There was a marathon event happening around the mall so our guide took us around it. Our guide was very informative and fun.

Wonderful adventure to mark our 30th anniversary

I arranged our tour as a surprise 30th anniversary gift to my wife and we had a great time. I signed us up with the smaller group so my wife wouldn't feel intimidated by the larger group of riders, and it being a surprise I wanted her to feel safe with the tour guide being close all of the time. The small group was just right for us and made it easier to stay together as a group. The radios made the tour even better because at each stop we could ride around instead of constantly gathering around the tour guide, plus he was able to give us directions/instructions at the cross-streets even before we got to the stop. We had a great time seeing the sights of DC and even rode along a part of the Marine Corps Marathon, sharing the road with the many runners (I did feel a little guilty because they looked like they were hurting and I was cruising along). We never felt rushed, and the segways are very easy to ride once you understand the concept, and before we even noticed it my wife and I were riding them like old pros. We had lunch at the Cafe du Parc in the Willard Hotel (my wife saw it while on the tour and that's why we ate there) and finished the day by taking the Metro to Arlington National Cemetery to pay our respects and view the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns. All in all a truly memorable day, thanks Capital Segway!

Overall Good / Fun...content could be improved

Liked the tour...first tour guide seemed more animated and provided more historical context. Guide on second half of tour seemed to "skim" over things too quickly. Also thought time spent driving segway in parking lot could have been better spent seeing more attractions. (i.e. lincolyn's monument, vietnam's memorial etc.)

I really enjoyed the segway and our tour guides. They did a wonderful job explaining how to use it beforehand. The radio was difficult to hear at times but that was the equipment not the tour guides. Will definitely do it again.

The best way to tour the national mall

My wife and I were in DC for the weekend on vacation, and we booked a segway tour on the recommendation of a friend. The staff at Capital Segway were both courteous and knowledgeable: they taught us how to ride our segways in minutes and we were on our way. Our guides were always available to look out for us, answer questions, and take pictures of us. At the end of the 2 hour tour, we only wished we could keep the segways and continue riding around the city! We even got some good ideas for places to go when the tour was over. There were about 8 people in our group, and two guides. Highly recommend this tour to start out your vacation in DC.

Excellent tour - would recommend to any visitor

This is such a fun way to see the main sights of Washington DC. The tour was excellent value - The guides spent a little time at the beginning so we novices could get used to the Segways, and in any case they are so intuitively easy to ride that the focus quickly became how much fun these things are to ride! and the knowledgeable tour guides gave an excellent commentary throughout. I shall be recommending this to all my Australian friends who may be heading over to DC.

Worth the time and money

The tour was great and well worth it...I would do it again. I know time is limited, but I would have liked to have actually taken the time to go closer to more monuments. You get close to the White House, the Washington Monument and the Capital. It would have been nice to go in front of the Lincoln Memorial instead of viewing it from the opposite end of the reflecting pool. Everything else was great and Karen our tour guide was awesome!

A Great Trip

My son and I had Karen as our tour guide around the DC area. It was our first trip to DC and our first experience ever on a Segway. Nonetheless we had a blast! Karen was very informative and the relaxed pace of the tour allowed us to experience the capabailities of the Segways. We will surely recommend this transportaion style to all of our friends and to request Karen in the future if you are in DC. Mark and Chase Hammett The Woodlands, TX

Fun way to see DC

I really enjoyed the Segway tour of DC. I have always wanted to try one out, and combining that with seeing DC was a win win! The guides were patient and helpful as well as knowledgable on each of the sights we saw. It was also fun to be the envy of many who would have preferred to be on a Segway rather than walking. My favorite comment I heard was from a little boy who said "Look Dad...it's a parade of them!"
