Capital Segway

The guides were patient and explained how to use the Segway. It was easy to learn. Using the Segway was a fun way to get around the area - travelling 5-10 MPH and able to turn 360 degrees in just the space of the Segway. You got a radio with an earbud so you could easily hear the guide's commentary. The tour let me see many of the exciting sites in Washington in about 2 hours.

Do the tour early in your trip to get an idea of what is around the city. Karen was an excellant tour guide. The segway takes a little time to get the hang of, but its great fun (even though you look like a dork)

The tour was by far the highlight of our trip. I had 6 students with me and every one of them asked if we had time to take the tour again. It was more than a simple tour. The tour guide allowed time to play on the segways. He was excellent with the students. He used good humor mixed with interesting facts about the city.

It was a wonderfull tour and the two guides were great. Will do it again this Sunday this time with my wife. Will highly recomend it

THis is a great way to see the highlights of washington dc and get to try out a segway. I Would recommend this as an activity to do at the beginning of the trip, as it allows you to see all of the key sights in a very short amount of time, and gives you a good perspective on what the city has to offer. If you want to see any of the memorials or museums in more detail, you can do that at a later time after the tour is completed.

We originally wanted to try the Segways. What I realized after the trip was this is the best way to start a DC adventure, and the first stop that should be made. DC is big and there is much to see and do. The tour gives you a chance to see a lot of sights quickly and easily, and it's extremely fun. When you get back on foot you can go visit the sights that interested you along with the museums and eateries. The staff was fun and put safety first, and their knowledge of the area was impressive and the details of the sights we visited was remarkable. It was worth every penny and I highly recommend it. We went to the Coldplay concert on Friday, ate at Fogo De Chao, went to countless museums and did a lot of my favorite things in DC, but the Segway tour was by far the highlight of the trip. What a great invention, what an outstanding company. I don't know how well this would work in other cities, but these folks do it right in DC.

THE SEGWAY TOUR WAS WONDERFUL! WE TOURED WASHINGTON DC WHICH HAS MILES OF WALKING TO SEE THE SITES. THIS TOUR BROUGHT US UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL TO A FEW WE HAD MISSED ALONG THE WAY. THE TOUR GUIDE WAS WONDERFUL AND INFORMATIVE. THIS TOUR WAS THE HIGHLITE OF OUR FOUR DAYS IN DC. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT.

We recommend this as the #1 thing to do for those extra special visitors/friends who come to Washington, DC. (Do this first before all other outings.) My husband, 24 yr old stepson and I had a fun time Saturday, June 30 , 2007 on the 630p trip. Two positive, friendly instructor/tour leaders (Noah & Lenora, I believe) led us safely, with ease on a smooth ride around the city. Segways are easy/safe to get on/off and "drive/ride." The practice session in the park across the street before the tour was valuable, allowing time to create a SW operator comfort zone. Any responsible individual over 16-80 yrs would be a good candidate for this adventure. Wear flat shoes, as you will be on your feet 2-3 hrs. Anyone unable to withstand that should not participate. Our summer evening event was peaceful, in superb weather, with plenty of room to navigate. You may have been on tours that take the visitor door-to-door to the museums and buildings. You may have worked and driven all around the area many, many times. You may have even walked a few times to/from the attractions/around the mall, et al. I have done all 3.) However, you have never experienced the ease, safety, swiftness, height advantage or riding fun touring around on an oh-so-easy-to-operate Model 2 Segway offers! (The $65 each price tag was well worth it. If the electric battery charge had a range of 50 miles, rather than 24, we'd be sure to own two each of these ~$5100 models.) Even though I have been to the National Mall in DC a few times before, I ended up seeing a lot more during this tour. Apart from getting to know more history , I also got a great mental picture of where everything is located in that region. Hence after the tour, when we set out to take a closer look at the memorials and a few museums, I didn't get lost for a change. Our guide, Karen, was also great. She was very patient with my initial trepidation about handling a segway. And later on in the tour, she took us to some great spots in the area. One suggestion - I am huge fan of creating memories i.e. taking pictures for my family and friends to see. And even though every time I asked for a little time to do the above, our guide happily obliged. Still it was difficult to ask her to stop when one is on the segway in the middle of the roads.pavements and not always together, if we could stop and click a few. Your website clearly says that opportunities will be given to take pictures in front of all the stops. So it would be real nice if that is followed i.e. if we can be told when to take pictures. That way the communication is clear and it is great for everyone. It is a bit embarrassing to be asking the guide over and over at very obvious spots if we can stop to do so. Hope I am able to get my perspective across. Rest all was great. Would highly recommend it to everyone!

Took my 66 year old mother for a two hour tour. She had a blast and so did my wife and I. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the city w/o the hassle of walking or riding a bus.

It was an excellent experience. Our guide was great. He was fun, pleasant, took his time sharing information, taking pictures with patience, gave us extra time, and made the first night of our vacation our best one. I took my two teenagers who loved the tour. I have told everyone about it and can't say enough good things.

Same as the header, best way to see DC at a reasonable price.

It was our 4th annual Rich Girls Days in Washington. This year we decided to do a segway tour of the city and after some research I booked our trip with Capital Segway. They had the best reviews. From the time we arrived there until the tour was over everyone was very professional, kind, and fun. I felt very comfortable with the tour guides. They showed each one of us individually how to operate the segways which relieved my anxiety tremendously. It was an exciting way to see the city. We plan on doing this again in the summer. SOOOO MUCH FUN!

Segways are increadable, great tour guides. Very funny and informative. Very worth it!
