See The City Tour - A Segway Tour of Washington DC

I had already seen the DC sights and was not really looking forward to walking around and seeing them again. Being on the Segway made it a completely different experience! It was so much fun puttering around on it that it didn't matter that I had done it all before. However, for anyone doing the sightseeing for the first time, it is a great overview and the guides have interesting trivia about the sights. If you want to actually go into the places, you need to go back again on foot or with a different tour group.

AFTER PRACTICING, WE WERE ALL EXPERTS BY THE TIME WE CAME BACK TO THE STORE. NOT ALOT OF "TOURIST" INFORMATION, BUT A VERY ENJOYABLE TIME BEING OUT AND ABOUT IN DC AND LEARNING HOW TO RIDE THE SEGWAYS. WOULD LOVE TO DO ANOTHER TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION!

I had a great time! I was amazed at how quickly I became comfortable with the Segway machine. I wasn't so much interested in the tour but rather in getting to operate the Segway in and around the Mall area. Now if I could just have used the red key.

We chose Capital Segway mainly because they were the only ones that could accomodate our son in their "rickshaw" that trailed behind the guide's Segway. After the short training session we headed to see the sites. Our group was small but you still only proceed as fast as the slowest rider. Navigating the sidewalks was effortless and you really appreciate these things when going up hill. Our guide was expert with the Segway but a little new with the history and info part of Washington. Maybe other guides would talk more but the main reason we did this was for the Segway experience (we had taken a 6 hr tour bus ride the day before to get the history of the area) We spent a full 2 hours on the units and had a great time! it was great fun getting to ride the Segway. The tour was seconday to the riding experience but the guide was very good both from a technical and tour guide perspective.

We enjoyed the Segway experience, and our guide was helpful and easy to get a long with. Unfortunately, another person on the tour (not from our group) could not become comfortable enough on her Segway to speed up her pace and she dragged us down the whole way. We didn't get to many of the stops we were supposed to and it actually got a little bit boring since we were going along at the same speed as all the pedestrians.

Signed up the night before for a tour. The next day got a call apologizing that they had no guide avaliable. After hearing that this was my only free night in DC. The owner said I could have the segway at the same time and just go on my own and that he would come back to the store and check me back in after my ride. That was awesome service. I had already seen the some of the sights..really just wanted to try out a segway so it worked out perfect for me.

We were in DC for 4 days. We did the Segway tour on the first day just to get acquainted with the city. I wish I had it for the other 3 days. There is a LOT of walking in DC. The Segway was a blast. A lot more of a workout than you might think. BRING WATER WITH YOU!!! Once you learn to trust the machine, it is a piece of cake. I'll probably consider renting one for a day or two next time I go back.

We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have some serious fun while seeing the major sites of Washington, DC. Kyle, our tour guide, was super. The segways are just amazing machines. I expected to have a great time on this tour and enjoyed myself even more than I had thought I would.
