This was a birthday outing for my daughter. The folks gave excellent training and after 15 mins practice we felt at ease on the Segway. Good weather and excellent guides made this adventure truly fun.

Great Fun and a Great Tour!

Our family of four went on a Capital Segway tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff did a great job of teaching us the basics of Segway operation, and they convinced us that we'd be able to do it! Our 16-year old son loved the Segway from the start. It took Mom and Dad and sister a few minutes of practice to feel comfortable, but we were all able to learn the basics. Our tour guide was not only a Segway master-extraordinaire, but also a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide of DC. He had great stories and tidbits to augment the facts, and definitely added to our enjoyment. We were sorry when our tour ended, and we will most definitely take future Segway tours! Thank for for a wonderful experience!

Do these words go together?

Do these words go together? Fun, exciting, educational, the answer is yes! I enjoyed the freedom of riding the Segway through our nations capital. From the moment I stepped on it, our group guide allow us to, not only feel comfortable with the segway, but gave us the time necessary, to gain the confidence we would need to navigate through the city streets. I enjoyed the narration our guide gave our group, it was very informative with fun facts about what you were seeing and those things you don't normally pay attention to when your trying to do the same thing on your own. I also loved seeing all of those tourists you pass by, wishing that they were on a Segway instead of hoofing it on foot to all the same areas you will be. I give big kudos to CapSegway and our guide Noah, for a fun, exciting, and yes, educational time. I would definitely do this tour again.

The Segway riding alone is worth the money, add to that a knowledgable guide and you have one heck of a deal. Unlike some of the other Segway tours in DC, this one supplies the rider with a earpiece so you can hear what the guide is saying and you don't have to hover around him. Well worth it.

Fun but I broke my tail bone on Segway

My husband and I took the Segway tour in celebration of my husband's 60th birthday. We were both being careful on our Segways but somehow my Segway got away from me, I fell backwards and broke my tail bone. Thank goodness I had a helmet on! We had a fun on the Segway tour but it was unfortunate that I will have at least 8 weeks of recovery. I wish I had known that the Segway has a mind of its own and that they are pretty dangerous. I would have tried to have been more careful (not sure how I could have been more careful though). I guess the waiver I signed at Capitol Tours puts all the medical bills on my shoulders. Ouch!

I did a segway tour in San Francisco last year, so I decided to give it a try again on my trip to DC. The training was quick and easy, the instructor was great - just the right amount of information about the city mixed with some dry humor. The pace was perfect. The great thing about this one versus San Francisco is the wireless earpiece - it made everything much easier. Also, the guide to participant ratio was excellent - they don't do more than 8 people to a guide. This is a must-do for teens through seniors. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!!

wonderfully unique vacation activity . . .

thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend time and again . . . agree with a reviewer who said 2 hours about right . . . though 3 sounds the better deal, unless you are accustomed to riding, there may well be a little muscular discomfort when finished . . . my lower back sore; however, I'm 57 and am sure that plays a part . . . still would have done again the next day . . . that much fun . . . saw many sites . . . covered a lot of ground w/o walking and getting on and off bus . . .

12.5 mph
Fri, Jul 17, 09   11:00 AM rsitarz Male 30-39 Local Family Without Children
The most important aspect of CapSegway for us was the12.5 mph max. 6 mph would have sucked. With all the sights to see, the segway experience itself was the focus of my attention!!
