Great date--and we learned something, too!

My fiance and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary in Annapolis. I was looking for something unique for us to do. We took the Walking and Food Tour and had our own personal docent. What a lovely tour it was and the food was very tasty. Our guide was personable, entertaining, and very knowledgable. It was a perfect day for a tour and very much worth the price! The only thing that would have made it more perfect would be to add is a pint of grog at the end!

My wife and I spent the weekend in Annapolis in Nov. 2009. We decided to learn about the city and eat some food as well. The tour was very informative and fun. The leader, Susan was fantastic and very personable and fun. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to learn some neat things about Annapolis history and just have a fun experience.

The tour guide did a great job of representing the people of the colonial era while also really relating to each and every participant in the tour. The amount of food was good- not too much, not too little and a good variety. Each of the shop and restaurant owners were friendly and happy to see us and share some history, too.

A Beautiful Delicious Day Out!

I met 6 or 7 friends for the tour and we all agreed that it was delightful! We learned so much about the colonial days in Annapolis while enjoying some excellent samples of a variety of dishes. The food was perfectly ample - almost too much! Since my distant cousin lives in and gives tours of Sands House, and many of my ancestors had ties to Annapolis, there was an extra personal charm for me.

Exceeded expectations, excellent value

Highly recommend to others. The quality of the tour was largely due to our guide, who was top-notch and courteous, not a dull moment on the entire tour. My wife and myself (form PA) were joined by another couple (from GA) and our guide (5 total in group). Did not feel rushed at any time on the tour. Immediately impressed with warm reception by guide at meeting place, the audio receiver and earpiece provided (necessity when walking thru town), courtesy bottled water and coffee. Tour office surervisor checked two times to make sure everyone was satisfied. Each destination was ready for our arrival and all involved were very friendly and open to questions. Food / drink samples at various eating establishments were great. We returned to Irish restaurant across from State House for lunch following day. Will return to restaurant at Maryland Inn again in future for popovers. Two suggestions for improvement: 1) Provide larger bag at beginning of tour to hold bottled water and misc. trinkets provided by restuarants along the tour; and, 2) add color coded depiction of historic landmark plaques on map handout with key / legend to show time period. In the words of our guide, Marco, all of the above Tis True, Tis True!

The idea of incorporating food stops into a city tour brought a fresh and unique twist. I found the colonial guide to be entertaining along with great anecdotal tales. At the conclusion of the tour I was well fed and "full up". The pop overs near the end of the tour were outstanding! One should not miss this tour.

The food tour was a great way to see Annapolis. We got just enough info about each location - not exessive details, just the right amount of time to enjoy each stop. The food was diverse and was a great way to break up the walking. We enjoyed having the ear pieces so that we didn't have to constantly surround our guide. It gave everybody a little room to spread out. Very entertaining - lots of fun!

interesting historical facts-delicious samplings

Our guide was very good. She really got into her role of living in colonial times. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We sampled a wide range of foods-some were recipes from colonial times and others were foods available in Annapolis today. The tour was exactly what the right-up described. I would highly recommend it for adults, but not children.

Excellent tour about town with delicious tastings

This was such a phenomenal way to spend an afternoon in the historic city of Annapolis. Our guide, Susan Denis was extremely versed in local historical interesting facts and added humor to her dialogue. We went to multiple and varied sites that she presented such unique facts on, that it was very surprising to me as I have been a local resident most of my life and taught school in this county for a quarter of a century ! At each stop we enjoyed some type of colonial snack or beverage-each more appetizing than the previous. The other tour participants were British and Scottish, and were most impressed with Susan's factual knowledge & enjoyable humorous comments. After each libation, she treated us to a colonial toast and the reason for it's use in historic Annapolis. The pace was leisurely and enjoyable on a lovely spring afternoon in our original capital city. Three cheers for Susan Denis and her portrayal, in her lovely colonial attire, of an 18th century lady. Her use of tiny speaker ear pieces was a great help while being in the city on a busy Sunday afternoon. I have recommended this to many people since taking it, and would gladly delight in taking it again !
