Fantastic Time!

We had a thoroughly fantastic time both riding the Segways and seeing the sights in DC. This is by far the best way to see the city! We highly recommend taking the evening tour. Although we were initially worried about riding in the dark, this was not a problem. The big advantage is that there are fewer pedestrians and less traffic to worry about. (It was also a lot cooler during our stay!) The Segways are very easy to use. (This company only uses the newer model, which apparently helps a lot.) Both of us felt comfortable after about 5 minutes of practice. By the end of the evening, riding was second nature. In truth, it is only slightly harder than standing up. The tour guide was very experienced and informative. He kept careful track of all of the riders and made sure that stragglers did not get left behind. Importatly, once you have taken the tour, you can then rent the Segways to explore DC on your own! We did this the next day and visited many sights that we would have otherwise missed. Who has the time and the energy to walk all the way around the tidal basin? On a Segway, it is a breeze, even in the heat of the afternoon. We would never have gotten around to seeing the new Roosevelt Memorial (recommended) without them.) The Segway has all of the maneuverability of feet, the speed of a bicycle, and the ease of a recliner! I wish I could find a good reason to buy one of my own!

It took only minutes to learn to use the segway, and DC is the perfect city for it -- broad streets and sidewalks, gentle slopes and excellent views. We had a great time zipping around with our group. The guides were knowledgable and fun. I would do it again any time.

The tour guides were quite knowledgable about the behind the scenes(trivia) info that not everyone has heard. Accomodations were made for non-english speakers. Safety is top priority, trust the segway and trust the guides and you'll be fine, if you feel uncomfortable, slow or stop and call for the guide and they'll be glad to assist you. The segways were a lot of fun to ride, most come for the tour but several come just to ride the segways. Riding down the sidewalks, you can hear people you pass commenting on how they "wanna try that". People WILL come up to you asking about the tour...good thing for the handout pamphlets, otherwise the tour might lag behind schedule. The tour moves right along(and passes the slower tours), you don't even notice that it's been two hours when the group returns to the start location. There's several tour choices to see D.C., I chose the segway tour because of the cost, the freedom from sitting for 2 hours on a tour bus and the fun factor. D.C. has a LOT to it, it'd take several days to explore it all. I recommend the segway tour to people who want to see the highlights of D.C. and want to have some fun doing it. My day in D.C. consisted of: me and my friend walking 5+ hours during the day checking out the insides of museums/buildings, taking a lot of pictures and then 2 hours during the evening riding the segways, seeing the all the buildings lit up and taking some pictures. Well, I guees that's about it for this review, thanks for reading my book >.<

Loved the tour and Segways. I live in the city and already knew the tourist spots, but this was the first time anyone in my group had ever been on a Segway. We all had a great time and will recommend this tour to others. A suggestion: have a longer tour that goes in front of the Smithsonian museums, instead of behind them. Another local Segway company does a tour with one more hour. Some additional free time at the end of the tour would have been nice, too. We had a great time, highly recommend this for others, and will most likely do this again ourselves!

I was amazed at how easy it was to learn to ride the Segways. The tour took us everywhere a walking tour of the city could go, but much farther in less time with a lot less effort.

My wife and I live in the metro area and she has been asking me for weeks about taking the tour. We finally decided to go and we enjoyed it immensely. This was site seeing at its best.

Great present for my husband's 63rd birthday

My husband and I really enjoyed our Segway ride. We had a great staff person. It was only the two of us so we went at a nice pace, saw a lot, and got a lot out of the running commentary, even thought we have lived in the DC area for 14 years. We have recommended Segway tours to many of our friends and hope to go again some time.

We were up on the Segways in the showroom no problem, spent a few minutes outside in the park really getting the feel of the machine, and then it was off to see the monuments. The tour was terriffic. Amazed at how easily we fit in with pedestrians. The only downside was some slight aching of muscles in the back of both legs below the calves and above the ankles of one person of two (male). That went away after a few days and I would certainly jump back on a Segway the next chance I get.

Our Segway Tour of Washington was great! Fun tour leader and way cool segways made for a fun outing at a fair price.
