Loved the history, met some great people. Things were ordered well, good amount of walking, and got to see most of downtown Annapolis while we were at it. A great way to spend an afternoon if you live anyhere close.

we have a great tour with Jillian. She is a history teacher who was very enthusiastic and informative. The group size was perfect and we were thrilled & impressed with the restaurants we visited. the food was delicious and the hosts at each restaurant were attentive and gracious. although every restaurant we visited was wonderful, Our favorite restaurant to visit was Piccola Roma. Here the owner Mark spent an extended amount of time with us explaining the history of the restaurant, the art work, the special drinks paired with the artwork, the food- his passion for his craft was evident. We made friends, had fun and enjoyed mouth watering foods. I can't talk about it anymore- my stomach is growling!

I was concerned with a lot of walking in the heat but it was well spaced out. Places we ate at were friendly and the food was excellent. We actually went back to two of them later in our visit to dine. The group we were with really clicked which made it even more enjoyable. I would do it again.

We always enjoy the food tour. Marc Lucas' restaurant in particular was a wonderful stop on the tour!

We had a wonderful day weather wise for this walking tour. Our guide Stephanie was very knowledgeable and provided interesting social history as well as cultural and historical. She must have read every book out there. The food was wonderful and well picked out and the restaurant owners took time out to talk about the food. If you want to go on a history tour trade in the tour with the dressed up leader for this one with wonderful food.

Fun tour for a small group

I am from Maryland, but moved to Annapolis almost 2 years ago. I went on this tour with my husband and another couple, and we all had a lot of fun. We were able to try some different foods while learning a little bit about Annapolis. On our tour, we had popovers at Treaty of Paris; sangria, beef carpaccio, and other tasty bites at Piccola Roma; duck confit pasta at Harry Brown's; coconut shrimp and cream of crab soup at Federal House; oyster shooter at Middleton Tavern; and ice cream at Annapolis Ice Cream Company (I think). There was more than enough food for a meal, and yes, some of the food was a little adventurous, but if I went on a food tour to eat hamburgers and french fries I would be disappointed. There were a few minor snags getting 10 people to 6 different places to eat while also touring other key places in Annapolis on a busy Saturday afternoon, but nothing that detracted from a very nice day. Overall I would recommend this to a friend.

Who knew Annapolis had such fantastic food! The combination of food and history made for a wonderful afternoon. I now see many afternoons in our future sitting on the patio of Piccola Roma and drinking Sangria :)

The tour in general was okay, but two things stood out to me that needed improvement. #1- the tour guide, while knowledgeable in history, was not very energetic. For one thing, she complained about her other job (teaching) for the majority of the trip. It so happened that many of the people on the tour were also teachers, but I still don't think they all wanted to hear her talk about how terrible her students were for much of the tour. It seemed to come up at every stop. In addition, she was not enthusiastic about the food, and not only that, she turned her nose up at a lot of it saying she wouldn't eat it! That just didn't seem right to me...it was like she wasn't in support of the foods herself... #2- Some of the foods served were odd foods....considering we had no choices of what to try at the places. For example, at one place they served raw beef, at another a duck pasta, and at another raw oyster shooters. Out of the 8 people in our group, I noticed that MOST people were not eating the food served. Some tried it, but seemed leery. I was surprised, because I didn't think the food served would be so adventurous, especially since there weren't other options of things to eat. In summary, I am glad I took the tour and think it is a great idea...I only wish I could replace the tour guide and some of the dishes!

My husband and I came from Baltimore to come on this food tour. We choice this over seeing Andrew Zimmern at the Hippodrome. We love history and found this tour to be very satisfying. Our guide Stephenie was very funny and knowledgeable. The restuarants we went to very great and the food was amazing. The serving size of the foods were very generous. This food tour has opened my eyes to what Annapolis has to offer and I know that my family and I will began to take advantage of the sights and activities that Annapolis has to offer. Thank you so much for offering this type of resource to us.
