We had a ball. The staff was very helpful and supportive of one of the people in our trio who was very anxious about the activity.

Best Segway Tour operator in DC
Sat, Aug 15  9:30 AM tucsonphil Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We knew we picked the best operator when we arrived at the US Capitol. The competitions group was there. They had cheesy helmets, no radio receivers (there leader was yelling to them) and I know they all put down a $500 deposit. We had 2 great guides and the instruction for us, as first time Segway riders, was just right. We would do it again! Phil and Kris from Tucson

Great Time for all Ages

The Segway tour was all that we expected and more. My wife was very nervous at first but within minutes she was riding like a pro. We took (4) different types of tours while in D.C. and by far the Segway was the best. We will do it again in the near future. The guides were very knowledgable and fun.

Everyone in my party (age range 18-75) really enjoyed the Segway tour. My only suggestion is that for the 8 pm tour (the one we took) anyone with even slight sight impairment be followed closely or paired with a buddy or something so that on the darkest stretches obstructions can be pointed out. My 75 year old uncle collided with a large immobile object primarily because it was a dark unlit stretch of sidewalk and he couldn't discern the subtle shades of gray needed to make out the objects' presence. He could have been paying better attention, but if it had been lighter chances are better he would have avoided the collision; or if I had known to stay close to him to point out the objects if it looked like he was going hit something. He was not at all hurt; not even sore the next day, and he had a really good time.

Road surfin' the sights by Segway in DC
Fri, Aug 14  10:00 AM KarenDe Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
I'll be brief! If you like surfing, moving faster than a pedestrian, and always wanted to be like George Jetson on those super cool, retro futuristic transportation vehicles of the 70's cartoon world, then the CapSegway tour is a MUST DO - whether you know DC well already or are visiting for the first time! We whizzed up and down DC streets and sidewalks and took in the White House, the Ellipse, The Washington Monument, the Mall and the museums, the Capitol, the Smithsonian Castle, etc. etc.! Ask for Aaron - he was great! And get ready to laugh and have a good ol' time feeling silly and cool and wishing you could commute this way more often!

This is a *MUST DO* when visiting DC!

The capital segway tour was excellent! I absolutely loved it and will always recommend it to others. The night tour is beautiful and great for taking pictures. The tour guides were very informative and super friendly. I really liked how they would look out for everyone's safety when we were near vehicles. I felt very safe and comfortable enough to ask them questions. I really liked that we all had our own audio receivers to be able to listen to our tour guides during the entire time. I did notice, during the tour we passed by another segway tour (not part of capital segway)that did not have the audio receivers and could not hear what their tour guides were saying. Needless to say, there was a lot of screaming and confusion in that tour group. I cannot say enough great things about Capital Segway tours.

Best Tour in DC

My husband and I, along with our two teenage boys, had a great time on our Segway tour of Washington, DC. Our tour guide, Karen, was awesome. She had lots of good facts about each of the locations we would pass and made it very interesting. It is the best way to see the mall, from the WWII Memorial all the way to the Capital. It was by far the best tour we went on in DC. I would recommend going on the Segway tour at the beginning of your vacation, because our guide pointed out some things that we had not seen. In regards to riding the Segway, it was so easy. My family talked about afterwards that it was so FUN and we never felt uneasy on them. I highly recommend the Segway tour. I will do it again if in Washington, or any city I visit that has Segway tours. Also, if you are a parent of a teenager, your kids will love you for it if you sign up.

I recommend the Segway Tour
Thu, Aug 13  9:00 AM zerve3266 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
Our young tour guide seemed a bit laissez-faire about the whole process. He often did not speak into the microphone, so we missed a few tidbits, but overall, we were satisfied. Additionally, he could have shared MANY more facts about the sights and had plenty of time to do so as we only had four people on our tour. I would still recommend the Segway Tour to visiting tourists.

Awesome & Informative Segway Tour!

We took the tour of Washington DC on Segways, and had the BEST experience. Did our sightseeing in a new & fun way, and also learned some things along the way. Although I was nervous about riding the segways (being somewhat uncoordinated), the staff reassured me & had me up & riding confidently in a very short amount of time. Our tour guide, Karen, was very knowledgeable & fun to tour with! I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in doing something different while still being educational! My children (16 year old twins, 17 year old), my husband and I wouldn't hesitate to take the tour again the next time we are in DC.

Anyone can do it!
Wed, Aug 12  10:00 AM CMFerguson Male 60-69 Local Group of Friends
Do not hold back on taking the Segway tour of Washington, DC! Anyone can learn to ride a Segway in less than three minutes--the key insight? It balances you, you do not balance the Segway! I held back because I am close to 70 years of age. Then I saw a lady who had ten or 15 years on me, happily cruising down the DC streets, so my wife and I gave it a try. We were up and going in less than three minutes. Now, I've taken four groups of friends and out-of-town visitors for their rides. It is as close to flying as you will ever get, while staying on the ground. Two asides: 1) If you cannot stand for about two hours, with occasional rests to sit down, it is not for you, and 2) take an evening or late afternoon tour if possible. Why? The tour guides are young and healthy and "party-hearty." For them, the day begins about 5 PM when they wake up. You'll get the same spiel on any trip, but the enthusiasm is definitely lacking in the morning and early afternoon.

The Best

My teenage son and I went on the evening tour after a full day in DC. All of my fear quickly diminished upon the completion of the thorough Segway training session. Our guide / instructor explained in practical terms just how easy the Segway was to operate. After the orientation, we become even better acclimated to the new device as we spent some time tooling through the park across the street. After a few minutes everyone in our group was maneuvering around displaying their newly acquired skills. Then it was off on our adventure. Nothing will compare to the memory of going back and forth in front of the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue or listening to the Navy Band as they played on the steps of the Capitol. Throughout the evening, our guide easily communicated to everyone through use of his FM radio transmitter. The evening was enjoyable, informative and most of all...FUN!
