky, but for a ghost tour this was a real sleeper. A second guide did not show, so we wound up with a large group. Not a good sign. I have been on many tours before and everything is in the way the story is told. Our guide had no finesse in story telling and at one time while we sat in a park, I fell asleep. Perhaps he was bored with his job, but I would say, get another job. The greater disappointment was in the locations as to where he told the stories. 3/4's of the time we were in parking lots, somewhere near a location where something might have occurred. Other times we were several blocks from a home or church where there was a viewing of a ghost. I was told on the phone we would visit cemetaries and, yes, we visited them in the stories. Next time I will be more specific. If you like to take walks through Charleston in the dark I would buy the book and review it as you walk, but save your money by not going on the tour. | ||||||

| Some interesting stories, but always told from the outside (i.e. for some reason we were always standing outside of graveyards listening to stories as we watched people on other, presumably better, tours walking through the graveyards). Somehow, standing near an allegedly spooky place (or not even anywhere near it, in a few cases) while listening to a story of something that happened there doesn't really get the job done. This tour could have been accomplished as story time in a library with far less effort required, and without losing much in the way of experience or content. I strongly recommend choosing another tour. So did my hotel's concierge, and I wish I would have listened to her. | ||||||
