Capital Segway

I had a wonderful time on this tour. I was in Washington on business and had only evenings free. I took a trolley "monuments by moonlight" tour earlier in the week. This was a good tour. However, when I found out about the segway tour, I was very anxious to try it. I had the usual fears, too old, too heavy, couldn't keep up etc. I was fearful that I would 'fail segway'. But I found it very easy to get used to the machine. I did find that my toes would go numb, but that must have been because I was using my feet exclusively, instead of the rest of my body weight to handle the segway. My only other minor problem was going down the ramps to cross the streets. However when I mentioned this to the guide he reminded me to keep my knees bent and I did not have any further concerns. My tour guide - Noah - was excellant!! He kept track of the group (luckily we had a small group - only 4 of us) very well and kept the speed consistant with the group's abilities. Noah also did a great job of informing the group about the various areas that we stopped at. His enthusiasm for the segway and the stops along the route was incredible. I had asked my co-workers on the trip with me to join me for the segway, but no-one was interested. However the next day and then again this week back at the job, everyone is talking about my segway tour and wanting to know more about it. Jealous - hehehe It was an awesome experience and one I would love to repeat again. It was the best tour I've ever taken.

Yes, even people in their 60's can easily operate a Segway! It's great fun and a fast and relaxing way to see D.C.! My husband and I heartily recommend you try it.

This tour was excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone. The tour guides were excellent. They were very good at training the group in the use of the segway, and the tour that they conducted was very well planned and executed! My friend and I did a lot of great, fun stuff in D.C., but this experience was at the top of my list of things to remember and recommend.

WHAT A GREAT WAY TO SEE THE CITY. WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME ON OUR TOUR AND OUR GUIDE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE. WE WANTED THE TOUR TO GO FOR LONGER THAN 2 HOURS!

After a short "get acquainted" session, we took our turns getting acquainted with the Segways. Learning to ride is simple and fast. Out the doors and down the sidewalks we rode! What fun! Despite the fact it was a hot day, and the sun was beating down, moving along at faster than walking speeds kept us cool. People watched us, talked to us, asked about the Segways - some even photographed us as we rode along in a twisting line. I am trying to organize a group from work to take their tour - simply because of the fun of riding the Segway. The only suggestion I would make to the tour organizers would be to have the riders get down off their platforms fairly frequently to rest our feet and move the ankles a bit; the best opportunities would be when the tour guide is giving us his spiel and has the group stationary in front of a monument or building. It was a great ride. Loved it!!!

Our group, six couples from 50's to 70's, was in DC for an AARP event. I have wanted to try a Segway and decided this would be the perfect place to do it. All of my friends agreed to come along. It was the highlight of our stay in Washington. Beside giving us an overview of the monuments, buildings and museums, it was just plain FUN! I would recommend the experience to anyone visiting DC.

It did not take us very long to learn how to use the Segways and we were off for an exciting two hour adventure. We moved quickly through the city and our guide watched out for us as we went through the traffic lights. We would stop at various buildings and our guide would give us a bit of history about each place. The guides were very knowledgeable about this wonderful city. Let's face it. You are riding a Segway! This was definitely the best tour I've ever taken of DC. I will definitely be doing it again!

I wish the "tour" part had been a little more detailed... I understand that the format of the tour is limited, but more details as to what we were visiting would have been nice. It was hard to hear what the guide was saying unless right up front. All in all, a good time!!!
