Historic District 101 - An Annapolis Walking Tour

This tour was the perfect activity to learn about Annapolis and visit historic landmarks. It was just the right length and pace.

My husband and I could not have enjoyed the historic tour any more than we did. Howard was a pure delight, a true colonial gentleman!

Squire Howard provided us with informed and insightful information that made the tour enjoyable. His anecdotes and cultural elucidations were particularly enjoyable. As an American historian myself I appreciated his knowledge and passion.

Our guide was quite gregarious & completely knowledgeable. My husband & I are history buffs from Iowa & my brother lives in Baltimore. Guide provided enough diverse & entertaining stories so that all 3 of us enjoyed it very much. We had a rocky start, in that the guide we had was called in to fill-in for a no show, so she was late (I called at the start-time when no guide appeared at the meeting spot). Given that, she was also not in costume, which was disappointing. However, after 5 minutes with her, we forgot all that & enjoyed the tour.

I have spinal stenosis and am unable to stand for any length of time. For this reason, I brought with me a portable stool to sit on while the tour stopped. Howard called my seat a lazy Susan and said no one on any of his tours had ever sat down like that, only wheel chairs. Other caustic remarks followed. I felt the brunt of his warped sense of humor and tried to laugh with my friends but was crying on the inside. I would never put myself through that again or recommend your tours. I was in pain and humiliated.

Annapolis is a cute little town with tons of history. Super interesting and entertaining tour. Now I know where the terms "saved by the bell" and "deadringer" come from!

Overall, the tour through the historic district of Annapolis was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we had a great time getting to see and learn about some parts of Annapolis that we had never seen before. Getting to go inside the Maryland State House was a real treat, too.

We had a wonderful time with our guide, Carolyn. I've lived in the Annapolis area my whole life and I learned so much. My husband and I appreciated the county resident discount, it definitely encouraged us to take our friends from NYC on the tour. Thanks for a great and educational afternoon.

Tour guide was very knowledgable. Tour covered a large area of Annapolis and included many interesting facts. Would definitely recommend this tour!!
