We had a great time riding the Sedways through Washington, D.C. We took the evening tour (left at 6:30) which we really liked: it was cooler late in the day, less pedestrian traffic at that time of day )important since yo ride the Segways on the sidewalks). Our guide (Noah) also did a great job of talking about the buildings. It doesn't take very long at all to get comfortable riding the Segways. We would recommend this to anyone. |

Great way to see Washington in the summer heat! Don't be intimidated by the learning curve- it's really easy to grasp- very intuitive! Best part of our weekend in D.C.! |

If you're worried about riding a Segway, don't be. It's very easy to learn. And they give you a chance to practice in the park across the street before the tour gets underway. My wife was initially concerned but now we both look forward to other tours in DC and elsewhere on a Segway.
If you want a relatively quick outdoor tour of significant sites, this is the way to go. No hassles with traffic, parking or directions. You just follow the guide and go!
Our guide was informative about the city and its landmarks, patient with pedestrians who impeded our progress (and our desire to take the Segway up to the max speed!), knew how to get around road repairs and blocked routes, and got us back to our originating point right on time.
Great fun! You even become an attraction for other tourists who photograph and videotape you. We highly recommend it! |

We had a great time. The guide had some interesting information on the sites we visited. It's too bad the tour is unable to go by the WWII Memorial. |

While our tourguide was rather new to DC and had spotty knowledge about the sights, the fun of zipping around the Segways more than made up for any shortness of depth. While the idea of climbing aboard these vehicles seemed daunting when we arrived, within a few minutes we were confidently navigating our way across the street and through a nearby park. Next we "hit the road" with a foray around the White House, across the Mall and all the way up to the top of Capital Hill. We returned via Pennsylvania Avenue with a few diversionary stops along the way. We soon discovered that the Segways really did seem to respond to our thoughts - think "forward" and off you'd go. Turns came just as naturally. The feel was almost like an earth-bound magic carpet.
A word of warning: Some other local operators offer 3-hour tours. Ours, at 2 hours plus training time, was about any in our group of 5 (plus the guide) wished for since standing constantly during the tour lead to tired feet.
Would we take this trip again? Absolutely! And the sooner the better! |

My teenage son and I loved it! The Segways are a blast and easy to ride. The guides were just the right amount of info--they knew that the highlight was the Segway riding and they didn't keep us still too long. No long list of rules, etc. that we expected to get.
Of course if you really were interested in what they told you, they were knowledgeable and pleasant about telling you what you wanted to know.
We didn't want to get off! Wish it was longer. Wanted to take one home! |

1st time riding Segways. They were all they were advertised to be, and then some! I have looked in my local area (Raleigh, NC) but there are no rentals available here. When we went to Washington, we took a guided tour and had more fun with the Segways than with the tour itself. They really are intuitive, and took little to no time to learn how to control them. After the tour, moving about on them had become second nature. The tour itself was very good. Our tourguide was knowledgeable and had several facts about the various monuments and sites that I was unfamiliar with.
I highly recommend this tour and the use of Segways! |

I hate walking and the segway tour allowed me my wife and my son to cover a large area of downtown DC and not get tired. I was wondering if you have different tour areas of DC? |

Trainers were excellent; Tour was interesting; Able to cover much more ground with more fun than a standard tour. Perfect for 16 - 20 year old tourists, who don't want to "ride the bus" |
