My wife and I signed up for a segway tour after some other friends recommended it. We landed on Capital Segway because they were right around the corner from our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn downtown) and they had the tour time available that we wanted.
Out of our 4 day trip in DC, we both agreed the best part of our trip was the segway tour. We were both a little nervous getting out on the sidewalk the first time, but we quickly got used to the segways. Before too long we were cruising up and down stairs and giving two-handed high fives to secret service agents outside the White House. Ok, so I made that last sentence up, but they were really quick to get used to and tons of fun.
Our tour guide, Tyler, made the tour. He was very knowledgeable and funny. I really enjoyed watching how he interacted with the pedestrians we passed by while gliding around, and his hand motions and stuff were hilarious! He asked if we had anything in particular we wanted to see, and we all wanted to focus the tour around the Lincoln Memorial, so that's where we headed. We got some great views of the various sites in the area, as well as the Capital Building, museums, Washington Monument, and other buildings that we didn't know were significant until we took the tour.
We took the two hour tour, which including 30 minutes or so of training and practice time. Overall, I highly recommend it! |

My college age daughter was home for spring break and we had always wanted to ride Segways, so we decided to buy tickets and take the 2 hour tour. We chose this company because they offered headsets, do not artificially limit the speed of the Segways, and spend the whole 2 hours riding, with some short stops for photo ops.
Learning to ride was easy. They gave a short demo in the store and then made sure everyone knew the basics. Then we went across to the park for a little practice before heading out on the tour. Tyler and Jimmy were great tour guides. I've lived in the area for years, but I still learned quite a few fun facts. Having the headsets really made the tour as the guides could give non-stop commentary as we rode. We stopped a few places for photo ops and Tyler and Jimmy were more than willing to take photos of us in front of the various landmarks.
The Segways themselves seem very well maintained and I appreciated that we could go full throttle if we wanted.
Bottom line for me is this. The next time any guests come to town, I'm taking them on a Capital Segway tour. And if I find myself in another city that offers Capital Segway tours, I'm signing up on the spot. It's just that much fun |

This is the second time I've taken visitors on Segway tour with Capitol Segway. They competently ensure that everyone can maneuver on a Segway and, with our group of about eight, they had two tour guides that ensured our safety around the city. Additionally, the historical information they give during the tour was informative, fun, and added to what I already knew about our nation's capitol. |

Worst Tour Guide Ever - and time cut short

The tour guide was unprepared, unrehearsed, and gave no information about the sites or history. He simply pointed out the things we drove by such as "and there is the white house", I do NOT recommend these guys. They also cut the tour short by 20 minutes. We were ahead of schedule, so they just drove us back to the store.
I highly suggest going with ANOTHER company! Very disappointing. I liked the 2 hr tour, but because we did not get off but once, our feet were very sore. I SUGGEST going with the company that gives the 3 hr tours with more time! I could have given more information about the sites just reading the map! |

Our group had several out of own guests. Our tour guide, Tyler, made it a fun and educational tour for locals and out of town guests.. The pace was right on and we got to see and do everything that we wanted to do. The Segways added to that experience and were a piece of cake for us to master in minutes. By the first street of our tour, we all felt like old pros.
Highly recommend the tour - ask for Tyler! |

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, from the the learning in the park to the advice on the hotels and restaurants- The "W" was brilliant advice! Walking round in the afternoon and seeing other companies starting up look amateur in comparison- I was lucky to have picked you. ONly regret was it was 2 hours and not more. iwould have also have gone for a hire for the afternoon afterwards. Walking to the presidents monuments felt slow! |

Our tour guide, Tyler, was great. His intro and explanation of the Segways made us feel completely at ease with the machines. The route he took us on gave my visiting family a perfect overview of the city. Then we knew what spots we wanted to re-visit and get a closer look. I recommend you make this your first activity when you get to DC! |

This was such a fun way to see the city. The guide was very professional and kept us entertained throughout. It was my first time on a Segway and the instructors made sure I was adequately trained before taking to the streets. It was a super experience, so good that I've decided to do this kind of thing whenever I visit a new city. Superb! |
