| My husband and I booked the tour, expecting it to be with a group. As it turned out, we were the only ones who there, so we ended up getting a private, Annapolis History 101 tour. Our tour guide Carolyn was great! She was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we had a really fun time, as she stayed in character for the majority of the tour. The walk itself was easy, given that we stopped in front of sites for a while as well. It's a relatively inexpensive and fun way to spend a few hours, whether as a couple, with a family, or even with a larger group. | ||||||

| I wouldn't want to give away the itinerary but the places we visited, the interesting little tidbits of history provided by our guide, and the food we shared were very enjoyable. It was a rather warm day but the walking between air-conditioned stops was just right. The tour provided a good overview of historic Annapolis and a taste of the specialties of some great eating places. While it is suggested to take this tour at the beginning of one's visit, we ended up doing it on our last day. The tour included a couple of places where we had already dined and, since we had enjoyed our meals, it was nice to re-visit. I found the tour to be well-organized - it was a big loop of the historic area - and well presented. The hosts at the various eateries were cordial. I highly recommend this tour to those who like history, walking tours, and enough samples over a 3-hour period to fill one's belly. | ||||||

| My wife and I took this tour on a Sunday afternoon in late summer. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, the food was good at all the places we stopped at, and we particularly enjoyed seeing several places that aren't open to the general public. What we didn't really like was the guide's "staying in character" as a 18th century person. Fortunately, the guide did less and less of this as the tour continued, particularly when asked questions directly. In short, I'd much rather a guide say "In the 1760s, standing here, you could see ... " rather than "Of course, ye squires and ladies can't see what the peoples of me time saw here ... ". I hope that the tour folks reconsider their attempts to cast Annapolis as some sort of Disneyland East. Also worth noting: we had a bit of trouble finding parking. Don't expect to find a space in the parking lots near where the tour starts, at least on popular weekend afternoons. And close-in street parking is limited to two hours, which isn't useful when the tour lasts three hours. | ||||||

Take the no refunds warning very seriously!

| We were in Annapolis last weekend and on Saturday evening there was a monstrous storm which blew out the electricity in our hotel (thus no AC following a day with temps in the 90s). After a virtually sleepless night, no warm water for showers the next day, and an estimate of anywhere from 6-24 hours before power would be restored, we decided to check out and cut our visit short, leaving before we were scheduled for the tour. I called Capital City Colonials and explained our situation, I also noted we had our dog with us, who obviously could not be left alone in the car for three hours while we did this walking tour. We were refused a refund. The woman I spoke to offered to watch the dog while we were on the tour (not acceptable to us), suggested I come alone and let my husband sit with the dog somewhere inside, or that we come back to Annapolis (3+ hours from where we live) another weekend and reuse the tickets. Regardless of the fact that all of the options were really not possible, they wouldn't even consider a refund. It's not clear why because the woman I spoke to mentioned she had not given final tour numbers to any of the sites we were to visit, so they clearly weren't counting on us at that point. I understand fully that the Zerve form says no refunds will be given, but this is a fair warning to anyone out there - regardless of WHATEVER happens, you won't be getting your money back if you can't go on the tour, so make sure you don't mind parting with the $80 if for any reason you wind up not being able to attend. | ||||||

| I surprised my wife with this tour. I was looking for a way to learn about Annapolis that was "above and beyond" the normal guided tour. This tour proved to be an excellent choice. The tour guide did a great job, she had a good balance of knowledge, humor and "roll playing". The food was delicious, but in appropriate portions, so it was enjoyable. | ||||||

| Our guide was very good. She really got into her role of living in colonial times. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We sampled a wide range of foods-some were recipes from colonial times and others were foods available in Annapolis today. The tour was exactly what the right-up described. I would highly recommend it for adults, but not children. | ||||||

| I would highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your visit to Annapolis. As a first timer in Annapolis this tour gave me a good feel for the town and introduced me to enough places that I knew exactly what I wanted to go back to visit. My husband especially enjoyed various pubs that were introduced along with historical sites. The food was delicious and I was definitley full by the end of the tour. Our guide was full of historic details with a touch of humor to make it even more enjoyable. This tour was worth every penny!!!!! | ||||||

| Our guide, mistress Susan, was informative and enthusiastic. It was evident that she had a love of history and the city. The lightweight ear phone that was provided was much appreciated---one could wander away to get a closer look at something or take advantage of a restroom and not miss any narration. The food tastes were more than enough to fill you for lunch and several hours later. We truly felt we had insider information and this tour made us want to return to Annapolis! | ||||||

| Overall the tour was a nice way to spend a couple of hours on Sunday. The anecdotes were funny and informative, though the history aspect seemed on the ligh side. The guide's enthusiasm was generally good. I did note that at a few limited moments he was telling us information as if from a script; and os at those moments it seemed canned. This occurred, however, very infrequently. The portion of the tour that involved the college St. John's, the State House and the church were the best. | ||||||

| The tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and had some interesting stories to tell about the historic buildings in Annapolis. I liked the fact that the tour included entry into some of the buildings. There was not too much walking to do so it was not too tiring. I learnt a lot through doing the tour and would recommend it to others. | ||||||

| The tour of historic homes in Annapolis was very enjoyable. Caroline, the tour guide, was very informative. In recent memory I can't think of a more enjoyable day. Thanks for a job well done. I would definitely go on another tour with your company. | ||||||

| Loved the detail that the tour guide provided. Marcos was very patient with our loud and rambunctious children and was professional throughout the tour. Wish we had more tours of inside the buildings, as we took the tour on Saturday. This was our only activity in Annapolis..we stopped as we were traveling to the beach...and some have commented that it was the best part of the vacation! | ||||||
