Capital Segway

My husband and I have done 2 other segway tours (Germany and Disney World) so we knew we would like it. Sure enough, it was great! This one was different since we did the nighttime one (9:30pm) and I think that made it even better. It was cooler (we visited in July) and there were less people, plus seeing all the monuments lit up gave us a whole different perspective. Jamey (our tour guide) was very funny and made the tour very interesting with all of his knowledge about D.C. I highly recommend doing the tour early during your visit (like the first day/night). You will learn things that will help you plan your visit better--from a local no less! Another huge plus for us was the amount of time spent on the intro...not too short, not too long. Since we had already done 2 segway intros we were well-versed in how to operate one. The review was nice and not too cheesy. Don't be afraid....if you can stand, you can ride a segway without any problems. I promise you will have fun!

For the tech geek it's worth the money just to spend 2 hrs on these amazing machines. For others, they (the guide and the segway) enable a unique and refreshing way to learn about the "must see" of Washington DC. Our tour guide Tyler was very informative, fun and flexible and was able to handle special request's in stride. Learning to ride the segway is very easy, and fun. No previous experience required. You can and should do it!! Book the early tour in the hottest part of the year. Highly recommended!!

i gave this as a gift to my daughter and to her friend visiting from CA. They loved it..terrific guide...felt they saw more of the city than when they walk it..great facts..they came home and recommended it to the rest of the family.. thank you for such a memorable morning.

The tour was amazing but I had trouble with purchasing tickets online. The website didn't clearly state the date of the tour so I mistakenly bought tickets for Monday (the day of the purchase) instead of Wednesday. The staff wasn't very helpful with this situation, claiming that it wasn't their problem because online ticket purchase is exclusively managed by Z-serve. This was a great activity, but please make the website clearer to avoid errors in ticket purchase and make the tour staff more cohesive with online ticket purchase.

It was a blast. I still see images of my wife (she is so cute) leaning forward, dilligently keeping pace with our tour guide. We'd never been on seways before. They trained us, gave us some time on or own, worked with us individualy, and when we were ready, they gave us the tour. The tour could've had a few more stops, it was cool, piloting our convertible pods thru DC on a beautiful day, very interactive. Our tour guide didn't even scold me that bad when i got into a wabble testing the handling abillity of the segway at top speed.

I was very much looking forward to this activity but I must admit that I was somewhat nervous about being able to do it. I had torn a hamstring last year and didn't want another injury. Our tour guide was Tyler and he was the most patient and positive person I could have hoped for. Having just retired after 31 years as a principal and educator I give an A+ for alleviating my fears while providing an informative and really fun tour. The learning curve on a Segway is pretty steep but I DID IT! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. If I can do it, anyone can. Thank you Tyler and Capital Segway.

The tour itself wasn't the best I've had in terms of information, but the experience was a lot of fun. I would recommend as a change of pace for those more adventurous, but it is just a basic overview of the mall.

Great overview tour. Segways seemed intimidating at first but you'll quickly get the hang of it. Tour guides very informative. Had microphones and headsets, so the tour guides did not have to yell at the group. Try it in the evening especially. Streets and sites are less crowded.

My husband said he had more fun than he has had in a long time and so did I. We live near Washington DC and have seen the sights many times and still enjoyed it tremendously. The guide was very careful to keep us safe and entertained. We enjoyed the challenge and capabilities of the Segway very much. I would do it again in another city for touring in a heart beat. And we would take a visiting friend to see the sights this way even though we have already done it. You can take in many, many sights in the two hours. You could not see that much in a whole day of walking. And the guide gave us the significance and trivia about the sights via a radio which we had on a lanyard around our necks with an earpiece. I can't say enough about our experience. We were house sitting in Alexandria and did tourist activities for 5 days and the CapSegway tour was the highlight for sure.

Pros: Great for covering lots of (but not all) main attractions in 2 hours. Segway easy to operate. Lots of fun to travel this way. Cons: You do not go into any buldings or spend time at monuments. Guide was a good navigator and very nice but not a lot of info provided. Legs are very stiff after an hour on the Segway. Overall: Good, quick, easy way to "see" lots of sights quickly without walking but this is NOT an in depth tour by any means; perhaps helps you plan where you want to spend time at. Or, if you're a local like me, a nice new way to view the city.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour which I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the sights around the capital. Do this first! Then go back and visit the specific spots you want on foot. You cannot get a tour of the area around the capital any better or any more fun! The Segways are a blast! Wish I had one.

This was so much fun for me and my family, we can't wait to do it again. We laughed and smiled the whole time. If you don't do this tour, you're really missing out.

Have been on a Segue-way tour before. Loved it then and this was as great. Keep up the good work!!

OMG! Never been on a Segway. Must say it was probably one of the best tours I've done ever anywhere. It was perfect from all angles. Fun way of seeing the sites, many stops to see, and a great staff that kept it entertaining and interactive. This is by far the best way to see DC up close instead of from a bus or from the street and definitely the quickest.
