Liked the tour...first tour guide seemed more animated and provided more historical context. Guide on second half of tour seemed to "skim" over things too quickly.
Also thought time spent driving segway in parking lot could have been better spent seeing more attractions. (i.e. lincolyn's monument, vietnam's memorial etc.) |

I arranged our tour as a surprise 30th anniversary gift to my wife and we had a great time. I signed us up with the smaller group so my wife wouldn't feel intimidated by the larger group of riders, and it being a surprise I wanted her to feel safe with the tour guide being close all of the time. The small group was just right for us and made it easier to stay together as a group. The radios made the tour even better because at each stop we could ride around instead of constantly gathering around the tour guide, plus he was able to give us directions/instructions at the cross-streets even before we got to the stop. We had a great time seeing the sights of DC and even rode along a part of the Marine Corps Marathon, sharing the road with the many runners (I did feel a little guilty because they looked like they were hurting and I was cruising along). We never felt rushed, and the segways are very easy to ride once you understand the concept, and before we even noticed it my wife and I were riding them like old pros. We had lunch at the Cafe du Parc in the Willard Hotel (my wife saw it while on the tour and that's why we ate there) and finished the day by taking the Metro to Arlington National Cemetery to pay our respects and view the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns. All in all a truly memorable day, thanks Capital Segway! |

There was a marathon event happening around the mall so our guide took us around it. Our guide was very informative and fun. |

Without a doubt the best thing I've done in a while. The tour was a lot of fun. They do a 5 minute safety video, then another 5 minute live demonstration of how to ride a Segway. You get suited up in a helmet and headset. I was thinking the headset might look super geeky, but it's just a little unit that goes in your pocket and an earbud. Then they help you get on the Segway. It literally took me about 15 seconds to get comfortable. A little shaky for a few seconds and then it just seemed natural. After giving everyone a few minutes to ride around in the office we headed across the street to a park and were given another 5 minutes or so to get comfortable. Then the tour headed off. We went past the White House, Lincoln Memorial, National Mall, Capital and other minor sights in between. There were several 10-15 minutes stops (White House and Lincoln Memorial) where you could play around on the Segway or get off and take pictures. I've been to DC numerous times before so I never got off the Segway the entire 2 hours. They let you go up to the maximum 12.5 miles per hour, which I did whenever possible. I'd never been on a Segway before and it was a blast. We had two guides, one up front and one catching stragglers. They each narrated part of the tour and were informative and funny. I highly recommend this for DC newbies and veterans alike. If you're a newbie you'll enjoy the sights, either way you'll enjoy playing around on the Segway. |

Had a wonderful time! This is a great way to see a bit of the city and get the history of the sites visited. The guides are wonderful, friendly, encouraging, and always quietly watching so it was very safe. |

Just enough practice time & a great 2hrs with fun commentary on a beautiful, chilly, fall day. Great way to get the lay of the land around the White House & National Mall, learn some fun facts, and have a blast! |

I recently attended the Rally to Restore Sanity in DC and this was my first trip to the city. On our first day there we did the Segway tour and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. In about 2 hours we were able to orient ourselves with the city and determine what we really wanted to go and see later and what we could skip out on this time. Our tour guides were absolutely fantastic, incredibly informative without being boring. A true "must do" for anyone. |

Segwaying IS fun.
Touring a city like Washington is a big job.
Zipping along with Scott was great. Good weather , a bit of humour,
The President landing in his helicopter (we got lucky there)
Embrace the Segway at this cost you get to play with a $5000 gadget .
Two of the group just about made it out of the shop, in twenty minutes
they were ready, after 2 hours so relaxed.
Remember you are experiencing the Segway ... in DC ... you go where
the Presidents go after The Inauguration back to the White House.
Great two hours. |
