Tour Charleston, LLC

My husband and I took the tour with our eight year old son. I felt it was a waste of money. I had visited Charleston a number of times before but it was a first for my husband and son. The guide was not very friendly and obviously not a people person or had been doing this tour WAY too long. He seemed bored. His effort to entertain and inform us fell flat. I would NOT recommend this tour. He might have been knowledgeable but I didn't hear it. I knew more information than he gave. He didn't seem to care about his "paying customers". We had an over weight couple who had a hard time keeping up with the pace he set but he wouldn't slow up for them. My suggestion to the company would be to retire him! and hire an enthusiastic college student.

I enjoyed the tour with Mr. Phillips. He was informative and humorous, very interested. Definitely a little cheesey, but after living in Charleston for 4 years and never having been on a tour, I enjoyed it.

I've been traveling to Charleston my entire life and had never heard any of these stories before. I was glad to get a little variety, rather than the same old ghost stories that are known throughout the state. I did expect a little more hands-on tour, but the stories were fun and the guide was enthusiastic. While we saw a graveyard on our tour, I feel like there could be a separate tour for strictly graveyards around town. Overall, very interesting and something fun to do for the evening.

Don't get me wrong, it was a VERY informative tour. Only problem we have with the tour was that it was NOT a ghost tour!!! The tour last for 1 1/2 hours. We heard a total of 4, count them, 4 ghost stories!!!!!! Most of the tour was information about the city. My family and I have been traveling to Charleston for the past 30 years. We have gone on historical tours of the city before and this time we wanted a GHOST tour. We weren't very satisfied to have yet another history tour!!! Our tour guide knew alot about the city. He was a very good tour guide for a historical tour, the only problem we had with him, other than no ghost stories, as a guide was that he was constantly criticizing other tour companies. We did not think that was very professional. I had a friend and her husband, who are locals, also join us on the tour. They had never been on a ghost tour before. They were not happy with the amount of "ghost" stories that they heard either. My sister used to live in Charleston. She had taken a tour before with another tour company and had heard alot of interesting stories. Next year when we go, we will be taking another ghost tour with a competitive company!!! Our guide kept talking about the other tour companies using "their book". If there were so many ghost stories in the "book", why did we not hear about them????!!!!!!

I have participated in three Walking Ghost tours and this one was the best. If you like Ghost Stories, with a little history mixed in, you will love this tour. I would not recommend bring young children. My wife and I took this tour and we both agreed that it would have scared our kids.

Was a good tour with lots of information but not scary and didn't seem to follow same guidelines set in advertisement through the company; was hoping it to be a little more aprehensive with the "GHOST" theory; also not as many stories told as was first thought from the add either. Overall ...good .......recommended for the family style so as not to scare children but not as 'spooky' as would have likened to hear and see.

The other tour guide smoked in the middle of the group - yuck! Our tour guide did a nice job. It was fine.

This tour was not interesting at all. With all the history in Charleston, surely more interesting stories can be found. We actually stopped by a house and the guide stated "This house is not haunted, but what if it was..."

Our tour guide, Danny McGee, was great! He was friendly, very knowledgeable, and had a wonderful sense of humor. I recommend him highly -- I'm glad he was our guide.

historically spooky - enjoyed by kids and adults.

This was our second "ghost" tour and the first with this company. We much preferred our tour last year. This year's guide, though quite friendly, was very impressed with his credentials, spent inordinate amounts of time telling only 3 "ghost stories". The children, delighted last year and anxious to repeat their experience, were bored.

Very knowledgeable guide, did not try to "scare" us Had a small group including my young daughter, she enjoyed it as well. I liked the photos and diagrams he showed us to better explain his stories Recommend for family ghost tour.

I have family that live in Charleston and have been doing ghost tour for several years now. I keep going back to the Ghosts of Charleston Tour. It seems to be the best mix of history with ghost stories. This past time I went with Ian and he was a great tour guide, very funny and informative. And the new ending to the tour where they bring you into an actual grave yard was an awesome ending. The stories are fun but actually going into the graveyard was extremely creepy. I even had a small experience. While Ian was telling us the story I saw a figure sweep across the corner of my eye on the left side. When I looked over, there was nothing there, but we also brought my dog with us and her attentioned seemed to be directed over in the same area. Then a woman in our tour let out a big gasp. After the tour she came up to us and thanked us for bringing our dog because she saw the white lady in the same area I had seen something and when the ghost saw the dog she disappeared??? Very interesting and creepy! But overall again this is the best ghost tour in Charleston!
