Capital Segway

This was the first event on our schedule and it gave us a good feel for what Washington DC had to offer and an even better feel for the layout of the city. Highly recommended.

Too much fun! A segway tour of Washington's world-famous monuments is not to be missed. The tour adds a thrilling new dimension to a visit to an already exciting city. The segway itself is remarkable. It is stable and extraordinarily responsive. The machine is controlled by slightly leaniing forward or backward. Turns are accomplished by slightly tilting the handlebar left or right. Riders become instantly acclimated and soon find themselves zipping down Pennsylvania Avenue, or cruising past the White House and Washington Monument. While the tour lasts about two hours, most riders were hoping the tour would continue when it ended.

My wife and I (both 60-somethings) did the tour in September and loved it so much that we treated our 30-something kids and their significant others to do it the day after Thanksgiving. They loved every minute of it and all of them learned something new, including our 2 kids who grew up in the NoVa suburbs. The ride covered everything of note from the White House to the Capitol. Highly recommended for young and old, locals and tourists.

Easy to ride, easy to sightsee -- just an easy tour.

My wife and I did a segway tour just the other day. It was on a Monday, so there was only the 2 of us. It was made really personal. The guy gave us full training and then took us out once we'd got the hang of it. He was really knowledgable and great fun. Didn't just stick to the script. Asked us what we wanted to see. I highly recommend these guys.

Great fun. Good guides. Earphones allow hearing everything guide says. Well worth it.

This was not only a great way to see the sites but also to experience riding a Segway. It only takes a short time to get used to the Segway and they take you to a park across the street for a little practice before you leave on the tour. Our tour guides were super knowledgable and had a dry sense of humor that I found very entertaining. It was the best thing I did while in DC and I will look for this type of tour everytime I travel on vacation. I highly, highly, highly recommend it.

The Segways feel quite natural once you have a 5-minute training session. Afterwards, you never want to get off of them!

Riding a Segway is not a natural feeling at first but the controls take only minutes to master. You will quickly be able to start, stop and turn the Segway in an intuitive way. The training is thorough and safety is paramount throughout. The guide supervises the group at all times but also gives a running commentary via a radio earpiece so that you get good information about the landmarks as you travel. All our group wanted to see a particular area of Washington and the guide was able to tailor the tour accordingly. We were able to stop at particular landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, the Martin Luther King memorial and the Washington Monument. The tour took in all the major attractions such s the White House, Capitol Hill, Museums and those mentioned above. I would genuinely recommend anyone who has basic levels of coordination to consider this tour. It is much more fun than a hop-on, hop-off tram or bus. Plus you get to learn a new skill at the same time. What a gas.

Segway's were a blast and quick to get the feel of. Guide was completely knowledgable AND witty with his dialogue. Great experience and would probably do it again next visit!!!
