| We recommend this as the #1 thing to do for those extra special visitors/friends who come to Washington, DC. (Do this first before all other outings.)
My husband, 24 yr old stepson and I had a fun time Saturday, June 30 , 2007 on the 630p trip. Two positive, friendly instructor/tour leaders (Noah & Lenora, I believe) led us safely, with ease on a smooth ride around the city. Segways are easy/safe to get on/off and "drive/ride." The practice session in the park across the street before the tour was valuable, allowing time to create a SW operator comfort zone.
Any responsible individual over 16-80 yrs would be a good candidate for this adventure. Wear flat shoes, as you will be on your feet 2-3 hrs. Anyone unable to withstand that should not participate.
Our summer evening event was peaceful, in superb weather, with plenty of room to navigate. You may have been on tours that take the visitor door-to-door to the museums and buildings. You may have worked and driven all around the area many, many times. You may have even walked a few times to/from the attractions/around the mall, et al. I have done all 3.) However, you have never experienced the ease, safety, swiftness, height advantage or riding fun touring around on an oh-so-easy-to-operate Model 2 Segway offers!
(The $65 each price tag was well worth it. If the electric battery charge had a range of 50 miles, rather than 24, we'd be sure to own two each of these ~$5100 models.)
We can't wait to find 2 more couples to join us for a more private tour this summer.
Have a blast! Do remember to bring your camera.
V/r,
Suzette & family

The only complaint I can make about this segway tour is that we didn't have enough time on them. It's a very nice tour, and flying around on segways is a great way to spend an afternoon. The only thing better than a 2 hour tour would be a 3 hour tour.

We had a great time. The guide had some interesting information on the sites we visited. It's too bad the tour is unable to go by the WWII Memorial.

Our group was a 48 year old Mom with a 52 year old Mom, Sister-in-law (SIL). If we can ride these things - anyone can! :) In fact, my SIL said it was the most fun she'd ever had, and without a doubt, the highlight of the trip to the D.C. area. I completely agree! It took all of 5 minutes to "get the hang" of riding the Segway. By half way thru the trip, we were admonishing ourselves to "not get too cocky" on them! Ha! We were the envy of all who saw us - from the young who thought, "WAY COOL - I'd love to ride one of those", to the huddled masses, sitting and resting their tired feet and overheated bodies thinking.... "Hmmm, why didn't we think of that"! I live near D.C. and am lining up friends and associates to take the tour and experience the fun. You cover a lot of distance in a short amount of time, get up-close looks at key sites, and have a blast all the while you're doing it. IT'S WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY TO TOUR D.C. - OR ANY CITY - THIS WAY. I can't say enough positive things about the experience. 2 hours is perfect and we had a short break at the Capital building - sitting in the shade and having a photo shoot. Can't wait to do it again! You gotta try this. :)

Loved going on the Segway. The tour was shorter than the 2 hours advertised, though.

This is a blast. Unique, lots of fun and informative. They take you around to five of the major sites on the Segway: White House, Blair House, Washington Monument, Smithsonian buildings and the Capitol building. They give you a brief history behind each of these places. They also point out other points of interest along the way. You don't go into any of the places. Tour takes about 2 hours. It's a great and incredibly fun way to give someone a high-level tour of the city and layout of the major sites.

My 5 friends and I loved the segway tour. The tour guys were excellent and answered all questions about both the segways and DC. The only thing wrong with the experience was that you had to return the machines after only 2 hours.

A friend and I went on our day off and loved it!! We were a little hesitant since we hadn't seen too many people doing the tour, but now I can't believe we didn't do it sooner. The machines were brand new and very easy to operate. A 5 min training session was all we needed to feel comfortable. I will never walk the monument tour again!!! The Segway let us cover so much ground in only 2 hours. After we were done with the tour, we immediately began discussing our next Segway tour!
