| When you're in a new town, taking a tour is a great way to see the highlights and get some local insight. Usually it's on a bus, but the segway tour is by far the coolest I've done. The tour was good; the guides were very friendly and helpful; the segways were the bomb. It was very relaxed - I never felt like I was being rushed. If I stopped to take pictures of something in between regular stops, the follow-up guide would stay and then we'd catch up to the others (which was fun 'cause we got to go full out).
We ride Harleys and my kids and grandkids told me that my wife would never go for this. Ha! She thought it was great. Now if only I could justify getting one. |

| The machine is a lot of fun and very easy to master. The tour itself is interesting and unusual (even for this Washingtonian, I learned a lot), and our tour guide Karen was fantastic! A real pleasure to spend two hours with.
It's a very unusual way to spend a morning in the nation's capital, which I can heartily recommend. |

| The staff at the Segway store put us seniors (63-74) at ease with their thorough training before practice in the adjacent park. By the time the tour ended we were cruising comfortably at near max speed on the DC streets.
My wife complained that her helmet smelled like dirty hair, and her headset stopped working during the last half hour of the tour. On this warm September day I appreciated the provision of a chilled bottle of water.
Scott, our guide, led our group of six with enthusiasm and humor. The stops were well timed. Scott provided good info about the sites and offered to take our pictures several times during this memorable excursion. Recreational bikers all, we agreed that this was the most fun we'd had in a long time. |

| I am 60 years old, consider myself generally uncoordinated and out of shape, and grew up outside D. C. and have seen it a million times -- all good reasons not to do this tour. But it was so much fun that I want to take every friend I have and do it again! Forget going into the boring old buildings and seeing pictures of people long gone -- zip through the streets and have strangers smile at you (or not -- they are probably jealous) while you are grooving along at 10 m.p.h. and feeling like you could take off and fly. Plus the tour guides have great stories to tell that I had never heard before (like why the Washington Monument was almost torn down before it was finished -- power plays -- the usual thing). It's really easy, promise! |

| Excellent equipment, easy to learn to use. Strong and invaluable input from guides with new insights on DC even for us who had visited the city many times. |

| We had a ball. The staff was very helpful and supportive of one of the people in our trio who was very anxious about the activity. |

| Do not hold back on taking the Segway tour of Washington, DC! Anyone can learn to ride a Segway in less than three minutes--the key insight? It balances you, you do not balance the Segway!
I held back because I am close to 70 years of age. Then I saw a lady who had ten or 15 years on me, happily cruising down the DC streets, so my wife and I gave it a try. We were up and going in less than three minutes. Now, I've taken four groups of friends and out-of-town visitors for their rides. It is as close to flying as you will ever get, while staying on the ground.
Two asides: 1) If you cannot stand for about two hours, with occasional rests to sit down, it is not for you, and 2) take an evening or late afternoon tour if possible.
Why? The tour guides are young and healthy and "party-hearty." For them, the day begins about 5 PM when they wake up. You'll get the same spiel on any trip, but the enthusiasm is definitely lacking in the morning and early afternoon. |

| What an outstanding experience! Aaron, our Segway guide was excellent! I especially enjoyed having the wireless microphones so we could hear his narration of the tour. I will definitely be bringing other guests on this tour. Thank you! |
