did not live up to expectation

I had to say I was disappointed with this experience, I had been on the boston segway tour last year and it was brilliant, I was expecting similar and was disappointed. The tour was supposed to be 2 hours long and started at 7.30 we were packed up and on our way home by 9pm felt like a bit of a rip off. Our guide was not very talkative and often out in front and could not hear questions from ladies further back in party especially on the cycle path down middle of road. He throw out names of buildings but no local insight or stories to make it seem like you had a guide who liked his job. He was off in front and the rest played keep up rather than being able to enjoy the sights. We often got caught on red lights. It could have been so much more fun. We did enjoy the segway riding but I would not use this company again when others are on offer. Sorry I found it dull interaction with guide and customers is important ours seemed more eager to get off maybe because it was 9pm friday evening Diane from England

I had planned on doing a morning trip, but waited until the day before to make reservations and all morning trips were booked. So, I did the 7:00 pm trip, which worked out even better. I joined into two groups that totaled about a dozen people. I was a bit worried about operating the Segway, but their in-store training plus the training across the street in the Park made me feel very comfortable. Oh, arrive early! They say 20 minutes early and that is the minimum. I was there about an hour early and so were most of the other customers, so we had extra learning and practice time. I agree with another's review - bring your own ear plugs. Theirs are ok, but your own are better. Tour of the White House and the Mall was fun and entertaining. The two hours is not enough to include the Lincoln Memorial, which would have been nice. Also, as we only rested a couple of times, and never really left our Segways, it is not the kind of tour where you can visit the inside of anything. The personal dialogue provided through the radio headsets was both informative and entertaining although some stories were a bit fractured ( meaning they tried to tell us a made up event instead of the real thing, but, did relent with the truth). The two guides we had traded off being in front, leading and talking, while the other either brought up the rear, or watched out for traffic. I always felt safe and secure. After the tour was over, I wanted my own Segway to deal with the remaining days of my trip and all the walking. Also, sort of felt like after you leave an all day boat trip, like I was still on it. Overall I highly recommend this type of tour and specifically this company.

There are not enough positive adjectives to use in describing this experience. Joyce and I brought 4 Scouts ages 16 & 18 to Washington DC for a week of sight seeing and exploring our Nation's Capitol. Our Scouts had been fundraising and saving their money for several years to make this trip and we wanted to ensure that they got to have an adventure they would remember for the rest of their lives. Capitol Segway Tours provided one of their best memories. Our guide Tyler took us around on a two hour journey sharing facts and anecdotal stories personalizing what we saw. While ensuring that we (two hesitant moms) were "doing OK" Tyler provided our scouts the confidence to fearlessly travel through the city. Tyler made us feel that we could do it all. When our trip was over and we were recapping for our families, the guys were asked what was their favorite part of the their trip, unanimously they shouted the Segway Tour. Many thanks to the staff at Capital Segway and to our guide, Tyler for the best experience ever. Boy Scout Troop 232 Phoenix, Arizona

What a blast! My husband and I and two teenage sons really enjoyed our 2 hour tour. We started our vacation with this, to get an overview of the sights. The guide was great, and the Segways were so much fun. Highly recommended!

Little scary at first but the excellent guides provided necessary assistance at all times until I was comfortable on the Segway. Terrific tour for visitors or residents. I loved the route on the two-hour. Perfect!!!

No better way to spend 2 hours in DC
Sun, Jun 10, 12   10:30 AM jacobv Male 30-39 Local Family Without Children
There is absolutely no better way to spend 2 hours in DC than with Capital Segway on a tour. During the tour we saw many of the famous attractions, from the White House, the World War Two Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, many of the Smithsonian museums, the FBI building, the old Post Office, the Monument, the U.S. Capitol, and the list goes on and on and on. It would easily take a whole day on foot to see everything we saw on the tour, and that is if you can manage the walking. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and so much fun. He had a wealth of information to share with us. They company is extremely professional. We had so much fun that I am actually considering doing it again this weekend! Why can't I give them a 7 start rating? :)
