Great Fun

My niece was visiting from Iowa. She had seen DC a number of years ago, but I decided to try this tour. We saw some of the sites in DC as well as some of the architecture. One of the memorials we visited was the Navy memorial. This was especially meaningful as my Dad, her grandfather, served in the Navy in WWII. Riding the segways was the highlight of her visit! Everyone she told about the trip was introduced to the Segway experience. It was great. Good experience for us both.

I had a great time! I was amazed at how quickly I became comfortable with the Segway machine. I wasn't so much interested in the tour but rather in getting to operate the Segway in and around the Mall area. Now if I could just have used the red key.

We chose Capital Segway mainly because they were the only ones that could accomodate our son in their "rickshaw" that trailed behind the guide's Segway. After the short training session we headed to see the sites. Our group was small but you still only proceed as fast as the slowest rider. Navigating the sidewalks was effortless and you really appreciate these things when going up hill. Our guide was expert with the Segway but a little new with the history and info part of Washington. Maybe other guides would talk more but the main reason we did this was for the Segway experience (we had taken a 6 hr tour bus ride the day before to get the history of the area) We spent a full 2 hours on the units and had a great time! Great way to see the sites!

We have seen it all before, but this tour gave us a fresh view of our capital, as well as some new information about several of the sites and monuments. The segways are delightful and addictive! Our 5 year-old daughter rode behind a guide in one of the rickshaw-like trailers and was treated like royalty. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it.

Most Fun We've Had in a Long Time

My wife and I are in our mid 60's and were hosting a visit by a friend from Italy aged 31. She wanted to do a tour of Washington, and in doing some research on the web, I came across your site. None of us had ever even actaully seen a Segway, but we are fairly active, so we thought it might be fun to try. After a short demo session we were off to try the units in the park across the street, and after that we were on our way. It turned out to be a lot easier than you might think, and we were soon moving around with confidence. The only problem we had was lining the segway up with the wheelchair accessable cutouts at the pedistrian crossings - some of them are pretty narrow, so you have to be pretty well lined up to get thru them without problems. I have to say at the end, i was really comfortable on the Segway and was really enjoying the ride - so i was reluctant to have the tour end. I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone, of any age. My wife and i certainly enjoyed the tour and our visitor told us it was the highlight of her visit so far.

it was great fun getting to ride the Segway. The tour was seconday to the riding experience but the guide was very good both from a technical and tour guide perspective.

Fun trip, good guide, beware others on the tour

We enjoyed the Segway experience, and our guide was helpful and easy to get a long with. Unfortunately, another person on the tour (not from our group) could not become comfortable enough on her Segway to speed up her pace and she dragged us down the whole way. We didn't get to many of the stops we were supposed to and it actually got a little bit boring since we were going along at the same speed as all the pedestrians.
