Besides the thrill of experiencing a Segway, for my money this 2 hour tour is the best way to get a solid idea of the layout and important points of downtown Washington DC.
Tour guide Justin was a wealth of information and important anecdotes and kept the tour clipping along at just the right pace. |

Our guide was great and the segways worked well. Only issue I had was that the 2 hour advertised tour ended 20 minutes early. |

This is a good way to see the buildings and lay-out of DC. Evening trip is pretty, and not as crowded -- got some nice pictures of buildings lit up at night. If you actually want to only go in & tour the sites, not for you, though it will give you an idea of their location, and what they look like, for actual touring another day. Guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and concerned for group safety. Riding the Segway was very comfortable and not hard, though you need to be attentive to your surroundings. Overall, it is worth the $ -- we took the 2 hr tour, which was plenty of time. Probably not something you would do twice in DC, but definitely enjoyed the trip. |

I took the tour with a friend visiting from California (though I am local). We took a different Segway tour the last time she visited with a different tour company, and the Capital Segway one was far superior. One reason is the wonderful tour guide, Jim, who was a wealth of information and funny stories. Also, the use of the headset greatly enhanced our enjoyment since we were always able to hear those stories, even when we were single filing through city streets (in the other tour, which didn't use them, you could only hear the guide when we stopped and gathered round). The segway machines themselves seemed newer, and the instruction prior to the tour seemed more individualized. All in all, it was a great way to see DC. |

One of us was very nervous about trying the Segway - "nerve-wracking" is how she described her feeling before getting on - and within five minutes she was zipping around and having a great time. The tour was informational and quick, and the Segways were so much fun to ride/drive. Our feet were surprisingly tired at the end of the two hours, so it was just the right amount of time - but the three of us agreed that if it weren't for our feet we would have wanted the tour to keep going! |

Though a little nervus when we first started, it didn't take long to get comfotable. Our guide lead us down the street and told us what hazards to look for on the streets that did not have bike lanes. Our guide was very informative with helpful hints, timing and providing information of the Washington sites. We went the past the White House, then down to the mall to the Capital, then circle around, It was great 2 hour tour. |

The Segway tour was a fun way to get an overview of the sites in the downtown area. There was no real detail on each place we saw, but I didn't expect to get that information since 2 hours is really only time enough for an overview. Tyler, our guide, was informative and made the tour interesting. The operation instructions for the Segway were clear and the machine was not hard to master. I have below average balance so most people will do fine. The practice time in the park was very helpful to gain confidence. Go for it. |
