Capital Segway

With only a short amount of time to spend in DC, this was an excellent experience for tourists + newby segway adventurists.

A Segway tour is an outstanding way of getting around to explore primary DC memorial sights. This is the third time I had participated in a Segway city tour and I am always pleased with what was able to be seen in a relatively short period of time as well as the extreme fun it is to operate a Segway. I highly recommend the experience!

We had a great time on this tour - I highly recommend it. Nothing like seeing a city on a Segway!

I really enjoyed the segway experience and it is a great way to see the sites in an around the National Mall. I was surprised how quickly I learnt to use the segway and what great fun it was to ride. By the end of the hour or two it was very intuitive and I virtually forgot I was riding it. The sites in the mall and whitehouse were excellent of course the only shame was we did not get to the Lincoln Memorial. Tyler was very good at shepherding his "flock", "clutch" "gaggle" (what do you call a group of feldgling segway riders?) along and across the streets and paths. My only and significant disappointment was that my receiver kept cutting out. Tyler did have spare batteries and an earpiece but the receiver unit was the problem and a spare one of those would be handy for guides to carry instread of worrying about batteries etc. However it did work for 90% of the tour. We had booked the tour for the wrong date, so we had to stay in DC an extra day. We wanted to cancel or reschedule but it was not an option. But we are glad we waited. The Segway on itself is lots of fun. DC is a very intriguing city and full of culture. That and the very knowledgeable, easy going and enthusiastic guide made this a unique experience. We are now looking for Segway tours on other cities. By the way, individual headsets make the whole experience private yet public.

My son and I visited DC for 4 days to take in as much as we could in that time frame. We booked this activity as our FIRST thing to do. The Segway tour was a GREAT way to start - it gave us an opportunity to see most of the area we wanted to visit quickly and get the lay of the land so to speak. We used the experience to plan the rest of our visit. Andrew, on top of the great experience, was a lot of fun. Joe-Bob says "DO IT!"

Started with training. It was great but I thought the tourtime should be 2 hours and not include the trainingtime. Good guides especially our first guide the second tourguide was hard to understand because he was not talking so clear English. To have in ear communication from the guide was great and the reason I choosed this company and if I returned I should have choosed them again.

The tour guides were awesome. They were kind enough to take plenty of photos and were patient with teaching us. They provided us with ponchos which was great. Also, the sites we visited were cool, although I would've loved to see the MLK monument since it's so new. I have already suggested this tour to my friends and told them about how wonderful the tour guides were. Will definitely use this company next time I have friends visiting me

I've been on tours a lot of different places so it was nice to have the best aspects of a walking tour and a riding tour together. It was a fantastically fun way to see the major DC spots.

It is our the 2nd time on this DC tour, they do a great job and I love the head phones. Everyone hears what is being said along the tour. Easy to navagate the Segways. Great way to see parts of DC.

My father(62) and brother(23) were visiting my spouse(24) and me(24) this past weekend. They had never been on a segway, and they wanted to do a tour of the city. My spouse and I have done segway tours in Boston and really enjoyed using the segways, so we decided this would be a great experience and a great way for all of us to see the city. Our tour guides (Tyler and Matt) were excellent! Capital Segway provided one way radios and headphones so you could clearly hear the tour guides while riding the segway (unless you were in the very back of our over 20 person group), or when we were stopped at sights. This is the third segway city tour I've been on, and by far the very best! The guides make sure everyone feels comfortable on the segway before you leave the store, and are always available if you have concerns or questions along the tour. My only complaint was I wish the group had not been so large, or that the guide in the front of the group would not have pulled so far ahead of the rest of the group. There were obviously some people who weren't comfortable going as fast as others, and they created a large gap between the people behind them and the people in front of them. If you were behind them, there were times that you could not hear the guide because of static from being too far away. I wish the guide in the back would have communicated this gap with the guide in the front, so he would have known to go slower, so everyone could hear clearly. Overall, everyone in my group had a great experience and my spouse and I are very glad we decided to go with Capital Segway!

It was a great way to see a lot of DC in a short amount of time. Riding the Segway was so cool !

had an awesome time. the only criticism i have is that sometimes i couldnt hear the audio because the range wasnt far enough for when i was stuck at the back. otherwise great.

I chose Capital Segway because they offered headsets with a live guide. Other companies claimed they'd keep the groups small so everybody could hear. There's no way to say how happy I was I made that decision. The constant contact with our knowledgeable tour guide really enhanced the experience, regardless of how far we spread out. That would never happen without the headsets. I heartily recommend Capital Segway to anybody considering a Segway tour in DC, and will probably do it again myself if I go back..

The two tour guides were fantastic--first they made certain everyone understood how to operate the Segways, and were comfortable on them. Then, they provided a great, fun, tour of Washington DC, with some depth and humor. I highly recommend this tour and these guides, Andrew and his fellow tour partner, whose name escapes me right now, were enjoyable and I never knew DC could be this much fun. In fact, I am so enthusiastic about Segway tours that I plan on doing them in my own city when visitors come to see us.
