The tour was great and riding the segways was so much fun! The Capital Segway people were very helpful on the phone when answering my questions. Also, the our guides were quite entertaining! Highly recommended!

Served as a great SEGWAY into the rest of our day!

Get it? We took the Segway tour, not as a way to learn about DC, but rather as a chance to play around on Segway devices. I feel like the tour guide felt that way also. He didn't have anything particularly insightful to say about the city, but that was fine. We rode around and he gave us the 30 second story about the stops we made and his personal opinions of them. Bystanders were in awe as we zoomed around on our futuristic people movers. It was loads of fun. The price was fair too, as I feel like we definitely got our money worth. If you've been to DC bunches of times or have never been at all, this tour is a great way to see the city in a different way.

We had never Segway'ed before and thought it would be a great way to combine a new experience with seeing the sights of Washington D.C. via the 6pm "dusk" tour. Despite being complete novices, the team at Capitol Segway had us up & running in no time and were very consicous of our safety throughout, ensuring the group kept together and crossed roads safely. As the night drew in, we were given flashing lights for our Segways to ensure we were visible to all. The tour directors were very knowledgeable - we nicknamed one of them the "human megaphone" as his delivery was so loud and clear it was unmissable! The commentary was excellent - lots of time for photos at each stop and there were some really interesting tidbits throughout the 2+ hour tour. We finished with huge grins on our faces (and slightly stiff legs from standing for so long in one place, despite a couple of stetching breaks) and definitely wished we could keep the Segways!

You can cover alot of sightseeing ground in a very short time period. You don't need to be coordinated to Segway. A wonderful option for families with teenagers!

We thought the Segway tour was awesome. Handling the machines became second nature after the short instruction period. Our 16 year old son loved it. He didn't even mind seeing all of the museums, the Capitol and the White House. We covered more ground, and had more fun doing it, than if we walked. We would highly recommend this tour.

I took my teenage children (16 abd 18) on the 2 hr Washington DC Segway tour and it was a great way to see the sights around the mall.... and have fun doing it! Once you get the feel of the Segway, which doesn't take long, it was a blast! I'm surprised someone hasn't souped up one of these babies and started a Segway X- games.... Within your comfort range, you can ride more or less "conservatively", but I never felt unsafe. The guides were great , as well. I'd buy one for myself, until they told me they go for around 5 grand.....

We opted to our own tour guide of DC, which allowed us to get off and back on our Segways, while still seeing the sights in depth. (We went into 2 of the Smithsonian Museums.) It turned out to be a wonderful idea, first of all, we departed with a regular group, with our tour guide in tow with us. And then when it made sense the tour guide and us, split off, to see some other things. The original group, had 2 tour guides with them, that way, one could lead, the other road last in the group to make sure everyone was fine at all times. He also stood on his segway at intersections to make sure that we went with the traffic lights, and he protected us from unruly car drivers. All three tour guides were very knowledgeable about the area and the sights we saw. The Segways were fun, well maintained, the the tour guides were always watching out for us, and for traffic. If you enjoy receiving special service, TAKE THIS WONDERFUL TOUR!!!!!! I would do it again, in a heart beat. (and probably will)!!!! Enjoy, Joe Rich

This is a great way to zip around the city. While the overview of the museums and other attractions are a plus, the trip is more about finding your way through the city while having a BLAST!! The tour guides provide just enough information to help you decide whether you want to go back and tour certain destinations. Also they make learning the segway EASY and fun! My parents (60 & 65 respectively) were tentative at first, but after only a few minutes they were enjoying the segway as much as the "youngsters".

Best money we spent on our trip to DC! We had a great guide and the practice in the park made us feel very confident. We had 13 people in our group plus the guide at the front and another Capital Segway employee "bringing up the rear." The Segway is so easy to ride. You will NOT regret booking this activity. Note: Plan on another day to tour the inside of various sites in DC. since you are basically getting an overview while tooling around town. Worth every penny.
