A Segway is a perfect way to get around DC. I was a little worried that I might be running over pedestrians and crashing into things, but it is nothing like that. After a very short period using it, it becomes as intuitive as walking. The folks at Capital Segway were pleasant to work with and made sure we were all completely comfortable using them before we started out. The machines are a blast and any age person can adapt to them easily. The tour itself was informative and fun, and gave a nice overview of some of the major sites of the city. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful, even giving good suggestions of places to have lunch afterwards. Was one of the highlights of our trip. |

Great way to see D.C. We had thought about a bus tour but this had the added benefit of being fun and informative. Highly recommend it. |

This tour is a great way to get a feel for the city. You see the important sites while having a great time. The tour guides are very knowledgable and enthusiastic about their jobs and make the tour that much better. The segways are a blast, I thought it would take a good portion of the time limit just to learn how to ride one but it was a piece of cake. In fact, my dad and I are thinking about buying 2 in the near future. Overall, this tour is the best one you can take in Washington DC. We had the time of our lives! |

My husband and I were visiting DC for our honeymoon and decided to take the Segway Tour. We were the only two on the tour that day and it was great. It was January so a little cold, but not cold enough to take away from the fun. Karen was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable. My husband and I would recommend this tour to anyone and we now want to visit other cities and see them by Segway. |

Myself (mid-twenties) and my grandparents went to DC, and heard about this from a friend. Lots of fun, I and my Grandmother loved it, and my Grandfather at least liked it. Highly recommended |

Enjoyed by everyone- 2 over 55's and one 18 year old. Niece descrived it as one of the best parts of her trip. Definitely a "Must". great way to see city highlights. We did the evening tour so we saw the sights a night - an added bonus. |

My cousin from Chicago was visiting, so I thought this would be a fun and different thing to do. My cousin is not a thrill-seeker and was a little nervous, but she enjoyed it thoroughly and said she would do it again in a heartbeat. I only wish the tour guides had some sort of microphone as background city noise often overpowered their voice. |

My husband and I were visiting DC for a wedding and were invited to take the segway tour with other friends in town for the same event. My husband had never really been around DC, so was excited to go on a tour. I have spent more time in the city, but was excited about the unique way of getting around.
We loved every minute of our tour! At first, I was a bit nervous on the Segway. It takes a few minutes to get used to, but honestly, the more relaxed you are, the easier it is! We were zipping around the streets in no time! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that hasn't been around DC, and even for those that have! I would recommend the early Saturday morning tour, since there are fewer pedestrians. We had a blast and are still talking about it! |

After a short "get acquainted" session, we took our turns getting acquainted with the Segways. Learning to ride is simple and fast. Out the doors and down the sidewalks we rode! What fun! Despite the fact it was a hot day, and the sun was beating down, moving along at faster than walking speeds kept us cool. People watched us, talked to us, asked about the Segways - some even photographed us as we rode along in a twisting line. I am trying to organize a group from work to take their tour - simply because of the fun of riding the Segway.
The only suggestion I would make to the tour organizers would be to have the riders get down off their platforms fairly frequently to rest our feet and move the ankles a bit; the best opportunities would be when the tour guide is giving us his spiel and has the group stationary in front of a monument or building.
It was a great ride. Loved it!!! |
