See The City Tour - A Segway Tour of Washington DC

This tour was the best I've taken. We began with a short video showing us how the segway is operated on different turf and the hazards of using it in an unacceptable way. Then we were give helmets and tried out the Segway in the training office. The tour covered so much ground that we couldn't have seen so much any other way without doing a ton of walking. The tour guides were excellent, pleasant and explained many of the historical buildings throughout the tour. I highly recommend this to everyone who would like to see the monuments and historical buildings around DC up close.

Not only is the Segway a wonderful ride, the guides really know their stuff. They instructed us, took us somewhere that we could practise and get comfortable and then began the tour. Very knowledgable about the sites and had interesting stories about each of them. The tour was a bit over two hours. It's one of those things you need to do more than once because you'll see something new each time. Highly recommended!

but beware of being too comfortable. Getting too close to another segway or object can result in a nasty fall. I've got a big bruise on my knee. Luckly, the helmet saved me from a head injury.

This was an awesome experience... Staff and tour guide (Nick) was friendly and accommodating. Very interesting tour, informative and fun. This is a must do...I would like to see them offer straight rentals also, so that after the tour one could go out on their own. Their competition advertises this option, so we checked it out the next day. That staff acted like they were doing us a favor to talk to us, and we also noticed that the equipment was the older version of the Segway.. Needless to say we didnt utilize their service. Capital Segway uses the most current Segway models for their tours. I would not hesitate to return to Capital Segway on my next visit.

We were several days into our vacation when we scheduled our Segway tour of D.C. Zipping down the sidewalks was a lot of fun and we covered a lot of ground in 2 hours. I think seeing the sights in D.C. on a "Segway Tour of Washington D.C." would be an excellent "1st exposure" to the area. It would give one a brief look at a lot of the area's significant sights and help one choose the areas where more time should be spent. As we continued to tour the area on foot, we both wished we still had our Segways! Regardless of when you take a Segway tour in the D.C. area, it will be one of the highlights of your vacation. "Segway Tours of Washington D.C." is a very well run company.

We had a great time riding the Sedways through Washington, D.C. We took the evening tour (left at 6:30) which we really liked: it was cooler late in the day, less pedestrian traffic at that time of day )important since yo ride the Segways on the sidewalks). Our guide (Noah) also did a great job of talking about the buildings. It doesn't take very long at all to get comfortable riding the Segways. We would recommend this to anyone.

Other than the rain which postponed our start and caused us to end early, the tour was great fun. Loved it.

My husband is a 'motorhead' who likes snowmachines and 4 wheelers with lots of power. He was skeptical about doing this but totally enjoyed himself. We seriously thought about renting them for a day later but ran out of time. I would recommend it for any and all types of people.

Great way to see Washington in the summer heat! Don't be intimidated by the learning curve- it's really easy to grasp- very intuitive! Best part of our weekend in D.C.!

If you're worried about riding a Segway, don't be. It's very easy to learn. And they give you a chance to practice in the park across the street before the tour gets underway. My wife was initially concerned but now we both look forward to other tours in DC and elsewhere on a Segway. If you want a relatively quick outdoor tour of significant sites, this is the way to go. No hassles with traffic, parking or directions. You just follow the guide and go! Our guide was informative about the city and its landmarks, patient with pedestrians who impeded our progress (and our desire to take the Segway up to the max speed!), knew how to get around road repairs and blocked routes, and got us back to our originating point right on time. Great fun! You even become an attraction for other tourists who photograph and videotape you. We highly recommend it!
