A TON OF FUN BUT NOT MUCH INFORMATION

We had a blast on the Segways! The tour guides were patient and did a great job training us. The tour was very nice, not as extensive as we would have liked because the Park Service limits the areas that Segways are permitted (we didn't see the Jefferson Memorial , Lincoln Memorial, Tidal Basin, etc), and while some basic facts were provided, it wasn't an informational tour. The focus and strength of the tour is the Segways, which were a so much fun and so easy to use. One tip: dress appropriately, the wind while riding can be very chilly, and bring gloves.

Unique way to see DC and experience a Segway
Sat, Mar 29, 08   3:30 PM jwick123 Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Seeing DC requires a lot of walking. The Segway is an ideal vehicle to use to get around this environment. Unfortunately the Park Service does not allow it on most of the National Mall, which is where the most significant amount of walking is found (except for mobility-impaired individuals). Our tour group consisted of people from 16 to 70-ish. Within 5 minutes everyone was competent on the Segway and safely intermingling with pedestrians. The tour isn't the informational tour you would expect from a tour bus. Afterall, everyone is spread out along the sidewalk/street. There are occasional stops for a few notable quips and quotes. Several major sites are visited, but it's mostly a Segway blast from the White House to the Capitol and back. Good safe fun was had by all. Well worth the money and time. You'll want to buy a Segway by the end of it (or at least hope someone gives you one).

Grandparents are "cool"

We took 3 grandchildren who are graduating from high school to visit the area for 5 days. They were really impressed that we did this. The seques are easy for all ages. Everyone loved the lights on the Mall after dark but it was a little bit chilly.

The segway is the best way to visit the sites and well woth the money. I would recommend it to all. After a few minutes of practice most people will be comfotable on the segway, I would do the tour again

Easy way to get around and see more!

I was pleasantly surprised at how fast we learned how to use the Segways and how quickly we became comfortable on them. I enjoyed the length of time we spend touring around and was not tired at all at the end of the tour. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was more of the DC Monuments like the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Wall, perpaps the FDR and JEfferson. More of the traditional destinations that are spaced out and hard on the feet walking from one to another. OR if there were more than one route to choose from so I could go again and not repeat the same tour, that would be nice. Overall, I was very pleased with the tour.

My 18 year old daughter and I took the Capital Segway tour over Easter break. It was wonderful. Our tour guide was Noah and he gave us a lot of information about Washington, DC. The segways are really easy to use and a lot of fun. We wish would have done these on the 1st day instead of the last so we could take advantage of some of the sites that our guide told us about. I highly recommend Capital Segway!

We planned on taking ONE segway tour of DC...and ended up booking TWO. I recommend booking now, as spots fill up fast. They were kind enough to offer us a private session beyond the hours listed on this site, so it's worth calling to ask! Noah, Wes, and Mary-Anne were TREMENDOUS. there was never a concern of safety, and they always managed to make sure the group was all together. The only way to see the city, in my opinion.

What a great addition to a business trip to DC. I loved the evening tour because we got to see the monuments and buildings lighted.

Overall fun riding experience

Riding the segway through DC was amazing, very fun! There were a few bumbs along the way however. Some people did fall and others did not have enough time to get use to the Segway. If there were any points to hinder the tour of DC it would be: 1. To have more time practicing with the machine (segway) before going on tour. 2. To have more time to look at things, it was less of a tour and more of a riding experience. Other than this, the tour was great. The two tour guides were great at helping others and directing us. Very friendly and compasionate group. By the end of the tour I would say everyone was use to the machines and had fun on them, minus a few cases of falling and such. Overall experience was good, leaves you wanting more.

Father & Son BLAST!!!

My 16 year son was in for his week long visit with me in the DC area. For those of who don't know - it's very hard to please a 16 year old when you're with them. Well this was it! Neither of us had ever tried one before. My inner ears were burnt out so my balance is almost zero. Neither of us had any problems adjusting and within minutes we were racing each other around the park. The guides were absolutely wonderfull too. I enjoyed their knowledge of the area and availability to answer all questions. They made sure that no one felt "dumb" learning to ride either. A total of 15 of us went on the tour and I for one can see myself purchasing one of these in the near future. What a blast - and same price (if not cheaper) than the old bus tours around the area. Ages ranged from 16 - about 63 years old. Plan accordingly because there is a NO CANCELLATION policy in effect which means even if it rains - you go!

I cannot think of a better way to spend a couple of hours seeing the historic sights of D.C. than while riding a Segway. It's easy -- it's great fun -- and I plan on doing it again.
