Capital Segway

The segways are easy to get comfortable on ... before you know it we were off to see the White House! On Saturday afternoon (of St. Patrick's Day) with warm weather, the streets were crowded and slowed us down a bit, but it was so much better than walking. Only wish we got to see more monuments. Guides were helpful...maybe now always historically accurate, but very sweet and helpful guys!

The tour was so much fun...and the segway is so much easier to use than I thought it would be! Know that your feet will hurt a bit after awhile - but not too much to dissuade you from doing this. Some of the info given by one of the guides was completely inaccurate; but, to me, this wasn't a huge deal. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this super-fun event!

My 16-year-old daughter and I agree that the Capital Segway tour around DC is THE highlight of our two-week trip here. The segways were easy to get comfortable on and our tour guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, had great humor and was very in tune and patient with the needs of each segway driver. We loved the running commentary that we could hear so well through our ear pieces. It was a fun, fast and relaxing way to get a good overview of the lay of the land. We highly recomend the segway tour with Capital Segway.

We love Capital Segway. We live in the DC metro area and always recommend the segway tour to friends and family who come to visit. It is a great way to tour DC. I have used Capital Segway multiple times and have always been happy with my tour. The guides are knowledgeable about the area and always seem to enjoy their work. They are also patient with new riders (which is important for those that are nervous). I also recommend Capital Segway because they use headsets to talk during the tour instead of yelling to the group. They also keep the tour groups small which I like. I highly recommend Capital Segway.

Learning to operate the Segway was quite easy. You use the pressure points in your feet to operate the Segway and that makes your feet very tired and somewhat painful. The guide was knowledgeable and very nice. I enjoyed the experience but you miss a lot of any sightseeing if you are the driver, no matter the type of vehicle.

This is a great activity for an overview of D.C. along with the fun of riding a Segway. Having done this in another city, this was far superior. This tour guide was connected to the participants via headset so we didn't just ride around, we heard about the sites we were passing and the history along with the humor! This was a surprise birthday present to our college aged son who LOVED it. I would highly recommend this tour. Make sure to provide a student ID if you have one to get a discount!

I consider myself a local, been in the area 14 years, so I am pretty familiar with the city. My family was visiting from Puerto Rico and I wanted to do something different. I got across this tour and I figured it would be fun.... and ohh boy it was fun!! saw the city from a different perspective and learned a lot. The tour guide was very enthusiastic and helpful. The segway is easy to operate, no much training needed, even my grandma could do it! I highly recommend this tour.

We spent a short time getting use to our Segways. 5 gyroscopes make the Segways incredibly stable and quick to master. After a short orientation and practice indoors, we went across the street to a park and spent a short time learning how to execute a quick stop, turning (including an easy full circle which makes backing up unnecessary) and keeping in a line with the guide and the other riders. We had a two hour tour of such primary stops as the White House, the Smithsonian, the Washington Monument, the new Native American Museum, etc. We rode in bike lanes very safely. Our guide ensured that traffic would stop if needed to get across an intersection, etc. All together, a fun time was had by all who agreed that we were looking forward to our next ride.

as a last minute decision, this was the best thng we did in DC, in fact, it was amongst the best experiences of our whole time in the US. The segways were much easier than they look to drive and the tour guides were awesome - very patient, friendly and informative. A must-do when you are in town - the best $65 we've spent!!

This is my second time, and I hope to have a third one! I loved it. It was slightly different than my first since a different guide provided the commentary. The only think I wish could have been different is that they would not let my pregnant daughter go along. I think their concerns were way over the top and wish she could have gone along! But I do not blame them for being afraid of opening themselves up to the risk.

Tyler was a great tour guide!! Great stories, great instruction prior to the tour - we really enjoyed ourselves and we will book a tour for our out-of-town guests. This was a wonderful experience!

This was an amazing experience. The staff helped our group feel very comfortable and were able to teach us how to use the segways so fast. The tour its self was awesome as we saw alot of landmarks in DC and had a cool history lesson to boot. Thank you to the staff for a very fun afternoon!!

We had a great time on the segway tour. We had a wide age range in our group and all adapted well to the Segways. It was a very cold day for our tour - would recommend that you bundle up to tour Washington D.C.

Our guide was fabulous. He took pictures of the group at all the landmarks we wanted. Segway instruction was clear, entire group ready in no time. Ear phones were a plus ....allowing the ability to not have to stop to hear about the site. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and humorous. Not only did we all have a blast, but we learned things too. We will return for another tour in the summer. Super fun.
