Great way to get around the city , these things are great fun easy to handle after a few lessons and you feel perfectly safe.
The ear piece monitoring and commentary makes it good also you just don't ride around blind to the sites not understanding what they are.
We would highly recommend it.. |

From the welcome to the end of the tour, the crew was super attentive and made sure everyone was looked after, regardless of age, gender, group, etc.. Tyler - was fantastic. You can tell that your safety is a priority and that helps you relax and enjoy the ride. |

We just had a wonderful time riding along seeing the sights. We had never ridden a Segway before but they are really quite easy to learn to operate. The tour guides were very helpful and informative, and a lot of fun! We would certainly recommend them to everyone.
One of our party didn't feel comfortable getting on one and Capital Segway was nice enough to refund her ticket price which was very much appreciated. |

Best way to see the monuments in my opinion. Lots of time on the Segways, perfect amount of time at the sites. Guide was great.
Do not hesitate to give Capital Segway a try! |

An Unforgettable Birthday Surprise!

A group of us recently surprised a family member with a segway tour of the city. The guides were so fun and knowledgeable about the city; they were extremely patient with the entire group because not everyone immediately got the hang of the Segway. The tour was very organized and in sequence; we took about two breaks which were in perfect settings to get gorgeous site pictures as well as group pictures. Quotes directly from the birthday lady "not sure how I'll top this birthday!". It was an unbelievable experience, good times and a good memory for the entire co-ed group! |

Hands Down the Best Way to Tour of D.C.

I highly recommend Capital Segways tour of Washington D.C.! My wife and I took the tour on May 18, 2012, with guides Matt and Andy and had a blast. Learning to use the Segway was incredibly simple and my wife was laughing and "segwaying" with confidence in under 2 minutes. It's a great way to get your bearings in the city and see some of the highlights before, or even after, starting your visit. The one-way radio the guides use (you wear a credit card sized receiver with a single earbud to listen) means you hear every word of the tour without worrying about being right next to the guide. The other tour operators don't provide this service and it makes all the difference!
The Segways are so easy to use and they allow you to see in 2 hours, in style and comfort, what would take at least a day on foot. Taking this tour at the start of our visit was one of the highlights of our trip, if not the best part, we can't recommend it enough! |

The 2 hour tour is great, we arrived that morning on a red-eye and it was an easy way to get your bearings when first arriving in town. The tour guides were excellent (I think one was Mark, but cant remember the other one's name who was actually a bit better). The tour does not include war memorials, but those are better to see on foot anyway. The headsets they give you are a huge advantage, and I would not take any segway tour that does not use them.
The only negative with Capital was that they called us 24 hours before our tour to let us know that the tour time was switched from 2:00 to 3:00. I was slightly irritated and we had to change some plans around, but I figured they didn't have enough people for the 2:00 tour. Once we arrived I found out that they somehow overbooked the 2:00 tour and bumped us to the 3:00 tour. They need to improve upon their reservation system to avoid this. There is a reason people reserve for a specific time and they should honor that or make some type of offer for changing it. |

The tour was hosted by a great guide, very competent at both teaching me to use the segway (first timer) and actually being a tour guide. He clearly took the ability of the group into account and catered for our needs. I was in a group of 6 and we were all pretty good straight off, so we did more than normal on the tour, took in a few extra sights, and nobody had any problems. Washington was a really good place to segway too, nice broad streets and places to stop and hear about the sights. The use of headphones was also an act of genius, could always hear the guide, even if you lagged behind looking at something of interest. Heartily recommend. |

We signed up for this 2 hour tour slightly hesitantly as weren't convinced we would get anything additional from it having walked for hours the previous day.
How wrong we were!
These Segways are a marvel to any intrepid tourist who wishes to zoom around one of the world's greatest capital cities on a space-age almost 007-like (James Bond for those non-Ian Fleming fans) machine. They are also absolutely suitable for anyone who would traditionally sit onboard a tour bus. You cannot beat the fun, versatility, accessibility, pace and ease of travelling around some of America's most famous sights.
It took no time at all to develop a frightening level of confidence on-board, so don't be put off if you are worried about the thought of having to learn to ride a bicycle again. Segways are a doddle to master!
We covered a huge amount of ground in 2 hours, and not just got to see everything we wanted to, but also had the expertise and splendid humour of our guide, Andy, to keep us fully informed about every fascinating ditt or historical story as we raced from the White House to Washington Memorial and onwards.
We are amazed that Segways aren't more common-place around the world, having never come across them before. They should be, as they provide a unique and highly absorbing way to experience any traditional sight-seeing trip in the most fun and exhilarating manner possible.
Is this the most cost effective way of seeing Washington DC? Probably not the cheapest, but by far the most memorable, worthwhile and fun sight-seeing experience we have done in nearly 25 years of international travel.
Go on - go Segway - you know you want to!! Enjoy!!! |

Had a great time on the tour. The orientation lesson on the Segway was great and I always felt comfortable and had fun. The tour was great and the 2 guides were very personable and knowledgable. The Segway is a fun contraption! For those of us that would never buy one, it's a great chance to experience one. We covered 6 miles in 2 hours. We would never have done that much walking I will look for other Segway tours in other cities. Capital Segway is a great choice. They are a dealer and use 2 guides with headsets for all. Easy to get to from the orange Metro at McPherson station. |

Great -- But Personal Politics Is Not Needed

I absolutely loved this activity. Both of our tour guides were fantastic, but I only felt that way over the two hours. Initially the gentleman teaching us how to use the Segway seemed annoyed with us -- or something, I don't know. He just didn't strike me as friendly. Then, throughout the first hour of the tour we were inundated with his personal thoughts on politics in Washington. I probably didn't share the same views as him, but he was so funny I didn't mind too much. I'm a fairly easy-going guy. Maybe not everyone would feel the same way. The second tour guide was even better and truly did have a great voice for his job. It was fun. Overpriced, but fun. |
