Meeting Location
Downtown (14th and I ("Eye") Streets, NW) (Washington, DC)
(Exact meeting location details will be provided immediately upon purchase of tickets.)
- Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
- Advance purchase is strongly recommended, as tours often sell out quickly. To maximize your chance of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. You can do this online or over the phone using only Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
- I have children in my group that are under 16 years old. Can they still come on the tour?
- Absolutely! Since DC has a rule that you can't ride a Segway until your 16, this is perfect!
- What exact locations do we visit?
- The exact itinerary and route of the tour varies somewhat from tour to tour, so we can't say ahead of time exactly which locations will be visited on a specific tour. We do, however, usually visit as many of the following as possible: The Scottish Rite House of the Temple, Almas Shrine Center "The Shriners," Franklin Square Park, White House, US Capitol, Washington Monument, The Library of Congress, Smithsonian Museums, Hirshorn Gallery of Modern Art, & the US Botanical Gardens.
- How will I hear the tour guide’s commentary?
- Each rider will be provided with a top of the line headset unit, making it easy to hear the information being offered by the guide and guaranteeing an optimal tour experience.
- What happens if it rains?
- It doesn't rain inside a bus!
- Do I have to sign a waiver?
- Yes, you will have to sign a waiver.
- Can I buy food or drinks along the way? What about souvenirs?
- Unfortunately, the tour is structured so that we can visit a large amount of Washington DC's landmarks, which leaves very little time for any other stops. We recommend you arrive full, as you can only bring necessary items on the Segway. The tour finishes in downtown Washington DC, so you will have the opportunity to go souvenir shopping at the end of the tour.
- Where does the tour end?
- We will return to our tour departure point near 14th & I ("Eye") Streets NW. The exact meeting location will be provided to you after ticket purchase.
- Will we stop to take photos and go inside the sites listed for the tour?
- While we can stop at some of the locations to take in the views and snap some photos, there isn't enough time on the tour to go into any of the sites--there is too much ground to be covered! but, yes some sites we will go in.
- Are the tours conducted in English only?
- Yes, the tours are only conducted in English. However, our non-English speaking guests will still enjoy the experience of riding a Segway and seeing the sights of Washington, DC.
- Are restrooms available?
- Yes, restrooms are available at the meeting location. But there are no easily accessible restroom stops along the tour route. If you should need to stop, please let us know and we will try to accomodate you.
- Can I arrange for a private/corporate/business event?
- Yes, we offer private group tours, up to 50 people, for corporate functions and private events. For more information, click “Contact CapSegway” to the left of the page.
