Capital Segway

First off, the Segway is an amazing invention. I can't believe I waited this long. OK, so the first guide we had was good in that he was quite attentive to the group's needs. The second guide had an amazing amount of knowledge in terms of the background of the place, but it felt like he was didacting, not communicating. Logistically, the radio had limited reach, so those at the back received broken signals. I wonder, if there was a GPS/iPod attached, whether that would have made people more aware of where they were, and what they were looking at. Overall, I would recommend it, but with the above limitations, I'd say keep the group to 10.

We came down to the Rolling Tunder 2011 and stoped to ride segways and had a Great Time thank you for that.

Justin was fantastic! Very informative with a great sense of humor. Patient and a real sweet guy. Capitol Segway is a great way to see the city. It was so much fun, I was sorry the tour was over. Segway's are easy to learn to use, and Justin was a great instructor. I have given a brochure to a co-worker who will be in the DC area this summer. I told him what a blast it was and he is very interested. I would recommend this to anyone with a sense of fun and adventure.

I think anyone coming to DC should do the Segway tour as one of your first activities. It gives you a great overview of where things are and what you want to come back to. Also, the tour guide gives you LOTS of info, and using the earpiece and microphone is brilliant! We had a blast and when I go back, I will probably do another of the tours. By the way, we are all in our 50's and this was not physically taxing or difficult. In fact, it was easier than walking to all those places!! Highly, highly recommend.

I really thought that it would be difficult to ride, however, it turned out to be very easy. No one should hesitate because of this. Also, I saw more in the short time than walking around and the tour was more personal than a bus tour. I would do it again, and have looked into segway tours in other towns.

Morgan our Tour Guide was great!. A short training course prior to the tour on Segway operation and safety was easy to understand and more than adequate to get everyone started. Time was provided to get the feel of riding the Segway prior to the tour. Earbuds were provided to each rider that allowed us to hear Morgan speak to us as we rode along. This was especially helpful as he was able to tell the group about various sites as we rode along. When we stopped, this intercom system was great because we could easily hear his explanations even with the ambient traffic and street noises. The tour itself easily covered several miles of Washington DC in about 90 minutes! No way could this be done on a walking tour. The Segway allowed us to easily go places that a tour bus could not take us. As we rode around town other tourists waved at us, took pictures of our Segway caravan and applauded for us! I wished we had practiced doing Figure 8s or some kind of formations to put on a demonstration as we rode! LOL! Morgan was very personable with a fun sense of humor as well as very knowledgeable about the sites and history of Washington DC! I am local to DC but my guests were from Delaware and Illinois. This is a wonderful way to see the town in a way you have never seen it before. The online booking/ticketing process was seamless. The tour was informative and riding the state of the art Segway was FUN! What more could I ask from a tour? This is a "gotta do" or "Bucket List" event. Words can't completely describe this...a tour of the town via Segway must be experienced! Thanks again Morgan, You Rocked the House!

Always wanted to use a Segway and this was a perfect opportunity. Our guide Karen was extremely nice and informative. Only drawback is this tour was two hours where the competition is three hours for the same price (but sold out on the day we wished to tour).

As Washington DC's sights are spread out the Segway is the ideal and fun vehicle to see them in just two hours. The Segway is very easy and a lot of fun to handle as long as instructions are applied responsibly. Would not recommend to overweight or unfit persons. You do need a sense and pleasure of balance to enjoy this ride.

This was my second tour with Capitol Segway. But the first for the rest of my party. They all loved it and Austin was a great guide. Thank you!

The guide had a good understanding of safety and was an excellent tour guide.

I am a long-time resident of the DC area and was looking for a way to experience Segways with my adult kids (also residents of the area) . The tour was really really fun, the guides knowledgeable without being condescending; we learned facts we didn't already know about DC, and gained a new appreciation for the layout of the mall. I would go again tomorrow, or anytime...it was money well spent and a lot of fun. If you're going to try a Segway tour, DC is a great place to do it, especially if the weather is nice.

Austin, our tour guide, was fun, energetic and knowledgeable. There were only 3 in our group, so we had personalized attention.We did the six o'clock, 2 hour tour, which worked out great for our group because we were in D.C. for a class during the day. Not too many activities operate in the evenings in D.C., so this was the perfect fit for us. It's a great way to see the main sights of D.C in a short period of time and have fun doing it. It was our first Segway tour and we would not hesitiate to recommend it or to do it again.

Karen, our tour guide, made this a really interesting and educational tour. She was able to make us comfortable riding the Segway in a very short time. This particular Segway model was more confortable than two others I have ridden in different cities. This was my third ride on a Segway, but two friends in my group had never ridden before and they were at ease in just a few moments. I was amazed at how much we were able to see during the tour. It was very easy to travel by Segway from one monument or historic site to the next. I especially enjoyed the historical information Karen provided. I recommend this tour highly for visitors to Washington.
