Capital Segway

The segways were surprisingly easy to learn. It's a great way get an overview of DC but don't expect to stop and explore like you do on many of the bus tours.

We loved this tour and our tour guide, Will. It was just the right amount of time (2 hours). Anything longer we would have gotten a bit tired and anything shorter would have left us wanting more. Keep in mind that if you are older or out of shape, this tour will tire you because you are standing and working your calf muscles for 2 straight hours. My wife was surprised and even a little taken aback when I told her I booked this tour, but by the end she was a complete fan and I was a hero for booking this totally cool, completely different type of tour. Will was very good about providing real historical details along our tour and he was always ready to take a photograph (good ones too!) if you wanted. I suggest you bring some water or grab a bottle of water in their office (they had a couple boxes sitting in the office, but they never offered it to any of the guests which was a bit strange).

Tour slightly limited by huge range of ability of "tourists". We spent a very long time in the park across the street before actually going anywhere. That said, I would still recommend it.

It was a blast. Adam, Noah, and Jason got us up and running quickly and were all terrific guides. We enjoyed the sights a lot, even though half of us were local. It was surprising how much ground we covered. We're planning to do it again soon . . . like in another week when our next guest comes. You have become our favorite thing to do with out-of-towners and I even recommend it to my in-town friends.

We really enjoyed our Washington DC tour on the segways. The segway operating directions were very clear and the tour guide (Noah) was very patient. We found it to be very affordable as we could tour much of the city, while having fun, in just two hours. It was a great experience!!

Other Segway tours I've been on have been 4 hrs or more with lunch included. This one was shorter and didn't hit some of the sights such as Fords theatre which was strange since it was the closest attraction to their offices. Overall the guides were knowledgeable and I probably would have never noticed anything lacking had I not been on a Segway tour before.

This was an excellant experience. All of the Capital Segway employees were knowledgeable and friendly. My 73 year old Mom was with me and she had a blast. It was the most fun I have had in a long time as well as being informative. Thanks to the Capital Segway crew who took extra time with my Mom and made her feel comfortable while riding. S. DeNeal

I definitely recommend this-not only was it fun riding a Segway, we wound up covering more ground than we would have just walking. The tour length was just right, and the guide was knowledgeable and amiable.

One of the best experiences I have ever had for sightseeing. Very natural and intuitive means of transportation. Our tour guide made the day. His in-depth knowledge of Washington history, made for a delightful morning. I totally enjoyed the ride! Wish I could afford to buy one of these!

This was our favorite activity in DC. My son and I thought it was awesome.

Segway tour is a great and easy way to see the city and its major sights. A lot of fun with a friendly and funny guide. December was a bit too cold for 2-hour tour though...

I did a segway tour a few years back and this far surpassed it! Quick and easy check in and orientation. Tour covered pertinent sites and was more on the periphery of the city vs clustered among a lot of peds. James provided relevant details but didn't drone on yet was willing to answer if asked. Highly recommended!!

The Segway tour offered a quick over view of DC's main sight seeing locations while offering a fun and informational experience offered by their tour guide. I would recommend it to anyone visiting, and friends who live in the DC's to offer something "different" to do.

We had a great time. It was so much fun riding on the Segway. We got to see a lot of the city. My daughter and I didn't want to get off.

My father(62) and brother(23) were visiting my spouse(24) and me(24) this past weekend. They had never been on a segway, and they wanted to do a tour of the city. My spouse and I have done segway tours in Boston and really enjoyed using the segways, so we decided this would be a great experience and a great way for all of us to see the city. Our tour guides (Tyler and Matt) were excellent! Capital Segway provided one way radios and headphones so you could clearly hear the tour guides while riding the segway (unless you were in the very back of our over 20 person group), or when we were stopped at sights. This is the third segway city tour I've been on, and by far the very best! The guides make sure everyone feels comfortable on the segway before you leave the store, and are always available if you have concerns or questions along the tour. My only complaint was I wish the group had not been so large, or that the guide in the front of the group would not have pulled so far ahead of the rest of the group. There were obviously some people who weren't comfortable going as fast as others, and they created a large gap between the people behind them and the people in front of them. If you were behind them, there were times that you could not hear the guide because of static from being too far away. I wish the guide in the back would have communicated this gap with the guide in the front, so he would have known to go slower, so everyone could hear clearly. Overall, everyone in my group had a great experience and my spouse and I are very glad we decided to go with Capital Segway!
