Segway is intuitively easy to ride; quickly became comfortable on it. Tour leader was knowledgeable, tolerant of beginner's, and fun.

Great Way to See the City and have some fun

WE are a family of 5 with the youngest being 17. We wanted to end our vacation with a fun activity but still informational. The only thing I can say is that we should have done this at the beginning. The tour was a good combination of sightseeing, information and fun. I would recommend this to anyone.

I highly recommend doing this tour. Knowledgable and humerous instructor / guide. Wear a pair of comfortable shoes though ... after all you will be standing for 2+ hours. Also, if you plan to take any pictures bring along a compact digital camera ... I found having to take out and then repack my digital SLR (with a very heavy zoom lens) an inconvenience. My only regret is putting off doing the tour until my 2nd last day in Washington. If I could I would have done the tour again. Take the tour .... it will be a blast!

One of the best ways to see DC

I've lived in DC for 22 years now, and this is hands down the best way to see DC, especially now that DC has some of the most extensive bike lanes of any American city. It's exhilarating, the tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and you can tell friends you've ridden a Segway. For those of you apprehensive about the motor skills required to ride a Segway, it's minimal. My 68 old mother, after initially being apprehensive, declares she wants to buy one now. We went out after a rainy morning, and despite wet and damp sidewalks and roads, did not feel unsafe at any point.

FANTASTIC way to see DC!

This is an amazingly wonderful way to see DC. Justin, one of our tour guides, is very personable, fun & funny. He made it! We also had Matt as a tour guide, who was very good as well. We had a two hour tour. While these young male tour guides may have no problem lasting for that long without a break, we only had one 5 minute break and really could have used one or two more to stretch out the legs. As an...older...woman, my feet and ankles were numb when we ended. I only wish I would have spoke up more to take a break. Other than that, this tour is not to be missed!! Request Justin as a guide if you can.

Perhaps anytime you ride a Segway you can have a good time. But when the operators understand what the customer REALLY wants - and then gives it to them - Good goes to great. I was a bit concerned if I could find my balance, I had one-on-one coaching; Done! I never said I'd like time to play with the toy, "Take another 5 minutes to enjoy yourselves!"; Done! (The folks at home aren't going to believe this) "Hey, come over here and let me take a picture for you."; Done! Highlights; rolled right up to the door where the US Senators go to work, Never worried about traffic (my guide did that for me.) I tired to stump the guide with questions - he never missed a beat! You can see more and hear more on a seated tour, but you can't touch the marble wall of the US Capitol - like I did! You can sit comfortably in an air conditioned bus, but you won't hear the birds, or the fountains or smell the flowers. You can drive by a monument, but you won't be able to stop to read the inscription. Capital Segway; When you want more than a "Drive-by Sighting"

Wow, what an incredible experience!

The Capital Segway tour was one of the high points of our brief vacation in Washington, DC. The machines are fascinating, maneuverable, and surprisingly easy to use; our guides, Justin and Matt, were knowledgeable, bright, and funny, and the tour was worth every penny. The only downside: now I want a Segway of my very own, and I can't afford one!

The best way to tour DC!

This is far and away the best way to tour DC, or any city for that matter. The Segways are both easy to use and a lot of fun. You've got much more freedom on a tour than if you're on a bus or some other vehicle, and you can cover a lot more ground than by walking. You're connected to the tour guide through a wireless headset, and he's great at not only providing a commentary on the sites, but also about what lane to be in, and where to go (in case you're at the back of the pack). After the tour, I found myself wanting to find other Segway tours to see some of the sites that this one didn't cover. The tour was the first thing we did in DC, in order to get the lay of the land, and figure out what else we wanted to see, and I'm glad we did it that way. I have no hesitancy in recommending Capital Segway, and I would highly reccomend this particular tour. Thanks guys! You were the highlight of our trip!
