Capital Segway

I found the company on the web and booked over the web too. All very easy to do. I just turned up at their easy to find store and they had my reservation. We had a good introduction on how to ride safely and practiced riding in the store and across the street in the little park before heading off to the first stop: the Whitehouse! The tour takes in great places and our guide Will looked after everybody right throughout the tour. He is from DC so was very knowledgeable and good humoured. There was never any rush to get back and end at the tour dead on 5 pm as scheduled. We had a small group so it was a very enjoyable experience and I didn't want to give the degway back! I really wanted to ride a Segway and this provided the perfect opportunity to learn to do that. Instruction is very relaxed, the guys are great and patient with new and inexperienced students like me. The outside practice in the park after initial instructions made me feel very comfortable on the Segway. Then the tour began! Will, our guide, was great, very knowledgeable, had some great stories to tell about the sights we saw. He was also very funny, which helped since we were listening to him on our headphones for two hours! It was fantastic to whiz along the sidewalks and open plaza areas (especially around the White House) at top speed! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the company! It was terribly hot the day I went, which cannot be predicted, but Will made sure the group had plenty of water and breaks because of the heat. I would highly recommend this tour.

It's a pretty special experience to ride segway and sightsee D.C. Although the tour it self is pretty brief. But the guide is friendy and well known about the city itself. The lesson before we start tour is also good. I like this trip.

I really enjoyed the tour. My wife and a family friend joined me on this adventure. I was like you were floating around the city. People would stop and look at our grouup, wishig they were the ones on our magic carpets. I would recommend this to anyone. My son will be visiting the Washington DC next month and I told him he had to do this tour and he lived in the city for six years One fhe highlights of our stay in Washington DC.

We had never used a Segway before and were surprised at how much fun it was. Our guide spent a good amount of time going over the features and having us practice. By the time we started out on the tour, we were comfortable on the Segway and had a great time riding on it. The tour itself was great . We loved the whole thing and would definitely recommend it!

This was an intimate and fun way to see the city. We saw many monuments and other highlights. Our tour guide was very informative. It gave us an overall of the city and we experienced it close up.

We saved this activity for the last day, to enjoy with our 17 yr. old son. The guide was fun and full of facts, and I loved that we could get so "up close" to the buildings on the tour. Riding the Segways was fun and easy, and we got a lot of attention from the other walking tourists. We loved it!

My 16 year old son and I had an unbelievable tour of Washington on the Segway. Our guide, Aaron, was very informed and really made the tour enjoyabel. Riding the segway was great fun, and every where we went people were asking where can they rent them. I plan on doing the tour again with my wife and daughter - they were so jealous when they saw the video I shot.

My brother and I attended a wedding in the area, and we decided to cram in some sightseeing. We are SO glad we did. We had a ball, and our Facebook photos are getting rave reviews!

Fabulous way to see the city

The reason for taking the Segway tour centered more around the Segway itself than the actual sightseeing, as our family has resided in the Northern Virginia-DC area for a long time. However, we found both the Segway ride and the tour itself to be lots of fun. The training on the Segway was very well done...the description of what to expect was excellent, the in-store demonstration put most people at ease, and the confidence-building exercises were sufficient before actually going on tour. Once "on the street" it took only a few minutes for the operation of the Segway to become intuitive, and it was entirely possible to enjoy the tour without having to concentrate too much on operation of the device. The big surprise (for me) was the patter of the tour guides. The informative, and at times slightly irreverant banter, was exactly right for people such as those in my familiar group, who are well familiar with the major attractions of the area. However, the historic information might not have been enough for first-time visitors to DC. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I will highly recommend to visitors, and hope to experience again myself.

Half of our group are not 'walking enthusiasts' so the segway provided a way for us to see all the sights. We termed the segway as an 'equalizer' where everyone could travel at the same speed. And it was fun. your first doubts of being able to do it were erased after about 5 minutes. Not only were we able to go to most of the sights, but we had a lot of time to tool around. A word to describe it- fun. I would definitely recommend it. we are now looking for other cities that have segway tours.

We, as a group could not stop talking about how much fun we had touring on a Segway. It allowed us to go to places where a tour bus could not get to, plus it was easy to handle and provided a fun way to explore historical sites. it brought the child in all of us.

WOW - This this was a fun thing to do! Blasting over the sidewalks of DC at more than 10 mph was worth the money, the tour and the tour guides were great too! I cant wait till my kids are 16 so I can do it again!
