Capital Segway

The trip was fun and informative. The guides were polite and helpful. The Segways were easy to learn and use. It was my first time on one and within a few minutes I felt confident to take the tour. You can cover a lot of territory in a very short time. The Segways where alot of fun.....felt like a kid on one.

Wonderful way to see the town!!

4 Reasons why this is a GREAT tour! 1. SEGWAYS: If you have never been on a segway what are you waiting for? Our tour was 5 couples all in our 30's and 40's. Some of us were shaky for the first 10 mins but then after whizzing around a local park we were all pros. This is partly due to some decent instruction by the Capital Segway guys but mostly due to these awesome machines. If you can stand around then you can ride one of these. Really! 2. THE BOYS: These guys run the whole show. In our smallish group they were excellent. Charming, funny, patient and positive from the initial greeting, through training and to the end of the tour. They are very casual and low key thus taking any anxiety or stress totally out of the experience. Also, each tour had 2 guides, one narrating and the other checking out the route and ensuring everyone was OK. 3. WIRELESS HEADSETS: Something that really seems to set this tour apart is the wireless headsets that everyone wears. This means the guide can continue to give you info and instructions at all times wherever you are. This leaves you free to ride at your own pace and circle around the area while the guide is talking. Any worry about missing what they are saying or having to keep within earshot is gone! From what I have seen, this segway tour has them and a lot of the others do not. I have no idea why not!! 4. WASHINGTON: this city is made for segways - lots of amazing sites separated by large distances with many bike lanes, parks and open areas to roll in. The tour had a great mix of using the segway for fun and for transportation. All in all, my wife and I could not have asked for a better experience. Big smiles on our faces the whole time! 10 out of 10.

I really thought that it would be difficult to ride, however, it turned out to be very easy. No one should hesitate because of this. Also, I saw more in the short time than walking around and the tour was more personal than a bus tour. I would do it again, and have looked into segway tours in other towns.

Morgan our Tour Guide was great!. A short training course prior to the tour on Segway operation and safety was easy to understand and more than adequate to get everyone started. Time was provided to get the feel of riding the Segway prior to the tour. Earbuds were provided to each rider that allowed us to hear Morgan speak to us as we rode along. This was especially helpful as he was able to tell the group about various sites as we rode along. When we stopped, this intercom system was great because we could easily hear his explanations even with the ambient traffic and street noises. The tour itself easily covered several miles of Washington DC in about 90 minutes! No way could this be done on a walking tour. The Segway allowed us to easily go places that a tour bus could not take us. As we rode around town other tourists waved at us, took pictures of our Segway caravan and applauded for us! I wished we had practiced doing Figure 8s or some kind of formations to put on a demonstration as we rode! LOL! Morgan was very personable with a fun sense of humor as well as very knowledgeable about the sites and history of Washington DC! I am local to DC but my guests were from Delaware and Illinois. This is a wonderful way to see the town in a way you have never seen it before. The online booking/ticketing process was seamless. The tour was informative and riding the state of the art Segway was FUN! What more could I ask from a tour? This is a "gotta do" or "Bucket List" event. Words can't completely describe this...a tour of the town via Segway must be experienced! Thanks again Morgan, You Rocked the House!

Always wanted to use a Segway and this was a perfect opportunity. Our guide Karen was extremely nice and informative. Only drawback is this tour was two hours where the competition is three hours for the same price (but sold out on the day we wished to tour).

I was on business in the area and only had a few hours to tour around. I splurged and did this tour. Well worth it. Saw nearly everything I wanted to see and enjoyed being on the streets rather than having to be at the mercy of the bus and their 30 minute wait times at stops. You should tip your guide if you thought they were helpful, insightful, and funny.

My friend and I left an hour and a half before the specified meeting time and we got trapped on the Metro randomly at Le Enfant. I called Austin the tour guide and let him know the situation and he was very helpful and even waited for us to get to the Segway store before they started the tour! WE REALLY APPRECIATED IT! The tour was much more informative than I expected, and the Segway's were easy to ride and we were trained thoroughly before riding them .

As Washington DC's sights are spread out the Segway is the ideal and fun vehicle to see them in just two hours. The Segway is very easy and a lot of fun to handle as long as instructions are applied responsibly. Would not recommend to overweight or unfit persons. You do need a sense and pleasure of balance to enjoy this ride.

If you are new to the area, this is a good way to become familiar with the sights, direction, and distances between them to help you plan your visit.

THis is a great way to see the highlights of washington dc and get to try out a segway. I Would recommend this as an activity to do at the beginning of the trip, as it allows you to see all of the key sights in a very short amount of time, and gives you a good perspective on what the city has to offer. If you want to see any of the memorials or museums in more detail, you can do that at a later time after the tour is completed.

This is a really good way to combine sightseeing with a bit of gadget tryout! The Segway is an ideal platform for sightseeing, and the folks at Capital Segway provide an entertaining and informative tour. The intro session gets you comfortable with the Segway and you get plenty of time to get used to it before the tour starts (be on time though!) The tour covers most of the main sights you would want to see, I used this to make the most of my day trip. Above all, it's a lot more fun than a bus tour!

The tour was by far the highlight of our trip. I had 6 students with me and every one of them asked if we had time to take the tour again. It was more than a simple tour. The tour guide allowed time to play on the segways. He was excellent with the students. He used good humor mixed with interesting facts about the city.

We considered the other Segway operator but went with this one because they provided headsets where you could listen to the naration by the group leader. Our group had Austin and he was Great! Very informative and very funny! (How do they get all the flags at the Washington Monument to fly in the same direction?) I cannot imagine having a tour and not having a guide who can talk to you. The machines were very easy to operate and a lot of fun. We got looks where ever we went and you could just see that the people watching wanted to ride along with us. I've already recommended this tour to others and look forward to another chance to tour. Thanks again to Austin for the great tour!
